Good Morning to All and Aloha,

Gawd, yet another beautiful day here in Maui. After blogging I am off to work-out. Then Gayle and I have a 10 am reservation for some tennis. Then what? maybe snorkel/surf.

Our Cousin (another Richard/Dick) who lives on the island called very early this am and is taking us out in his sea vessel tomorrow to fish.

Hope y'all don't mind me going on about this wonderful trip and I will have some great photos to post one day soon.

Hugs to All

Deb

Hey ladies, this is INDEPENDENCE DAY in Belize. That means we all get to stay home and PARTY. Firecrackers and caribbean music galore. The great troubador LORD LARO is in town for the celebrations and kicking it into high gear with his high stepping songs and compositions.

It appears that everyone will be having a grand ole time in Chicago. I can't wait to see the pics that will be coming out from this very happening event.

Richard, are you excited yet????

GOOD MORNING ALL --Hope all is well with all the Chickadee. Richard shared with us at one of the meetings in MB how he came to call us his Chickadees. Guess one morning when he went into his office and saw all the pictures and Bio's he put his hands together (finger-tips touching) and said "so my little chickadee what do you have for me today" He said it with a W.C. Fields accent and I don't know about everyone else but I sure felt the Love. There is a picture of Richards hands with fingertips touching on the Blog. I guess a mans eyes might steal the heart but the hands tell of both the strength and gentleness of the man himself.

Lois - I would love to come down your way sometime and attend an opera with you or better yet to hear you sing. I'll never forget the 'cheese' note you held that had us all smiling for our staircase photo at the Ayers. You are so lovely.

Connie - thank you for representing PEACE in our world. I lost my husband to a service related death. The concept of war physically hurts me, why can't we find a better way.

Mary Rose - I so enjoyed meeting you a MB. We didn't get to spend much time together but I like your style and your sense of adventure has inspired me to get out and Yehaw....

Leslie - So glad I got to spend the evening with you at the pier that first night with Richard. A sunset over the Pacific with Richard Roe WOW were we lucky or what.

Linda - Hope all is well with you, your weather in Az should be just about perfect about now, enjoy.

Debeddy - Still hope to get together with you when you return, I'll be passing through your town on my way to Donner Lake. Let me know what your Fall schedule is like......

I'm going to try to post a picture and play with the Blog today so stay tuned. I hope I can get it right just haven't tried yet, my blog site is so boring, got to get with it.........

PS -- Sylvia have a peaceful day

OH NO not fireworks!!!!! I LOVE fireworks. Now I feel a little tinge of jealousy for all you lucky girls who will be showing up on the shores of Lake MI. Well maybe I can get the boys to plan a live burn drill this weekend and throw in some colorful metal scrap, a few old cabbage patch dolls full of copper and magnesium or something. SOFT RAIN – Im going to stand up an the tail deck and tell your “all the men started clapping” rescue rope joke. I ALWAYS scroll through the jokes but I saw the word rescue. They will think I am going to make some big poignant, emotional political speech and they will laugh so hard. I am practicing so I can keep a straight face.
MELANIE ! Maynard’s WAS FALLING DOWN IN THE 70’s! A wonderful oldstyle, Indian pink adobe. It’s a GOOD thing they tore it down. Though it would be fun to re-create it upscaled. There was a geat restaurant in PB with Cable spool tables fiberglassed with inlaid oceania. Do you remember the Door, a (semi) underground, counter-culture magazine. They had the biggest cable spool table ever. People would walk across it to get to the kitchen of the big old Victorian mansion. I was on the staff. It evolved quit a bit while I was there; from The Door to Liberation, to The Door. The mansion was torn down for condos! CRIMINAL!

Ladies of MB - I know how you all must be feeling - I was excited about your trip to MB but also a but jealous that I couldn't be there to participate in the festivities. Torture!

The pictures will help you feel more a part of it as they did for me. I loved the photos.

Wish everyone could meet someday somewhere - but who knows..I hope to have some great memories when all is finished.

Linda - U Got Moxie! Love your directness and honesty. I agree, and romance and adventure is what I hope will come from this, and the adventure is about to begin. Yeah!

Love Fireworks...truly magical stuff and soooo ROEmantic! Oooh la la it's gonna be an incredible Chicago(SHEECAAGO) Soiree;)

BELIZEGAL: Iwas told the hurricane swept passed your 'neck of the woods'? Hope not! Must be beautiful there where you are!

CALLMELIN: I wholeheartedly agree with you about Richard's hands. It shows a lot of good refined character, wisdom and meticulous;) at whatever he chooses to do. Strong healing energy in his hands which I mentioned on a previous blog! The eyes are the mirrors of the Soul and one can read through to the heart of a person just by looking into the eyes! I have been told that I 'draw people in' with the gentleness and somewhat sultry expression in my eyes, whatever that means:) Then again who am I to say this, it is better left for those who truly 'see' me;) of which there is only a handful that do. My children/chikadees 'see' me as clear as crystal!

LINDAINTUCSON: You are sooo funny, miss the 'bridal attire' ;) you will NEVER grow old, nor do I wish to either, I'll have you know:)
Forever Young, I wanna be forever young, love that song...riveting!

DEBBY EDDY: Hope you don't mind my saying this but you live in a beautiful part of the world. Do you ever swim with the dolphins? I call the dolphins and when I was in South Africa one time, my Blessed Mother witnessed the telepathic transference of thoughtforms from me to them and in an instant the sea was shimmering silver with hundreds of dolphins leaping in and out! We ALL have the capacity to converse with the animals....coyotes included...ooowwwwww;)

Thoughts and prayers for those directly in the path of hurricane rita, looks like Galveston Texas etc. The storms seem to be gaining more and more momentum each and every year...what is the message here for us all? Enquiring minds wanna know;)

SWEET 'P' PHYL: wassssup girl? Do you plan to go on the cruise wid the chickadees and chikadoos(males)
next Summer to Alaska?

JOE: I've noticed you using a few Yiddish expressions, cute to see...
I better sign off for real, 'plutzing mit the heat' again this afternoon...oy vey have to shlepp the garbage out, the highlight of my week's activities!

Having FUN as usual on this hea blog....to be continued;)

There once was a bunch of tiny
frogs..who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top
of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around
the tower to see the race
and cheer on the
contestants...

The race began...

Honestly...No one in the crowd
really believed that the tiny
frogs would reach the top of
the tower

You heard statements such as:

"Oh, WAY too difficult !!! "
They will NEVER make it to the
top!!!" or:

"Not a chance that they will
succeed. The tower is too
high!!!"

The tiny frogs began
collapsing. One by one...
Except for those, who in a
fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...

The crowd continued to
yell, "It is too difficult!!!
No one will make it!!!"

More tiny frogs got tired and
gave up...But ONE continued
higher and higher and
higher...

This one wouldn't give up!!!

At the end everyone else had
given up climbing the tower.
Except for the one tiny frog
who, after a big effort, was
the only one who reached the
top!

THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know
how this one Frog managed to do
it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to Succeed and reach
the goal?

It turned out...That the winner
was DEAF!!!

The wisdom of this story is:

NEVER listen to other people's
tendencies to be negative or
pessimistic...because they take
your most wonderful dreams and
wishes away from you...the ones
you have in your heart!!!

Always think of the power words
have because everything you
hear and read affects your
actions!!! Therefore:

ALWAYS be...POSITIVE!!!

And above all:

..I don’t know where you’re

going and I don’t know why...
but listen to your heart.
Belong to your dreams.

whatever Chris had in mind, sure seemed to work;) LOL! I LOVE the part of Richard's snorin' my 'chickadee and chickadoos' laughed so hard at that particular scene, I guess they saw elements of their own 'POP' ;)....I have started giggling again, just at the thought of it!
Yes, Khalil Gibran wrote the poem, in his book called The Prophet:

YOUR CHILDREN ARE NOT YOUR CHILDREN
THEY COME THROUGH YOU BUT NOT FROM YOU
YOU MAY HOUSE THEIR BODIES BUT NOT THEIR SOULS FOR THEIR SOULS DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF TOMOROW WHICH YOU CANNOT VISIT NOT EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS
YOU MAY STRIVE TO BE LIKE THEM BUT DO NOT STRIVE TO MAKE THEM LIKE YOU
YOU ARE THE BOWS FROM WHICH YOUR CHILDREN AS LIVING ARROWS ARE SENT FORTH

I memorized this poem many years ago when I went through 'my hell' and it gave me the inner strength I needed at the time. Sorry if I neglected to remember a sentence here and there

Oh well,Mary, Mary ,Mary life is but a scream. I liked the part in Pop and Me where Richard comes in and lays down and says I used to be slim and mean and Chris says now you're fat and mean...that really tickled me. Our family are all readers. When 'Ladies Who Run with Wolves' first came out, My daughter gave it to me and I have in turn given at least a dozen away since. Why I mention this as important?? Because this year she was troubling over an unusual gift for her husband of 23 years.

I suggested(And she did do it) she give them a copy of
GUIDE TO GETTING IT ON by Paul Joannides

"In our vast library of sex books, this is by far and away the most human, enlightening and entertaining read of the lot. I'll be recommemding it until my keyboard wears out." COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE,UK

"A world-class sex manual. Whoever you are and however much sexual experience you've had, you will benefit from reading this book. I can't recommend it too highly" INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF HUMAN RELATIONS

"One of the few books about sex that you will actually want to sit down and read."PLAYBOY ADVISOR

"The only sex manual you'll ever need!" ROLLING STONES MAGAZINE Etc. etc.

It has won several awards and has published translations in 14 languages.

FYI: Any age ANYONE WHO IS FUN LOVING, ADVENTEROUS OR JUST WANTS TO KNOW SOMETHING can visit:

for the best $19.95
worth of information you can add to your bank of knowledge-- even if you might be alone*lonesome* not motivated/interested or *feeling that stage has pass. It even helps to understand others.

And my name is

And I don't sell books.

PS: Evette, that daughter is Kyle's home school teacher, Retired from being a trainer for American Airlines. Her husband is a very successful Chicago/Florida Insurance Executive & Top Level Iorn Man. They also do competative dancing.

They will tell you "It was "Out of left field but the perfect gift!."

Thanks Nancy for another great opportunity. One never knows who they really are helping.

You all will find those few days in Chicago way to short for that wonderful city.
I can sugest you just kind of remember you goal. Mine in MB was to have Fun, Meet wonderful people and show Richard that I really was who I said I was.

Too bad. The only reason I can think of is that the self appointed queen of the blog didn't like it -- I read it, and within 8 seconds it was gone. I wonder what else disappears!!
Face it, Blog police, the majority of the girls here don't like her, but do tolerate her rather nicely. Girls can do that. We support each other immensely, but when someone does step out of bounds (sound familiar someone?!) we just ignore them. The blog was like a breath of fresh air the last two days (until today) while she was gone!!

Just getting ready for the fireworks - how exciting - (No, Mary Rose I did not just go out and buy the book.)

Have not heard from Richard today, but I would like to say that I am so excited about the fireworks - it will be great fun - just hope that you (RR) did not use some of the fireworks to distroy some of the late entries.

I am having a hard time figuring out who is coming - does anyone have a list. I think that I will be able to recognize some of you wonderful women - most likely Misred will be wearing red. Paula in Florida will look like Mae West (not). Linda in Tucson will be wearing a hat - I will recognize Ilene - my roommate - she sent me her picture but I think most of the pictures of bloggers that frequently appear on the blog will not be going to Chicago.
We will need "blog nametags".

Fall is here - and now we have Rita.

Melanie -

You can check for some of the names of people going to Chicago on Click Girl's blog. If you find her name on one of these blogs (I don't think she's on this one, yet),just click on her blue name and that will take you to it.

P.S. I'm going! Hope to meet you there!

Fireworks! Very nice!

Forgive me for playing ‘catch up’ from the last Blog! I’ve been following along – but haven’t had much time to post … so I’m responding to some comments from the last round! ; )

Welcome Leslie: in Cleveland!!

Hi Annie! So glad to see you worked out how to Blog! Welcome!! Hopefully – you will have a quick response to your request! If you click on my name – you can also post your request for a room mate on my Blog – in case someone misses it on here.

And Melanie … if you go to my Blog – I have a pretty good list of everyone that has said they are going. I was hoping for input from everyone – to make sure I have included everyone. So … check it out!

Also - if people looking for room mates want to post that on my Blog - it might be easier to match people up.

Hey Debby: – Maui sounds great!! And the Snorkeling sounds incredible. I’m not sure about that shark bait thing though! (hee hee) Be careful out there … and glad you are having fun!! Can’t wait to see the pics!

Tangolady and Skywatcher: Way cool!! I had my hair cut like Dorothy Hamill one time – when I lived in Atlanta. And my friend and I would go a couple of times a week to skate. I loved how my hair flowed – as I hung on to the bar all the way around the rink. (ha ha) Obviously, I was not a very good skater … so I am full of admiration for those who so gracefully glide on the ice. My main reason for going was to check out the Hockey Players who had practice right after the regular skate hours were over. : )

Hey Belizegial!! Happy Independence Day!!

Hi Lois: – beautifully written!

Hey Sylvia: – have been thinking about you today!

Hi Lady Base Camp – what an interesting life you have! I’ve been fascinated by so much of what you have written … just haven’t had time to do much posting recently. Thanks for letting us ‘in’ on a little bit of your very interesting life!

Safari Soul – Thanks for sharing your impressions about Pop&Me. I was so moved by your story of your Mom calling to sing “I just called to say I love you”. What a beautiful, poignant memory for you. Very touching.

Hi Willemina – I’ll be curious to hear what you think of ‘Red Eye’ too! For those of you who don’t visit my Blog – my nieces’ husband, Jake, is one of the producers on ‘Red Eye’ … so I’m interested to hear what people think about it. Tonight is also the premiere (in LA) for his first movie where his name is in the credits (first one up) – and that is for ‘A History of Violence’. It got a standing ‘O’ at Cannes … and they are all very excited about. He is also in the Trailer for ‘Just Friends’ (which comes out in November) – he is the guy at the end – who says, ‘Merry Christmas, neighbor’ … and gets hit with a snow ball. He is a producer on that as well. Yeah Jake! So proud of him!! Sorry – not ‘bragging’ … just very excited! He has really worked hard for this!

Hello Connie – have a great trip to D.C. Good for you!

And I loved Connie, Melanie and Linda’s comments to Anonymous. All different. All honest. All with feeling. Several other people (besides that Anon) have also written about this being a situation where people have lost their values … morals … etc. and I don’t know that it is up to any of us to ‘judge’ what others have ‘become’ on this venture. We are all different. We all approach life differently. We all have our own style and way of moving into relationships. This certainly, for the majority of us, has been a very different type of approach in getting to know a man. And I’m fairly certain that none of us could have predicted how things would play out along the way. I would hope that, at this stage, we could all celebrate with those who are in the midst of the journey … and accept that every one who has come into this deserves the right to ‘play it’ their way. It’s their choice. And their right. There are some absolutely amazing women involved in this journey … and I feel that they all deserve the right to enjoy these last few weeks before ‘the decision’ – without negativity or comments that are intended to belittle or ‘put down’. As Lake Boater says – feels like a ‘breath of fresh air’ for the past couple of days – and I take that as meaning without negativity. (Apologies if I’ve misunderstood your intent). I feel honored to ‘know’ so many of these wonderful ‘Bloggettes’ … and no matter what the outcome … I will be here to support those who are part of this journey. In my opinion, we are all better … for having known each other. That includes the Ladies … Richard … Joe … Umberto … Nancy … the 'strong and silent types' ... and all who have been a part of this very interesting experience.

But … until the decision is made
Chicago … here we come! : )

Have a good one!!

Warm regards,

Brenda

Aloha ROEmeoow, jOE and posse!
I watched the drama unfold with the JetBlue passenger plane making an emergency landing at LAX earlier!
I had this wild notion ...what if our 'Leading Man' is on that flight to New York from L.A ?? Who knows, he can travel anywhere at anytime at a moments notice ;) Thank goodness the Pilot managed to land safely with all 139 passengers! Now hurricane rita a category 5, 3rd strongest in recorded history, G-D protect all those in her path!

SKYWATCHER 'ELLA': Here's the poem:

AND A YOUTH SAID, SPEAK TO US OF FRIENDSHIP:
AND HE ANSWERED, SAYING:
YOUR FRIEND IS YOUR NEEDS ANSWERED.
HE IS YOUR FIELD WHICH YOU SOW WITH LOVE AND REAP WITH THANKSGIVING
AND HE IS YOUR BOARD AND YOUR FIRESIDE.
FOR YOU COME TO HIM WITH YOUR HUNGER, AND YOU SEEK HIM FOR PEACE.

WHEN YOUR FRIEND SPEAKS HIS MIND YOU FEAR NOT THE "NAY" IN YOUR OWN MIND, NOR DO YOU WITHHOLD THE "AY"
AND WHEN HE IS SILENT YOUR HEART CEASES NOT TO LISTEN TO HIS HEART;
FOR WITHOUT WORDS, IN FRIENDSHIP, ALL THOUGHTS, ALL DESIRES, ALL EXPECTATIONS ARE BORN AND SHARED, WITH JOY THAT IS UNACLAIMED

WHEN YOU PART FROM YOUR FRIEND, YOU GRIEVE NOT;
FOR THAT WHICH YOU LOVE MOST IN HIM MAY BE CLEARER IN HIS ABSENCE, AS THE MOUNTAIN TO THE CLIMBER IS CLEARER FROM THE PLAIN.
AND LET THERE BE NO PURPOSE IN FRIENDSHIP SAVE THE DEEPENING OF THE SPIRIT.
FOR LOVE THAT SEEKS AUGHT BUT THE DISCLOSURE OF ITS OWN MYSTERY IS NOT LOVE BUT A NET CAST FORTH: AND ONLY THE UNPROFITABLE IS CAUGHT.
AND LET YOUR BEST BE FOR YOUR FRIEND.
IF HE MUST KNOW THE EBB OF YOUR TIDE, LET HIM KNOW ITS FLOOD ALSO.
FOR WHAT IS YOUR FRIEND THAT YOU SHOULD SEEK HIM WITH HOURS TO KILL?
SEEK HIM ALWAYS WITH HOURS TO LIVE
FOR IT IS HIS TO FILL YOUR NEED, BUT NOT YOUR EMPTINESS
AND IN THE SWEETNESS OF FRIENDSHIP LET THERE BE LAUGHTER, AND SHARING OF PLEASURES.
FOR IN THE DEW OF LITTLE THINGS THE HEART FINDS ITS MORNING AND IS REFRESHED.

a rocker fan, i'm not a bon jovi fan. don't even know about jon bon jovi's music even though i know his name, but i watched him on oprah today also. yep, he is very sexy, and i was most impressed with him. i thought he was very humble, and real, and caring. i loved that he's been married to his wife for 16 yrs and he's still so in love with her, and they have 4 children. i love what he and his football team did for those children, as well as getting ready to build 4 habitat homes. the million dollars from him and his band members was the icing on the cake.

Good night, Ladies,

Remarkable drama with the landing at LAX this afternoon. It literally happened outside our doors here in Manhattan Beach. We had only look up in the sky to watch the plane circling, burning off fuel. Can't imagine what went through the passengers' minds. "Coeur-age."

A few more surprises up our sleeves for you wonderful women that need a little more time to percolate- so sleep tight!

IT’s been an interesting few days for me. I am a teacher too, Leslie--high school sub for 15 years and now am certified by National Health Institute to teach various emergency medical and outdoor safety and survival classes. I am prepping for CPR/first aid teaching tomorrow. I have been helping my friend, who sold her salmon tender and bought a hotel, set it up and run it. --finally computerized. As hotel concierge the things I’ve run into have been too weird for words; everything from “There is a dead seagull on my window” to “Tell my dad not to send the fish because we are on hurricane alert and Houston airport is shut down.”

Coming through here are mostly wealthy hunters and fishermen looking for world class vacation, all kinds of physically beautiful men with Brillo pad souls who apparently think it’s okay to mentally abuse service workers. They get a big surprise when they step in front of me and do that. I go Starship Enterprise, Mayberry RFD and Steven Hawking on them all at once, scaring the tar out of them with my “Yes, I really am a crazy cannibal and you are stuck in my isolated town” look, and suddenly they are the best little boys on the block. Talk about people who need to be spanked! It takes a lot of energy to straighten these people out but I have no fear for job security and can be creative. I am actually very good at helping people feel at home and enjoy the wonders of my town. But Americans need better behavior in public. I’m shocked that women, minorities and people of low self esteem in service work are still going through this kind of treatment in this day and age.

That could possible explain why my attitude toward men today is not good. Help me change it up ladies? inspire me? Last night I had a funny dream that was actually a bit of nightmare. Benny Hinn was dressed in his wonderful ice cream suit and he had his arm out stiff against my head shouting god incantations and trying to bowl me over. I could feel the power and could only resist by shouting back “LET ME GO. RIGHT NOW!” over and over as loud as I could. This dream was about male power.
--->>Story continued in my blogger. Please be advised of adult language and situations. --serious Oprah level stuff. Opera Wench, If you have time, I would like you to read it as it is about “settling for whomever"

Dear Richard and Friends,

Revisiting Fun, Adventure and Romance as the base from which all THIS sb.com has bloomed:

It is very coincidential to peer at the images which rise from the smoke of the
SKELETON WOMAN story found on page 132 in Women Who Run With the Wolves.

1. Could you, Richard, be the Fisherman and any one of us the Skeleton Woman?

2. "To love, one must not only be strong, but wise. Strength comes from the spirit. Wisdom comes from Skeleton Woman."

3. "Death is always in the process of incubating new life, even when one's existence has been cut down to the bones."

It is fun thinking and sharing with you all. My thinking can not solve my thinking.

We have cracked open our souls hoping for the dream that has become a journey of our own and made big changes. I want to hang on to these changes in my life though the forces of my community do not support that. The concept of love is easy to carry on when you are surrounded by renaissance architecture and fire works but it needs to be indelible and cherished in our hearts where ever we go; Beverly Hills or Bosnia. It's a good time to think about protecting ourselves and defining our goals. For many of you women, experiencing the same awakening, the average extraordinary man will do just fine once you find him. I am seeing that A Great Extraordinary man is likely even too much for many. However we choose to court in the future, Richard has raised the bar for us. In order to have great men in our lives we have to be great women.

I’ve been kicking around this planet a long time now and the choices never end. I like the idea of setting the bar high and I haven’t felt like that for a very long time.

Richard made our searches much more difficult and easier at the same time. If we have been willing to look inside of our own hearts, what we want in a man AND WHAT WE WANT IN OURSELVES is just that much more clearly defined and yet that definition itself creates a ruthless elimination process of what we don’t want in our lives. Clarity is a gift. Thank you Richard and ladies.

Hellooooooo? Now just because I'm a blond

doesn't mean that I'm automatically stupid. So I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told me last year.....namely that in 1 year these windows would pay for themselves.....

WOW! I can't believe this! Things were going so nicely on the blog. No smart cracks, no snippyness, no ripping up our host. What happened? Well, I am happy that it is not directed at me! I just breezed through the blog to catch up on what's going on and there is another fight. For what it is worth, I said right from the beginning, this blog is being run by Richard. He and Joe are our hosts. If they think someone should stop appearing on the blog they will take control! We are guests! We are invited guests!! What is so difficult to understand about that? If the "HOSTS" want anonymous writers to identify themselves, they will say so. If they want certain things to stop, they will take care of it.

So many good things have come from this blog. I think this snottyness should stop. "Go placidly amid the noise and haste -- Without surrender be on good terms with all persons".

Bon Automne a Tous! The first day of Fall has begun with beautiful sunshine here. And it is going to be mid-20s by the weekend. The end of an exciting summer meeting and making so many new friends and the beginning of an exciting journey for some.

Connie aka best roomie - have a great trip to DC - think of me holding up a spiritual "Give Peace A Chance" sign, too. BTW, did my mail arrive yet?

Willy got your email and will attend to those things soon. Have a great day.

Richard Work hard, get it done, and get some rest this weekend. {{ }}

MERRYMARY! We've been up a looong time in the quiet wee hours on this beautiful new day (the MOON is STILL round & bright, but sadly, beginning to wane). The sun will be rising soon. I want to get OUT and watch it come UP, so “brevity” is my challenge right now, and not an easy one with so many women and so little time (anyone else here have that problem?). I'm still trying to catch up and make notes for the many women I’ve been wanting to address and who have stirred my thoughts, heart, & imagination (YOU are in that growing group)….

LADY BASE CAMP! Wow... from the beginning your incredible mind & life experience JUMPED out onto the page! I love your writing, and look forward to each of your "thought provoking" posts. I hope to meet you also, and have a feeling that it will happen for a lot of us...SOMEDAY. I have so many questions for you, but as you know (and probably don't really care, which is one thing I love about your unconventional, BOLD & free-spirited attitude), "brevity" scores "especially high points" with RR (is he really keeping score? He is a jock, you know!). Oh well, that's what scrolling is for & now perhaps the pharmaceutical industry can capitalize on THAT one, too (Scrollitis-inflamitis)! I'd like to hear more about your writing & will be happy to help you with first person info on the "Follie Dollies" for character reference in the play you are writing. I love writing, also, and WRITERS. You have a special gift and we're all fortunate that you are sharing it with us, albeit in bits & pieces...

MARY R! Hello! I have followed you from the beginning and love your depth, fun, open & adventurous spirit, goodwill, coeur-age, & ability to step "out of the box!" You are a character with character and maybe will be a character in one of Lady Base Camps plays someday! I laughed when you said you bought 12 copies of "Women Who Run With The Wolves" for your friends, many years ago.. I did the same thing! You, Honestgal, & Lady Base Camp have brought back memories of some fabulous stories for our wild, free spirits, & the feminine wisdom that grows with age after we've risen from the ashes (again & again)...

WILLEMINA! Your kind, bright spirit shines through on the blog and always has. You are another priceless "gift" to us all and I'd like to extend my thanks to you, NOW, for your kind comments about my "Grandma & Me" (hey, could this be a new title for the next documentary? Or how about, "MOM & Me" as a sequel?). Yes, yes, back to brevity... :)

ANONOMOUS LADY JAYNE! You made me smile when recalling your memories of "Walter Brennan". He was a classic, wasn't he? There is an article in TODAY'S HEALTH (March 1960) with a picture of my grandmother & he on the cover. The article’s title is "Grandmother With Grease Paint." Here are a couple of paragraphs which illustrate the close friendship my Grandma & Walter Brennan shared...
"One day when Madge reported back to work after being written out of the show (The Real McCoy's) for a couple of weeks, Brennan, the crusty old professional, embraced her & told her fondly she was "well padded, just the way I like girls." (Don't you just love that in a man? I don't think this is on RR's list of "F"s, however, so let's put the Hagan-Daz back in the freezer, girls. If we get the axe, THEN we can celebrate, OK?). The article went on to say that Brennan says he & Madge Blake agree on one important point about middle-age. "I have a special group of friends who are exceptions to the rule, 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks.' When I first met Madge and heard her story, I immediately welcomed her to membership in our group." (I have often wondered if he welcomed her into his membership 'outside' of the group, as well!). Oh my, now that’s a picture! Yikes..…

CLICKGIRL! What can I say? I LOVE YOU (I'm not gay, either! NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!!)… You are the consummate diplomat with a heart of gold. Objective and fair, you are a treasure and I think that we have all respected the compassion & integrity you've displayed here on the blog from the very beginning, to each & EVERY one. Thank you for being a model for our CLASS. I imagine that the challenges you’ve faced with your health have transformed you dramatically, increasing your sensitivity & ability to recognize THE IMPORTANT THINGS...

CHICKADEES! I’d like to address so many of you whom I have enjoyed so much from the beginning of this JOURNEY...Today, however, I'm practicing "brevity” & will try to give the "thought-provoking passages" a rest, as difficult as that will be. If I get carried away by the moment & feel the need to post a passage, please feel free to cyber-spank. I give my permission & will most likely thank you for it in the morning, when the initial sting is gone.

For 'DREAMWEAVER'... ”If in the twilight of memory we should meet once more, we shall speak again together & you shall sing to me a deeper song. And if our hands should meet in another dream we shall build another tower in the sky…”---Kahlil Gibran

TIME TO 'FLY'…..

If someone has the original version of the "Desertarata" (not sure of spelling after all these yrs, "you are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars you have a right to be here ....etc..go placidly amid the noise and haste,...etc" A song was made of it. I think it was found in a monastary tower, writter unknown. Beautiful words of wisdom. Thanks, play nice.

Hail Caesar, I warned you 2 weeks ago that you had a Brutus in your camp. A Janus. Beware of Greeks bearing gifts and all that. We have not seen new postings by "Janus." Perhaps she has been unmasked. We can only hope. A Friend
