Joe Here:

Hello Ladies!

Wow! I lost my voice and my little toe I danced so hard (just kidding about the toe.) I just said to the Ladies in the group meeting that if the cruise to Alaska is like last night for six nights I'm coming home in a body bag feet first! The energy was amazing and it is a shame we don't have the audio-- the music and laughter and conversation. We are definately getting other senior bachelors to take the cruise with you all- look at what they are missing!

Thanks to all the Ladies for making it a very special evening.

Back later!

THE LADIES WILL BE GOING TO THE CRAZY HAT PARTY AT 8:30 THIS EVENING (I WAS TOLD THERE HAS BEEN NO MENTION OF ANY PLANS FOR A DINNER GET TOGETHER FOR TONIGHT, WHO KNOWS THAT COULD CHANGE). AT ANY RATE I WILL BE MEETING THEM AFTERWARDS AND WE WILL BE GOING OUT TO DO IT UP "CHICAGO STYLE".

Joooooeee! What awesome photos from the Cruise Extravaganza! You got the SB Man up and dancing! Thank you for getting a photo of the Lovely Brenda!!! Umberto looked like he was having the time of his life. He probably never knew so many "Hot Mamas" could be in the same room at the same time.
So glad that there were fireworks for your evening in more ways than one!

As for me it's just another Saturday out to dinner with my friends. Last Saturday night I had dinner with 100 of my high school classmates at my 30 year reunion.
Tonight I'll be going to a progressive dinner with about 100 of my church congregation, and I'm not cooking(Love That!). But I must "sing for my supper" in a way. Before heading to dinner I will go sing the National Anthem for our local Women's Professional Football Team, the SoCal Scorpions, who are very close to taking the western division championship in the National Women's Football League!!!! These gals kick some serious Butt!!! I love singing for them!!

Brenda and Cathy, thank you so very much for your photo and personal impressions of the Chicago SB Event. I'm looking forward to Brenda's visits to the museums, the small group chat with Richard, and the silly, goofy, funny hats from the party this evening.

Have any of the Chicago ladies gone after hours to a jazz club yet? How was it??? Is the music as good as they say??? How was the band last night on the cruise???

(In my best Ahnold impersonation)
ALL BE BACK!!! LOL

Richard,

And “they” said you don’t dance! So much for “them”!

As far as I know, that ever elusive “they” never did say why in the past you have chosen not to dance.

The pictures currently occupying center front on your blog definitely show a man willing to take on new experiences and new challenges—not unlike what you are asking of your prospective travel partners/potential soul mate.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I do my best thinking either in the shower (a favorite spot of mine) or on a solitary walk.

And, today, after viewing with delight the photos of the silver fox dancing with one admiring partner after another, I mentally correlated that experience for you with another I witnessed last summer concerning my sister-in-law.

A family group of us were enjoying a day on Lake Havasu, complete with a boat and two jet skis. While I will hop on the jet skis and rev it up to 40 or 50 mph (fairly fast on the water), my sister-in-law is deathly afraid to be in the water. We had pulled the boat ashore, and some of us were swimming in the warm waters of the lake. Finally, my sister-in-law strapped on her life vest and waded waist high into the water. I had not seen before a vest like hers—a very patriotic bright red, white, and blue. She said she wanted to be sure if the need should arise, NO ONE would have a problem finding her!

The point of my story is simple. Whether or not someone else thinks there is valid reason for fear, we all do have fears of our own. Finding a way to deal with that fear is the important ingredient.

Richard, even for a man who LOVES to dance, one hundred plus women lined up eagerly waiting for their spin around the dance floor with him is formidable.

My hat, crazy or not, once again is off to you!

I want to hear about EVERYBODY's 5 minutes, 200 minutes, 10 minutes. . .etc., and does that count group meetings, eye contact and astral travel? IT felt like Richard's spectral spirit traveled through time and space to every single one of those hotel rooms in the Ayres, (except the room of the two guys in the Texas A&M
T-shirts. Well, maybe them too.) His essence was everywhere and was certainly the ethereal guest of honor in my little territory of personal renaissance those nights! My 5 minutes, 40 min, 28 hours or whatever it was in that hotel and on the California beach connecting to whatever magic RR holds, made time stand still and will take 5 hours to tell around a bonfire,Or many bonfires.
O-W Lois! I'm singing with your post! & GO GIRL SOCCER!!!! I would like to paint the national anthem, but it would take too long in the middle of the field!
To bad we don't have an audio transcript or a site devoted to questions asked in the group meetings. WE would learn a lot more about Richard, faster. It's like an army called up with an unknown destination, and that in itself is the delicious excitement of this investment of time, energy, hope, emotion and metamorphosis we have chosen. He is going to have an incredible story when this is done.

Boy Richard have you got your work cut out for you or what? Sure you won't need more time to make your picks.

If I were in your shoes I know I would.

But best of luck to those women that get into the finals. For the rest of us wasn't it fun being a part of all the excitment, and maybe some of us even had some personal growth from this entire experience. I know I did!!!

Safe journey to those returning home and back to reality of living your everyday lives.

Hugs, happy everything to everybody today.

Did anyone have as crazy a Saturday night as I did? What a bizarre night for me .. First I gave a loud exasperating red neck a huge lecture about gender equality and the myth in the code of the old west, the folly of trying to live like Louis L’Amour novels and then emergency response went on ALL NIGHT! It is 5:35 am and I haven’t been to bed yet. I cant even talk about it. It was too weird but I helped with two really good saves, one over an embankment 25 foot down +extrication, intubation, spinal immobilization all the big stuff,. Earlier, Just as I sat down and turned on the television, Saturday Night Fever was on! I got a phone call from a young man asking for rescue from an abusive parent , so I picked him up and on the way to the police station I went into the restaurant to talk to the Chef and get an employment app to help the boy establish emancipation. And there was a DISCO PARTY going on! Of all songs: Donna Summer, I Will Survive. The chef had on sequin emerald Elton John glasses. And as I walked out a large man with tattoos and a shaved head followed me with his eyes. Mediating with the young man’s parents and hanging out at Family Resource took a long while but was successful and he is safe and then just as I got home my pager went off about the wrecked car and when we got out there, It was the tattooed bald guy. We got him breathing, conscious and with difficulty, out of there. The truck was upside down below me, the dark was limiting and there was mud and leaves all over . I brought down the O2 and the trauma bag. Tomorrow I’m going back to look for stuff and I want to measure the slope. It was a tough climb. It was time to rock n’ roll. He was so drunk when our Captain leaned in close to tell him he had been injured and was on the way to the hospital, He open his eyes wide and aggressively said, “You’re HOT!” We medivaced him on November 70 Lima Gulf, Air Med. Hopefully we saved the guy. We definitely gave him and airway and got him breathing. DID ALL THOSE CRAZY hats send brain waves up this way? I am literally falling. . . . after the plane took off the sky was half full of wild Northern lights dancing all over the place and I could see Orion out my window. . . . asleep over the keyboard. Better go make myself an aluminum foil hat.. It’s nights like these I wish for a warm partner to come home to and curl up inside his form and I would say “Guess what happened” and he would say in his best SCARFACE: “fugitaboutdidt. . . shhhhh. . . c’mere.” For now Orion is always there. HAPPY B Day , Connie!

Wow! Lady Base Camp
What a night you've had...I'm not going to tell you again what an amazing woman you are because you must know that by now...now get some rest...if you can.

I woke up to a couple of light earthquakes this morning. We had a 4.4 at 6:48 and a 3.8 at 6:49. The first one woke me up. Just a slight rolling thunder noise. I have wooden windows so they shake a little. I checked the EQ web page and they had reports as far away as San Clemente. Did you feel it Shar and Lois? My grandaughters slept right through it. I usually wake up around 4 am but due to the fun wedding I attended yesterday, I went to sleep rather late and slept in...until the quake woke me...

I was hoping to see some more pics from Chicago...maybe later today? I'll check Brenda and Cathy's sites before I sign off. I also want to read some of the previous blogs to see if I may have missed something, then I am going to take my grandaughters bowling.

I'll check back later in the afternoon.

Have a great day!

I saved all the pictures to "My Pictures" in my computer. It is easy to do. Click on the picture, click the floppy disk icon (it will say "save") Browse to choose the location and click it. (My documents, my pictures, etc.) You can go down the entire file clicking away.

To Yvonne, SuzieQ, Debbie, my wonderful roommates. It was fun trading clothing, jewelry, perfume, whatever like teens! I hope we formed friendships that will last forever. Linda P., you live so close! I hope it is okay to put my email address on here. It is j.frey@mchsi.com I would like to be in touch with several of you. Anyone who remembers me, email me so I have your address. I remember so much about each of you (special conversations) but will blame my age for a difficulty with names! A list is supposed to be shared eventually. I have pictures of several of you in my camera! I will be happy to email them to you. If I start naming all I do remember, I will be here all day!!!!

Sunny, if you use the computer get in touch with me. I have your phone number.

So much has been said about the wonderful time it would be redundant here. Thanks to all who put so much time and effort into making it all possible. We are a pretty special population!!!! We need an opportunity to share who we are. This is a beginning.

Jerri from the "other" Illinois.
