Good Morning to All and Aloha,

Gawd, yet another beautiful day here in Maui. After blogging I am off to work-out. Then Gayle and I have a 10 am reservation for some tennis. Then what? maybe snorkel/surf.

Our Cousin (another Richard/Dick) who lives on the island called very early this am and is taking us out in his sea vessel tomorrow to fish.

Hope y'all don't mind me going on about this wonderful trip and I will have some great photos to post one day soon.

Hugs to All

Deb

Hey ladies, this is INDEPENDENCE DAY in Belize. That means we all get to stay home and PARTY. Firecrackers and caribbean music galore. The great troubador LORD LARO is in town for the celebrations and kicking it into high gear with his high stepping songs and compositions.

It appears that everyone will be having a grand ole time in Chicago. I can't wait to see the pics that will be coming out from this very happening event.

Richard, are you excited yet????

GOOD MORNING ALL --Hope all is well with all the Chickadee. Richard shared with us at one of the meetings in MB how he came to call us his Chickadees. Guess one morning when he went into his office and saw all the pictures and Bio's he put his hands together (finger-tips touching) and said "so my little chickadee what do you have for me today" He said it with a W.C. Fields accent and I don't know about everyone else but I sure felt the Love. There is a picture of Richards hands with fingertips touching on the Blog. I guess a mans eyes might steal the heart but the hands tell of both the strength and gentleness of the man himself.

Lois - I would love to come down your way sometime and attend an opera with you or better yet to hear you sing. I'll never forget the 'cheese' note you held that had us all smiling for our staircase photo at the Ayers. You are so lovely.

Connie - thank you for representing PEACE in our world. I lost my husband to a service related death. The concept of war physically hurts me, why can't we find a better way.

Mary Rose - I so enjoyed meeting you a MB. We didn't get to spend much time together but I like your style and your sense of adventure has inspired me to get out and Yehaw....

Leslie - So glad I got to spend the evening with you at the pier that first night with Richard. A sunset over the Pacific with Richard Roe WOW were we lucky or what.

Linda - Hope all is well with you, your weather in Az should be just about perfect about now, enjoy.

Debeddy - Still hope to get together with you when you return, I'll be passing through your town on my way to Donner Lake. Let me know what your Fall schedule is like......

I'm going to try to post a picture and play with the Blog today so stay tuned. I hope I can get it right just haven't tried yet, my blog site is so boring, got to get with it.........

PS -- Sylvia have a peaceful day

OH NO not fireworks!!!!! I LOVE fireworks. Now I feel a little tinge of jealousy for all you lucky girls who will be showing up on the shores of Lake MI. Well maybe I can get the boys to plan a live burn drill this weekend and throw in some colorful metal scrap, a few old cabbage patch dolls full of copper and magnesium or something. SOFT RAIN – Im going to stand up an the tail deck and tell your “all the men started clapping” rescue rope joke. I ALWAYS scroll through the jokes but I saw the word rescue. They will think I am going to make some big poignant, emotional political speech and they will laugh so hard. I am practicing so I can keep a straight face.
MELANIE ! Maynard’s WAS FALLING DOWN IN THE 70’s! A wonderful oldstyle, Indian pink adobe. It’s a GOOD thing they tore it down. Though it would be fun to re-create it upscaled. There was a geat restaurant in PB with Cable spool tables fiberglassed with inlaid oceania. Do you remember the Door, a (semi) underground, counter-culture magazine. They had the biggest cable spool table ever. People would walk across it to get to the kitchen of the big old Victorian mansion. I was on the staff. It evolved quit a bit while I was there; from The Door to Liberation, to The Door. The mansion was torn down for condos! CRIMINAL!

Ladies of MB - I know how you all must be feeling - I was excited about your trip to MB but also a but jealous that I couldn't be there to participate in the festivities. Torture!

The pictures will help you feel more a part of it as they did for me. I loved the photos.

Wish everyone could meet someday somewhere - but who knows..I hope to have some great memories when all is finished.

Linda - U Got Moxie! Love your directness and honesty. I agree, and romance and adventure is what I hope will come from this, and the adventure is about to begin. Yeah!

Love Fireworks...truly magical stuff and soooo ROEmantic! Oooh la la it's gonna be an incredible Chicago(SHEECAAGO) Soiree;)

BELIZEGAL: Iwas told the hurricane swept passed your 'neck of the woods'? Hope not! Must be beautiful there where you are!

CALLMELIN: I wholeheartedly agree with you about Richard's hands. It shows a lot of good refined character, wisdom and meticulous;) at whatever he chooses to do. Strong healing energy in his hands which I mentioned on a previous blog! The eyes are the mirrors of the Soul and one can read through to the heart of a person just by looking into the eyes! I have been told that I 'draw people in' with the gentleness and somewhat sultry expression in my eyes, whatever that means:) Then again who am I to say this, it is better left for those who truly 'see' me;) of which there is only a handful that do. My children/chikadees 'see' me as clear as crystal!

LINDAINTUCSON: You are sooo funny, miss the 'bridal attire' ;) you will NEVER grow old, nor do I wish to either, I'll have you know:)
Forever Young, I wanna be forever young, love that song...riveting!

DEBBY EDDY: Hope you don't mind my saying this but you live in a beautiful part of the world. Do you ever swim with the dolphins? I call the dolphins and when I was in South Africa one time, my Blessed Mother witnessed the telepathic transference of thoughtforms from me to them and in an instant the sea was shimmering silver with hundreds of dolphins leaping in and out! We ALL have the capacity to converse with the animals....coyotes included...ooowwwwww;)

Thoughts and prayers for those directly in the path of hurricane rita, looks like Galveston Texas etc. The storms seem to be gaining more and more momentum each and every year...what is the message here for us all? Enquiring minds wanna know;)

SWEET 'P' PHYL: wassssup girl? Do you plan to go on the cruise wid the chickadees and chikadoos(males)
next Summer to Alaska?

JOE: I've noticed you using a few Yiddish expressions, cute to see...
I better sign off for real, 'plutzing mit the heat' again this afternoon...oy vey have to shlepp the garbage out, the highlight of my week's activities!

Having FUN as usual on this hea blog....to be continued;)

There once was a bunch of tiny
frogs..who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top
of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around
the tower to see the race
and cheer on the
contestants...

The race began...

Honestly...No one in the crowd
really believed that the tiny
frogs would reach the top of
the tower

You heard statements such as:

"Oh, WAY too difficult !!! "
They will NEVER make it to the
top!!!" or:

"Not a chance that they will
succeed. The tower is too
high!!!"

The tiny frogs began
collapsing. One by one...
Except for those, who in a
fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...

The crowd continued to
yell, "It is too difficult!!!
No one will make it!!!"

More tiny frogs got tired and
gave up...But ONE continued
higher and higher and
higher...

This one wouldn't give up!!!

At the end everyone else had
given up climbing the tower.
Except for the one tiny frog
who, after a big effort, was
the only one who reached the
top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know
how this one Frog managed to do
it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to Succeed and reach
the goal?

It turned out...That the winner
was DEAF!!!

The wisdom of this story is:

NEVER listen to other people's
tendencies to be negative or
pessimistic...because they take
your most wonderful dreams and
wishes away from you...the ones
you have in your heart!!!

Always think of the power words
have because everything you
hear and read affects your
actions!!! Therefore:

ALWAYS be...POSITIVE!!!

And above all:

..I don’t know where you’re

going and I don’t know why...
but listen to your heart.
Belong to your dreams.

whatever Chris had in mind, sure seemed to work;) LOL! I LOVE the part of Richard's snorin' my 'chickadee and chickadoos' laughed so hard at that particular scene, I guess they saw elements of their own 'POP' ;)....I have started giggling again, just at the thought of it!
Yes, Khalil Gibran wrote the poem, in his book called The Prophet:

YOUR CHILDREN ARE NOT YOUR CHILDREN
THEY COME THROUGH YOU BUT NOT FROM YOU
YOU MAY HOUSE THEIR BODIES BUT NOT THEIR SOULS FOR THEIR SOULS DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF TOMOROW WHICH YOU CANNOT VISIT NOT EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS
YOU MAY STRIVE TO BE LIKE THEM BUT DO NOT STRIVE TO MAKE THEM LIKE YOU
YOU ARE THE BOWS FROM WHICH YOUR CHILDREN AS LIVING ARROWS ARE SENT FORTH

I memorized this poem many years ago when I went through 'my hell' and it gave me the inner strength I needed at the time. Sorry if I neglected to remember a sentence here and there

Oh well,Mary, Mary ,Mary life is but a scream. I liked the part in Pop and Me where Richard comes in and lays down and says I used to be slim and mean and Chris says now you're fat and mean...that really tickled me. Our family are all readers. When 'Ladies Who Run with Wolves' first came out, My daughter gave it to me and I have in turn given at least a dozen away since. Why I mention this as important?? Because this year she was troubling over an unusual gift for her husband of 23 years.

I suggested(And she did do it) she give them a copy of
GUIDE TO GETTING IT ON by Paul Joannides

"In our vast library of sex books, this is by far and away the most human, enlightening and entertaining read of the lot. I'll be recommemding it until my keyboard wears out." COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE,UK

"A world-class sex manual. Whoever you are and however much sexual experience you've had, you will benefit from reading this book. I can't recommend it too highly" INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF HUMAN RELATIONS

"One of the few books about sex that you will actually want to sit down and read."PLAYBOY ADVISOR

"The only sex manual you'll ever need!" ROLLING STONES MAGAZINE Etc. etc.

It has won several awards and has published translations in 14 languages.

FYI: Any age ANYONE WHO IS FUN LOVING, ADVENTEROUS OR JUST WANTS TO KNOW SOMETHING can visit:

for the best $19.95
worth of information you can add to your bank of knowledge-- even if you might be alone*lonesome* not motivated/interested or *feeling that stage has pass. It even helps to understand others.

And my name is

And I don't sell books.

PS: Evette, that daughter is Kyle's home school teacher, Retired from being a trainer for American Airlines. Her husband is a very successful Chicago/Florida Insurance Executive & Top Level Iorn Man. They also do competative dancing.

They will tell you "It was "Out of left field but the perfect gift!."

Thanks Nancy for another great opportunity. One never knows who they really are helping.

You all will find those few days in Chicago way to short for that wonderful city.
I can sugest you just kind of remember you goal. Mine in MB was to have Fun, Meet wonderful people and show Richard that I really was who I said I was.

Too bad. The only reason I can think of is that the self appointed queen of the blog didn't like it -- I read it, and within 8 seconds it was gone. I wonder what else disappears!!
Face it, Blog police, the majority of the girls here don't like her, but do tolerate her rather nicely. Girls can do that. We support each other immensely, but when someone does step out of bounds (sound familiar someone?!) we just ignore them. The blog was like a breath of fresh air the last two days (until today) while she was gone!!

Just getting ready for the fireworks - how exciting - (No, Mary Rose I did not just go out and buy the book.)

Have not heard from Richard today, but I would like to say that I am so excited about the fireworks - it will be great fun - just hope that you (RR) did not use some of the fireworks to distroy some of the late entries.

I am having a hard time figuring out who is coming - does anyone have a list. I think that I will be able to recognize some of you wonderful women - most likely Misred will be wearing red. Paula in Florida will look like Mae West (not). Linda in Tucson will be wearing a hat - I will recognize Ilene - my roommate - she sent me her picture but I think most of the pictures of bloggers that frequently appear on the blog will not be going to Chicago.
We will need "blog nametags".

Fall is here - and now we have Rita.

Melanie -

You can check for some of the names of people going to Chicago on Click Girl's blog. If you find her name on one of these blogs (I don't think she's on this one, yet),just click on her blue name and that will take you to it.

P.S. I'm going! Hope to meet you there!

Fireworks! Very nice!

Forgive me for playing ‘catch up’ from the last Blog! I’ve been following along – but haven’t had much time to post … so I’m responding to some comments from the last round! ; )

Welcome Leslie: in Cleveland!!

Hi Annie! So glad to see you worked out how to Blog! Welcome!! Hopefully – you will have a quick response to your request! If you click on my name – you can also post your request for a room mate on my Blog – in case someone misses it on here.

And Melanie … if you go to my Blog – I have a pretty good list of everyone that has said they are going. I was hoping for input from everyone – to make sure I have included everyone. So … check it out!

Also - if people looking for room mates want to post that on my Blog - it might be easier to match people up.

Hey Debby: – Maui sounds great!! And the Snorkeling sounds incredible. I’m not sure about that shark bait thing though! (hee hee) Be careful out there … and glad you are having fun!! Can’t wait to see the pics!

Tangolady and Skywatcher: Way cool!! I had my hair cut like Dorothy Hamill one time – when I lived in Atlanta. And my friend and I would go a couple of times a week to skate. I loved how my hair flowed – as I hung on to the bar all the way around the rink. (ha ha) Obviously, I was not a very good skater … so I am full of admiration for those who so gracefully glide on the ice. My main reason for going was to check out the Hockey Players who had practice right after the regular skate hours were over. : )

Hey Belizegial!! Happy Independence Day!!

Hi Lois: – beautifully written!

Hey Sylvia: – have been thinking about you today!

Hi Lady Base Camp – what an interesting life you have! I’ve been fascinated by so much of what you have written … just haven’t had time to do much posting recently. Thanks for letting us ‘in’ on a little bit of your very interesting life!

Safari Soul – Thanks for sharing your impressions about Pop&Me. I was so moved by your story of your Mom calling to sing “I just called to say I love you”. What a beautiful, poignant memory for you. Very touching.

Hi Willemina – I’ll be curious to hear what you think of ‘Red Eye’ too! For those of you who don’t visit my Blog – my nieces’ husband, Jake, is one of the producers on ‘Red Eye’ … so I’m interested to hear what people think about it. Tonight is also the premiere (in LA) for his first movie where his name is in the credits (first one up) – and that is for ‘A History of Violence’. It got a standing ‘O’ at Cannes … and they are all very excited about. He is also in the Trailer for ‘Just Friends’ (which comes out in November) – he is the guy at the end – who says, ‘Merry Christmas, neighbor’ … and gets hit with a snow ball. He is a producer on that as well. Yeah Jake! So proud of him!! Sorry – not ‘bragging’ … just very excited! He has really worked hard for this!

Hello Connie – have a great trip to D.C. Good for you!

And I loved Connie, Melanie and Linda’s comments to Anonymous. All different. All honest. All with feeling. Several other people (besides that Anon) have also written about this being a situation where people have lost their values … morals … etc. and I don’t know that it is up to any of us to ‘judge’ what others have ‘become’ on this venture. We are all different. We all approach life differently. We all have our own style and way of moving into relationships. This certainly, for the majority of us, has been a very different type of approach in getting to know a man. And I’m fairly certain that none of us could have predicted how things would play out along the way. I would hope that, at this stage, we could all celebrate with those who are in the midst of the journey … and accept that every one who has come into this deserves the right to ‘play it’ their way. It’s their choice. And their right. There are some absolutely amazing women involved in this journey … and I feel that they all deserve the right to enjoy these last few weeks before ‘the decision’ – without negativity or comments that are intended to belittle or ‘put down’. As Lake Boater says – feels like a ‘breath of fresh air’ for the past couple of days – and I take that as meaning without negativity. (Apologies if I’ve misunderstood your intent). I feel honored to ‘know’ so many of these wonderful ‘Bloggettes’ … and no matter what the outcome … I will be here to support those who are part of this journey. In my opinion, we are all better … for having known each other. That includes the Ladies … Richard … Joe … Umberto … Nancy … the 'strong and silent types' ... and all who have been a part of this very interesting experience.

But … until the decision is made
Chicago … here we come! : )

Have a good one!!

Warm regards,

Brenda

Aloha ROEmeoow, jOE and posse!
I watched the drama unfold with the JetBlue passenger plane making an emergency landing at LAX earlier!
I had this wild notion ...what if our 'Leading Man' is on that flight to New York from L.A ?? Who knows, he can travel anywhere at anytime at a moments notice ;) Thank goodness the Pilot managed to land safely with all 139 passengers! Now hurricane rita a category 5, 3rd strongest in recorded history, G-D protect all those in her path!

SKYWATCHER 'ELLA': Here's the poem:

AND A YOUTH SAID, SPEAK TO US OF FRIENDSHIP:
AND HE ANSWERED, SAYING:
YOUR FRIEND IS YOUR NEEDS ANSWERED.
HE IS YOUR FIELD WHICH YOU SOW WITH LOVE AND REAP WITH THANKSGIVING
AND HE IS YOUR BOARD AND YOUR FIRESIDE.
FOR YOU COME TO HIM WITH YOUR HUNGER, AND YOU SEEK HIM FOR PEACE.

WHEN YOUR FRIEND SPEAKS HIS MIND YOU FEAR NOT THE "NAY" IN YOUR OWN MIND, NOR DO YOU WITHHOLD THE "AY"
AND WHEN HE IS SILENT YOUR HEART CEASES NOT TO LISTEN TO HIS HEART;
FOR WITHOUT WORDS, IN FRIENDSHIP, ALL THOUGHTS, ALL DESIRES, ALL EXPECTATIONS ARE BORN AND SHARED, WITH JOY THAT IS UNACLAIMED

WHEN YOU PART FROM YOUR FRIEND, YOU GRIEVE NOT;
FOR THAT WHICH YOU LOVE MOST IN HIM MAY BE CLEARER IN HIS ABSENCE, AS THE MOUNTAIN TO THE CLIMBER IS CLEARER FROM THE PLAIN.
AND LET THERE BE NO PURPOSE IN FRIENDSHIP SAVE THE DEEPENING OF THE SPIRIT.
FOR LOVE THAT SEEKS AUGHT BUT THE DISCLOSURE OF ITS OWN MYSTERY IS NOT LOVE BUT A NET CAST FORTH: AND ONLY THE UNPROFITABLE IS CAUGHT.
AND LET YOUR BEST BE FOR YOUR FRIEND.
IF HE MUST KNOW THE EBB OF YOUR TIDE, LET HIM KNOW ITS FLOOD ALSO.
FOR WHAT IS YOUR FRIEND THAT YOU SHOULD SEEK HIM WITH HOURS TO KILL?
SEEK HIM ALWAYS WITH HOURS TO LIVE
FOR IT IS HIS TO FILL YOUR NEED, BUT NOT YOUR EMPTINESS
AND IN THE SWEETNESS OF FRIENDSHIP LET THERE BE LAUGHTER, AND SHARING OF PLEASURES.
FOR IN THE DEW OF LITTLE THINGS THE HEART FINDS ITS MORNING AND IS REFRESHED.

a rocker fan, i'm not a bon jovi fan. don't even know about jon bon jovi's music even though i know his name, but i watched him on oprah today also. yep, he is very sexy, and i was most impressed with him. i thought he was very humble, and real, and caring. i loved that he's been married to his wife for 16 yrs and he's still so in love with her, and they have 4 children. i love what he and his football team did for those children, as well as getting ready to build 4 habitat homes. the million dollars from him and his band members was the icing on the cake.

Good night, Ladies,

Remarkable drama with the landing at LAX this afternoon. It literally happened outside our doors here in Manhattan Beach. We had only look up in the sky to watch the plane circling, burning off fuel. Can't imagine what went through the passengers' minds. "Coeur-age."

A few more surprises up our sleeves for you wonderful women that need a little more time to percolate- so sleep tight!

IT’s been an interesting few days for me. I am a teacher too, Leslie--high school sub for 15 years and now am certified by National Health Institute to teach various emergency medical and outdoor safety and survival classes. I am prepping for CPR/first aid teaching tomorrow. I have been helping my friend, who sold her salmon tender and bought a hotel, set it up and run it. --finally computerized. As hotel concierge the things I’ve run into have been too weird for words; everything from “There is a dead seagull on my window” to “Tell my dad not to send the fish because we are on hurricane alert and Houston airport is shut down.”

Coming through here are mostly wealthy hunters and fishermen looking for world class vacation, all kinds of physically beautiful men with Brillo pad souls who apparently think it’s okay to mentally abuse service workers. They get a big surprise when they step in front of me and do that. I go Starship Enterprise, Mayberry RFD and Steven Hawking on them all at once, scaring the tar out of them with my “Yes, I really am a crazy cannibal and you are stuck in my isolated town” look, and suddenly they are the best little boys on the block. Talk about people who need to be spanked! It takes a lot of energy to straighten these people out but I have no fear for job security and can be creative. I am actually very good at helping people feel at home and enjoy the wonders of my town. But Americans need better behavior in public. I’m shocked that women, minorities and people of low self esteem in service work are still going through this kind of treatment in this day and age.

That could possible explain why my attitude toward men today is not good. Help me change it up ladies? inspire me? Last night I had a funny dream that was actually a bit of nightmare. Benny Hinn was dressed in his wonderful ice cream suit and he had his arm out stiff against my head shouting god incantations and trying to bowl me over. I could feel the power and could only resist by shouting back “LET ME GO. RIGHT NOW!” over and over as loud as I could. This dream was about male power.
--->>Story continued in my blogger. Please be advised of adult language and situations. --serious Oprah level stuff. Opera Wench, If you have time, I would like you to read it as it is about “settling for whomever"

Dear Richard and Friends,

Revisiting Fun, Adventure and Romance as the base from which all THIS sb.com has bloomed:

It is very coincidential to peer at the images which rise from the smoke of the
SKELETON WOMAN story found on page 132 in Women Who Run With the Wolves.

1. Could you, Richard, be the Fisherman and any one of us the Skeleton Woman?

2. "To love, one must not only be strong, but wise. Strength comes from the spirit. Wisdom comes from Skeleton Woman."

3. "Death is always in the process of incubating new life, even when one's existence has been cut down to the bones."

It is fun thinking and sharing with you all. My thinking can not solve my thinking.

We have cracked open our souls hoping for the dream that has become a journey of our own and made big changes. I want to hang on to these changes in my life though the forces of my community do not support that. The concept of love is easy to carry on when you are surrounded by renaissance architecture and fire works but it needs to be indelible and cherished in our hearts where ever we go; Beverly Hills or Bosnia. It's a good time to think about protecting ourselves and defining our goals. For many of you women, experiencing the same awakening, the average extraordinary man will do just fine once you find him. I am seeing that A Great Extraordinary man is likely even too much for many. However we choose to court in the future, Richard has raised the bar for us. In order to have great men in our lives we have to be great women.

I’ve been kicking around this planet a long time now and the choices never end. I like the idea of setting the bar high and I haven’t felt like that for a very long time.

Richard made our searches much more difficult and easier at the same time. If we have been willing to look inside of our own hearts, what we want in a man AND WHAT WE WANT IN OURSELVES is just that much more clearly defined and yet that definition itself creates a ruthless elimination process of what we don’t want in our lives. Clarity is a gift. Thank you Richard and ladies.

Hellooooooo? Now just because I'm a blond

doesn't mean that I'm automatically stupid. So I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told me last year.....namely that in 1 year these windows would pay for themselves.....

WOW! I can't believe this! Things were going so nicely on the blog. No smart cracks, no snippyness, no ripping up our host. What happened? Well, I am happy that it is not directed at me! I just breezed through the blog to catch up on what's going on and there is another fight. For what it is worth, I said right from the beginning, this blog is being run by Richard. He and Joe are our hosts. If they think someone should stop appearing on the blog they will take control! We are guests! We are invited guests!! What is so difficult to understand about that? If the "HOSTS" want anonymous writers to identify themselves, they will say so. If they want certain things to stop, they will take care of it.

So many good things have come from this blog. I think this snottyness should stop. "Go placidly amid the noise and haste -- Without surrender be on good terms with all persons".

Bon Automne a Tous! The first day of Fall has begun with beautiful sunshine here. And it is going to be mid-20s by the weekend. The end of an exciting summer meeting and making so many new friends and the beginning of an exciting journey for some.

Connie aka best roomie - have a great trip to DC - think of me holding up a spiritual "Give Peace A Chance" sign, too. BTW, did my mail arrive yet?

Willy got your email and will attend to those things soon. Have a great day.

Richard Work hard, get it done, and get some rest this weekend. {{ }}

MERRYMARY! We've been up a looong time in the quiet wee hours on this beautiful new day (the MOON is STILL round & bright, but sadly, beginning to wane). The sun will be rising soon. I want to get OUT and watch it come UP, so “brevity” is my challenge right now, and not an easy one with so many women and so little time (anyone else here have that problem?). I'm still trying to catch up and make notes for the many women I’ve been wanting to address and who have stirred my thoughts, heart, & imagination (YOU are in that growing group)….

LADY BASE CAMP! Wow... from the beginning your incredible mind & life experience JUMPED out onto the page! I love your writing, and look forward to each of your "thought provoking" posts. I hope to meet you also, and have a feeling that it will happen for a lot of us...SOMEDAY. I have so many questions for you, but as you know (and probably don't really care, which is one thing I love about your unconventional, BOLD & free-spirited attitude), "brevity" scores "especially high points" with RR (is he really keeping score? He is a jock, you know!). Oh well, that's what scrolling is for & now perhaps the pharmaceutical industry can capitalize on THAT one, too (Scrollitis-inflamitis)! I'd like to hear more about your writing & will be happy to help you with first person info on the "Follie Dollies" for character reference in the play you are writing. I love writing, also, and WRITERS. You have a special gift and we're all fortunate that you are sharing it with us, albeit in bits & pieces...

MARY R! Hello! I have followed you from the beginning and love your depth, fun, open & adventurous spirit, goodwill, coeur-age, & ability to step "out of the box!" You are a character with character and maybe will be a character in one of Lady Base Camps plays someday! I laughed when you said you bought 12 copies of "Women Who Run With The Wolves" for your friends, many years ago.. I did the same thing! You, Honestgal, & Lady Base Camp have brought back memories of some fabulous stories for our wild, free spirits, & the feminine wisdom that grows with age after we've risen from the ashes (again & again)...

WILLEMINA! Your kind, bright spirit shines through on the blog and always has. You are another priceless "gift" to us all and I'd like to extend my thanks to you, NOW, for your kind comments about my "Grandma & Me" (hey, could this be a new title for the next documentary? Or how about, "MOM & Me" as a sequel?). Yes, yes, back to brevity... :)

ANONOMOUS LADY JAYNE! You made me smile when recalling your memories of "Walter Brennan". He was a classic, wasn't he? There is an article in TODAY'S HEALTH (March 1960) with a picture of my grandmother & he on the cover. The article’s title is "Grandmother With Grease Paint." Here are a couple of paragraphs which illustrate the close friendship my Grandma & Walter Brennan shared...
"One day when Madge reported back to work after being written out of the show (The Real McCoy's) for a couple of weeks, Brennan, the crusty old professional, embraced her & told her fondly she was "well padded, just the way I like girls." (Don't you just love that in a man? I don't think this is on RR's list of "F"s, however, so let's put the Hagan-Daz back in the freezer, girls. If we get the axe, THEN we can celebrate, OK?). The article went on to say that Brennan says he & Madge Blake agree on one important point about middle-age. "I have a special group of friends who are exceptions to the rule, 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks.' When I first met Madge and heard her story, I immediately welcomed her to membership in our group." (I have often wondered if he welcomed her into his membership 'outside' of the group, as well!). Oh my, now that’s a picture! Yikes..…

CLICKGIRL! What can I say? I LOVE YOU (I'm not gay, either! NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!!)… You are the consummate diplomat with a heart of gold. Objective and fair, you are a treasure and I think that we have all respected the compassion & integrity you've displayed here on the blog from the very beginning, to each & EVERY one. Thank you for being a model for our CLASS. I imagine that the challenges you’ve faced with your health have transformed you dramatically, increasing your sensitivity & ability to recognize THE IMPORTANT THINGS...

CHICKADEES! I’d like to address so many of you whom I have enjoyed so much from the beginning of this JOURNEY...Today, however, I'm practicing "brevity” & will try to give the "thought-provoking passages" a rest, as difficult as that will be. If I get carried away by the moment & feel the need to post a passage, please feel free to cyber-spank. I give my permission & will most likely thank you for it in the morning, when the initial sting is gone.

For 'DREAMWEAVER'... ”If in the twilight of memory we should meet once more, we shall speak again together & you shall sing to me a deeper song. And if our hands should meet in another dream we shall build another tower in the sky…”---Kahlil Gibran

Good Morning Richard and Ladies

As I said months ago, I am really not good coming back to acknowledge just certain bloggers. You are all so helpful and I don't want to hurt feelings by missing anyone.

But, but, but (I try not to use that word too much either because I was told that only ONE half of the "BUT" sentence is really the truth." Anyway:

Page 129 I have highlighted, folded back and the cornors turned back.

"The mate for the wildish woman is the one who has a soulful tenacity and endurance, one who can send his own instinctual nature to peek under the tent of a woman's soul-life and comprehend what he sees and hears there. The good match is the man who keeps returning to try to understand, who does not let himself be deterred."Women Who Run with the Wolves
ISBN 0-345-37744-3
Thank you lady base camp for sharing another "TIP".

I too am friendly but not quit tamed yet.

I am very lucky to have had this unplanned single life after my 31 year right out of high school marriage. It has allowed me the freedom of many decisions.
I hope and pray that some day it will be right that I use what I have learned in only one "Base Camp" with the Love of my life. The proper team is so much more effective then only one.
Again, Richard, Thanks for your "Mission and Team." At this point us ladies are still part of the sb.com Talented Caring Team.

Good Luck Connie. Remember, that you make a positive, suportive, nuturing difference everywhere you go.

Extra prayers still coming for Sylvia even though I was once told "Don't waste your time praying if you don't know it will work. Just know that, with help, things will be different then you could have done or planned yourself."

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Hi Gold & Spice. I have a slighty different version of "Disiderata" Go placidly amid the noise and haste - Without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.- Keep interested in your own career, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Observe the virtue and goodness that surround you; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. - Be ourself. - Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself - You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. - Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. - With all it's sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Found in Old Saint Pauls Church in Baltimore, Dated 1692, Unknown Author. Skywatcher "Ella" sounds like something you could have written or "LadyBase Camp" with all your insights into life. You are both so beautifully written. Ella, yes everytime I think of Walter Brennan and your Grandmother, I get a smile on my face. Folks like those mentioned above and Walter Chronkite, just make me smile and feel warm and safe. Keep writing "Lady Base Camp" and "Ella". You are both quite gifted. ANONYMOUS, Lady Jayne

MaryRose: Thanks for the positive comments on 'Women who Run'. And thanks for the book info!

LadyBase: I concur with you on 'coyote dick'! I believe some fellows should leave their one legged friend in the nettles!

My favorite story from WWR is from Chapter Four, The Mate: Union with the Other regarding the Wild Man seeking his soul mate. "From Babylonian mythos, the cedar-thighed Inanna calls to her lover, The Bull Plow, "Come cover me with your wildness....if a woman wants a mate who is responsive...she will reveal to him the secret of women's duality (outer being and an interior)....she does this by teaching her mate to ask her two deceptively simple questions that will cause her to feel seen, heard and known....

...the mate for the wildish woman is the one who has a souldful tenacity and endurance, one who can send his own instinctual nature to peek under the tent of a woman's soul and comprehend what he sees and hears there....

...So the wildish task of the man is to find her true names, and not to misuse that knowledge to seize power over her, but rather to apprehend and comprehend the numinous substance from which she is made, to let it wash over him, amaze him, shock him, even spook him. And to stay with it. And to sing out her anmes over her. It will make her eyes shine. It will make his eyes shine."

Oops, too long of a post.
Hugs to all.

SKYWATCHER 'ELLA': Wow how'd you do that? Made me cry again, I guess when I shed a tear it means the words truly touch the Soul! Of course....Kahlil Gibran!
I have to read this book y'all talking about 'Women Running With Wolves' owwww ;)

AND A MAN SAID, SPEAK TO US OF SELF-KNOWLEDGE.
AND HE ANSWERED, SAYING:
YOUR HEARTS KNOW IN SILENCE THE SECRETS OF THE DAYS AND NIGHTS.
BUT YOUR EARS THIRST FOR THE SOUND OF YOUR HEART'S KNOWLEDGE.
YOU WOULD KNOW IN WORDS THAT WHICH YOU HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN IN THOUGHT.
YOU WOULD TOUCH WITH YOUR FINGERS THE NAKED BODY OF YOUR DREAMS.

AND IT IS WELL YOU SHOULD.
THE HIDDEN WELL-SPRING OF YOUR SOUL MUST NEEDS RISE AND RUN MURMERING TO THE SEA;
AND THE TREASURE OF YOUR INFINITE DEPTHS WOULD BE REVEALED TO YOUR EYES.
BUT LET THERE BE NO SCALES TO WEIGH YOUR UNKNOWN TREASURE;
AND SEEK NOT THE DEPTHS OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE WITH STAFF OR SOUNDING LINE.
FOR SELF IS A SEA BOUNDLESS AND MEASURELESS.

SAY NOT, "I HAVE FOUND THE TRUTH",
BUT RATHER, "I HAVE FOUND A TRUTH."
SAY NOT, "I HAVE FOUND THE PATH OF THE SOUL." SAY RATHER, "I HAVE MET THE SOUL WALKING UPON MY PATH."
FOR THE SOUL WALKS NOT UPON A LINE, NEITHER DOES IT GROW LIKE A REED.
THE SOUL UNFOLDS ITSELF, LIKE A LOTUS OF COUNTLESS PETALS.

I love this poem!

(my favourite of his poems is LOVE)
to be continued.....
Skywatcher "ella" please get the 'green light' ;)to tell us more about RR, there is such depth in his eyes!

hey VJ, i like that nickname, MoonGoddess for SKYWATCHER, ...

PAULA: how does a Brunette get her husband to take out the garbage? - i forgot the punchline, and maybe i don't even have the joke right ('m bad for that)...but anyway, being brunette i can joke at my own expense,,,lol, anyway, if you know this joke re-tell it for me, ok?

HONESTGAL: YES yes yes, i have read Woman Who Run with The Wolves, (in 1993-94, while in the process of separating from my husband, ah, i mean X, ) it is absolute one of my favourites, and i still re-read it. Reading it for the first time was a very sureal experience for me, i was clearing 4.4 acres of partially old-growth forrest, and building a house in this "enchanted forrest"...it was truly an transcendent experience for me, one that left a permanent mark on me...thanks for reminding me...there might be lessons i need to re-learn!

reading this Blog i sure feel the "universal unconsciouse" at work here, so much that is said is what i am thinking and feeling...is anyone else out there experiencing this? ahhh. Kahil Gibran's "Prophet" another old friend...
darn, i forgot to watch Oprah, i wanted to see the BonJovi interview, i love his music!

BDNC, I am remembering a story about the writing "Disiderata". It has been said that this writing was never found in the old church in Baltimore in 1692, and it was said the whole thing was a fraud. So, it could be that your author from 1952 is the true owner of this writing. I can't see how he could copyright a work that was not his own. This might just be the true story involving this great writing. ANONYMOUS,Lady Jayne
P.S. I received my Christmas card long after 1952 so, I'll bet it just resurfaced.

Nancy, if Joe is a deep discount, sign me up for the bargain basement, lol......

Richard: I wanted to thank you for awakening a part of me I thought had died....Even though I did not sign up for your journey you did make me curious about whether I wanted another relationship...I signed up for one of the dating services; got some responses; and then I realized I love being alone and not lonely....All of the attention scared me to death, lol!! Maybe down the road I will feel differently, but now I know that right now my life is just the way I like it....And, I so appreciate all the wonderful women who have made some great relationships that will go on as you said 'with, or without, you'...Your search provided so many of us with the special opportunity to meet one another!
My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Katrina and with those threatened by Rita, and with the families of our fallen soldiers....And, with our President who has so many difficult decisions to make at this time....

At times its as though we are twins. Our bond, our closeness. Our voices. We fool everyone on the phone our parents, children because we do sound so much alike.

I always joke with her and tell her she is so much like me because I left notes for her on "the womb wall".

A sister is a blessed gift. When no one else cares or wants to listen she will!!

Top of the Afternoon to you all!

Auburn Michelle, I want to thank you again for taking the photos of me with my camera when I was singing to Richard in MB. I finally got the pics and disc back from Costco. If you would like any of the pics you took with my camera I'll be glad to email you some. They turned out so well, and are a treasured memory.

Brenda, I'm so happy for you that you will be going to Chicago!!! What a blast everyone will have there. I'm glad you enjoyed my last post. I'm a night owl and tend to do a lot of thinking at night thus the post.

BikingNut and Lady Base Camp, I love learning about your lives in San Diego! One of my favorite places to hang out and journal is a little park at the end of Law Street. PB, especially Garnet Ave. is a big bar, party block for the college students. My favorite beach sites are the south end of Mission Beach near the jetty, and La Jolla shores.

Lady Base Camp, I posted over on your site. Thanks for your direction there.

Callmelin, I'm happy that you enjoyed all the "cheese" at MB! It was much more fun for me to do that then to crowd on the steps for the group photos. There were a lot of smiles with that "cheese" which is a favorite memory of the MB event.

To you all, did you know that National Geographic puts out its' own travel magazine?? I saw an issue at a doctor's office, and I will probably subscribe to it. It's called "National Geographic Traveler", natch. Just go to the National Geographic website to find out more info.

A heads up for all of the Ladies going to the Chicago SB event:
As one of the ladies who attended the MB event I just wanted to say something concerning meeting Richard. For one reason or another there were a few ladies that were in a "tither" at MB because they didn't get a chance to chat personally with Richard. Please remember that in Chicago there may be appx 200 of you ladies there. Many of you will not get a "personal" moment with Richard, and the closest you'll get to him will be the small group meetings. Now Richard, being the gregarious soul that he is, will try to greet each one of you in some fashion. If it doesn't happen for you however please don't have a cow, horse and pig over it. I think it's best to keep your expectations in check concerning Richard(disclaimer: this is not meant to be a negative statement in any way, just common sense). Go to Chicago with the expectations of seeing a wonderful city, meeting some phenominal women, doing some really fun activities, and hearing from the Senior Bachelor himself and getting to see him in the flesh.

As for me, every thing I did at the MB event(except the seranading on Friday night, and taking advantage of the great meals provided at the hotel) was spontaneous. I had no idea what to expect when I went to MB and I had the best possible time.

So keep the Chicago event fun and keep your expectations in check...:)

Love to you all,
Lois

Hi Lady Base Camp, You have really cracked me up today. I quote "Physically Beautiful Men With Brillo Pad Souls". I can't stop laughing. I have met a few "dorks" along the road of being single, but would have never thought to name them "Brillo Pad Souls". You are too Funny!!! Ella, Skywatcher and yourself have brought so much new interest to the blog. I can hardly stop laughing, Lady Base. You have cracked me up! Also, now I feel like researching "Brutus" and "Janus". I think Richard has created a whole new "High Tech" Information System. I think he is a professor at UCLA so maybe he intended on this blog becoming educational in addition to Romance and Traveling!!
Really lots of fun!!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I was away so long today. Several out of office business meetings away from the computer. Am trying to "clear the decks" for next week!

So many positive and encouraging comments I've read today- I apologize I can't acknowledge them all and greet the new bloggers. Back to school night tonight so I may not have time later to remark. Thanks to everyone!

To the "anons" who are posting negative and mean comments- please go somewhere else. You are not welcome here and you will be deleted. If you have such sick and despicable needs to do such things, do it to yourselves and your family-- stay away from ours on this blog.

Let's see--- may be starting a new blog soon as scrolli-itis is setting in and I may have some news about next week!

Janus is the Roman god of gates and doors (ianua), beginnings and endings, and hence represented with a double-faced head, each looking in opposite directions. He was worshipped at the beginning of the harvest time, planting, marriage, birth, and other types of beginnings, especially the beginnings of important events in a person's life. Janus also represents the transition between primitive life and civilization, between the countryside and the city, peace and war, and the growing-up of young people.

Hello Richard, Joe, Umberto and Ladies:
Can you believe....one week from this moment some of us will be sharing time together. It is finally almost here. I am so excited.
Richard, so many of us are so anxious to meet you. Joe and Umberto, thank you so much for helping Richard with this wonderful adventure. It sounds as if this trip to Chicago is going to be one of many memories made!!!
Clickgirl, I viewed your blog site and it is very nice, thank you for posting names of some of the ladies that are going to Chicago. I am hoping to meet many of them. I think this is so awesome and it gives us the opportunity to make lasting friendships from ladies all over. Afterall, life is so short, we all must try to be positive for one another. There is enough sadness and negativity in this world already. Live each day as if it were your last and keep a positive attitude.
We are going to have a wonderful time in Chicago!!!!!
Take care and God Bless.
Cheers,

Hello Chicago Bound Bloggettes!!

Here are a few things some of us ‘long-term’ Bloggettes are doing to help prepare for the SB Chicago event:

Room Mates:
If you are looking for a room mate – please post your request on my Blog or send me an Email. We are trying to connect people who want to room together! We had one successful ‘match’ last night!
(Joe - I was able to match Annie with Barbara - so they are 'good to go')!

The Chicago Bloggette List:
We also have a list of those who have said they are planning to attend - that is posted on my Blog. If you can check our list and make sure we have your name – we are passing that along to Joe and Richard as well. I'll be making some revisions tonight - so if you can take a minute to check your name ... and let me know it is accurate ... it would be appreciated!

Your Photos on the Web
And … if you would like your photo posted on the NNBB Sisterhood Web … contact Linda
(in Tucson) … and she will include you with the rest of the gals.
All are welcome!!
(Even those who are not able to make it to Chicago)

Photos from Chicago
Linda will also be posting photos for us - that we take in Chicago. These are not to be confused with the great photos that will be posted here – on the SB Blog! They will not be as good as Umberto’s … but he can only be in one place at a time … so we will help him out. Ha Ha

Looking forward to meeting everyone in Chicago!!

Okay – I’m going to pull out my old, worn Kahlil Gibran writings! I love it!!

Welcome Mariette from the Netherlands!!

Thanks Willemina! And Linda P!

Yeah Cathy! I see your pic!

Go Connie! Good for you! Wish I was going with you!

Gold & Spice – Ditto!

Hey, Hey Paula – ha ha ha ha!
(If I could do music notes – I’d put them next to the ‘Hey, Hey Paula’). : )
And … I agree! Be Better, Not Bitter! Could be our ‘motto’. : )

Thanks Linda! It’s that ‘attention to detail’ thing that I have been blessed/cursed with! Ha Ha

Hey Lois – Yep – ‘night owls’ we are! Also – thanks for the constructive comments. I think it is good to hear from the perspective of someone who has ‘been there’. Especially … when it is presented in a kind manner. : )

Hey Babette and Lady Jayne Thanks!! Love Desiderata. One of my favorites!

Also – Lady Jayne - just want to make sure you know …when people refer to ‘Anonymous posters’- that you are no longer one. You are ‘one of us’ and I wouldn’t want you to think that those comments were for you. Know what I mean? : )

And Babette - I have missed you!! Can’t you come to Chicago?!!

Hi Lady Base Camp – love your description of getting the hunters and fishermen in shape! And your Benny Hinn dream – LOL!! And thank you for all of your great thoughts! Will check out your Blog in a bit!

Thanks Sharing the Night aka Wanda. I appreciate your kind words to me … and your wise words about this journey. I was thinking – I don’t want to censor anyone – or have people feeling like they can’t express themselves – BUT – after all of this time we have pretty much ‘heard it all’ … ‘asked all of the questions’ … ‘heard all of the responses’ … ‘heard all of the nergativity’ … and now … as Babette so rightly said on my Blog, ‘Can’t we all just get along’?! We are nearing the end of a long time together – some of us longer than others … but it just seems to me that we could all let go of any of the frustration, bitterness and anger … and spend the remaining time celebrating and lifting each other up. Most are already doing that … and it is so refreshing. I loved what Lady Base Camp had to say in her last post. That is the kind of ‘stuff’ I want to be reading … and sharing with all of you. And I want the joy to be spilling out … not all of that ‘nergative’ stuff!

Hey Skywatcher … I’m hoping that, if we are ‘nice’, Richard will forgive those of us who are not blessed with the gift of ‘brevity’. (ha ha) Here’s hoping … : )

Thanks also – for such nice words. (See - ‘nice’ – so you too can be forgiven for long posts – ha ha). Seriously … Thank You. I was just raised with a ‘do unto others’ philosophy … and going into my senior year in high school my ‘big brother’, was paralyzed in a tragic accident. What I learned from him changed my life … and nothing that I have experienced in my life (including having cancer) could begin to compare with what he had to endure as a young man of 28. It was one of the saddest moments of my life … but the one that has made the most difference in me becoming who I am today. If I can’t be positive – with all of the many blessings that I have in my life – then something is really wrong. And … it is a choice that I make … and we all make … every day. : )

Honestgal – Not too long a post! Perfect. : )

DragonFlyFilly – Yes. Me too. I’m thinking … ‘Deep Thoughts’. : )

Richard and Joe: While you guys are working so hard ... we will just continue on 'philosophizing' on the Blog. : )

Thanks to All of you! For an amazing ‘read’ tonight!

Peace.

Brenda

Sylvia,

Things are crazy for this weekend & next week. Call me in Oct. & then we can talk. Thanks for your interest. Hope things are going well.

Paula: Dolly Parton used to say I don’t mind dumb blonde jokes; I’m neither. Dentists though are nothing to laugh about unless the gas. Hope no pain. I’d rather go to the doc than the dentist usually

Connie: Told my relative to look for you & say Hi & ask for the bubble story. Have a safe & successful ( getting George to get out?) trip.

Gold&spice: All & more than you probably want to know about Desiderata http://www.fleurdelis.com/desidera.htm
There is a widows/ers group here called Janus for all the reasons sighted above.

I love going to the dentist! It is the closest thing I can get to a date here. Dr. Urata is a beautiful Japanese man and he laughs when I call him Dr Erotica. I try not to think of WWII when I am under the drill.
I thought it was “Oh What a night. Late September back in 63” . . My daughter asked me once, “Who is Jane of Fools” She explained, the lyrics of the song went :Jane Jane Jane. . . Jane of fools. . . ( forgive her, Aretha) It’s the Autumn Equinox now 50º and raining and I bought a 2 person sea kayak today. I am so excited I can’t wait for the next calm warm day. It is wide with very good hydrodynamics and 22’ long. IT’s a Necky . I will use it on the lake first. I bought it from my friend Seawan who owns Coastal Outfitters and she is going to go with me on my first ocean paddles.
Mary r : “The proper team is so much more effective then only one.”-- INTERESTING statement that I completely disagree with. . . but I may be wrong. Could you define “effective” and “proper team” and maybe I could see your point? Why is “one” not effective? I think “proper team” is a mind set we are taught to believe, originally perpetuated by the church for better control of people. . .the merging personalities in many marriages actually negates the power of TWO INDIVIDUALS and that is the danger of marriage. I have often admired Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and others for not giving in to the trappings of tradition and making their own path. Church and state have no business in the jurisdiction of love. When you want and need to get a divorce, it can be a huge difficulty. So Gay people can’t get married and straight people can’t get a divorce, I don’t get it. Partnering is one of the most incredibly satisfying things in the world but I do not think it is more effective in any way. . . I might be wrong. In fact, for people who loose themselves within the marriage, I think it is less effective. “One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do. Two can be as bad as one It's the loneliest number since the number one” Three Dog Night 1969

“chose to say 'no thank you, you keep it'"... Keep smiling everyone...
cheers from sunny Vancouver. PJ That is such a good skill to develop I like this—it is what I need to learn .
My Desiderata has line drawings 1927 by Max Ehrmann, a reprint. I have 1600 + books and most of them are in my bed! lol—not really but they do seem to swarm there. I still go to the library. I just got 9 books on Kayaking including ROWING TO LATITUDE by Jill Fredston. I know her. I interviewed her. When she was doing avalanche workshops here she gave the guys a lecture about being sure to take us girls climbing, skiing and out in the BC. It was so cool. We were all snickering.
My favorite “Janus” is the Mayor with the spinning head in NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS—I’d clean toilets with dental floss to work for Tim Burton. Seriously, I would.

Professors are hot.

Richard, Joe and the Lovely Ladies of the Blog,

I wanted to wish you all a great weekend. I am going out of town for the weekend to Washington State for my 30 year high school reunion. I'm looking forward to seeing my girlfriend that I've kept in contact with all these years from high school. It's been about 5 years since I saw her last, and she has had a granddaughter since then. I graduated from Selah high school which is a suburb of Yakima where the apples, pears, cherries and other fruits come from. I spent 13 years of my life there growing up on a horse ranch. The reunion will be on Saturday night with a BBQ dinner.

On Sunday I will have the pleasure of singing in a country church. It's a small Presbyterian church that my girlfriend and her family have been attending for many years. I'll be singing 2 hymns; "Blessed Assurance" a cappella(JOE, I finally looked this word up and it is actually 2 words 'a cappella', meaning without accompaniment), and "It is Well with my Soul" with piano accompaniment.

I will visit the Blog when I get home on Monday.

" Be cool to your school!"

Take care you all,
Lois

I think I will just drop the "ANONYMOUS" in front of Lady Jayne, and eliminate confusion for the new girls. So many of them are so gifted and talented and positive (like yourself). Dear Lois, Be careful at the reunion...that's where I got husband #4 and since we had a parting of the ways,,,,,,problems in Paradise...Had been long distant dating with another from my class that lives in San Diego now...That's by you, right? His name is Bill Newman . He went to college there and did a long time in the Navy during Vietnam. I've been out to see him twice but he got mad at me "cause I started dating someone here in Tulsa. I love both of your songs. Do you know the story behing"It is well

We were pretty poor when I was young due to Daddy's drinking and gambling but we loved him and Moma stayed with him thru thick and thin...51 years. I really enjoy your letters on the blog and Lady Base Camper too and all of you. We are each unique. Poor RR,,,,has his work cut out for him.
Here's another Paula joke....to start the day with a laugh...Did you here about the 2 blonds that froze to death? “Initially, two partners cannot be sure what they are doing together or how far their relationship can go. Yet through testing the power of their connection—the depth of their love, & their capacity to handle its challenges—they become clearer about its place in their lives & can thus honor & affirm it more wholeheartedly. Instead of starting out as a promise—“Till death do us part”—spoken at the marriage alter, conscious commitment is something that develops more gradually. It is a more advanced stage of a relationship that evolves out of successfully navigating many earlier tests & challenges. Such a commitment is awake & alive. Unlike something manufactured out of duty, hope, or preconceived ideas, it emerges organically from the relationship’s own ripening, & is full of passion, freshness, & spontaneity--- the very juice of love…”

True to form, I sit here laughing my head off over Lady Base Camp's writings ( I laugh so hard, I might just burst). Then I read what Skywatcher "Ella" sends to us and I calm down. That is pretty profound. These ladies are masters at creating emotion, "All Good". I have to get off this blog. I am involved in a "coup d'e-tat" within my perfume bottle association (not started by myself). This could directly effect the sales of my book so, I am trying to play peacemaker. Brenda our club needs you to mediate. The Grande Dame of our perfume bottle asso. has resigned. The president is standing firm in his convictions. It is a mess!! I know what is fueling things, but I can't present what I know. Anyway, I am off the blog until later this evening. LADY JAYNE
