Senior Bachelor on Chicago TV!- Thursday, Sept 29, 8:05 AM, Fox Channel 32
Gather your friends, Chicagoans (and early arrivals), and watch the Senior Bachelor interviewed LIVE on Fox Chicago, Channel 32 next Thursday morning right after 8:00AM!!!

Remember how you felt making your video?! Well, let's see how Richard does on the hot seat-- a LIVE television interview in front of thousands! Richard's going to tell them how fantastic you all are and all the fun things we are going to be doing in Chicago. We think they are going to have an opportunity for viewers to email questions for them to ask Richard on the air so we'll let you know about that. (Anybody local, could you please arrange to record it on VHS to bring to the Event for everyone to see. Click here for the TV station's link.)
Reservations GOING FAST
The reservations for the Palmer House Hilton Hotel and all the events are going extremely well. Heading for a sell-out for everything. Please, please make your reservations as soon as possible- we don't want you to miss out on all the FUN! There was a last minute rush for rooms at Manhattan Beach and some had to be put up at other hotels. While you still may get a room at the Palmer House, they would only set aside a certain number of rooms at the speical Senior Bachelor rate.
Here is a recap of all the reservation numbers:
Palmer House Hilton: 1-877-865-5321-- ask for the Senior Bachelor Rate.
"La Cantina" Restaurant, Thursday, Sept 29 Early Arrival Dinner: Please call 312-332-7005 and ask to talk to "Mina" or "Gina" (that's no joke!) They are the only ones with whom you can leave your RSVP request.
Odyssey Dinner Cruise, Friday, September 30: Call 312-396-2227 and ask for Rob. Have your credit card ready. Be sure to tell him you are calling for the Senior Bachelor Cruise to get the special $80 TOTAL rate.
Dinner for Saturday, October 1 is still being worked on but plan for a 7-ish start and the "Crazy Hat" Party and other fun activities back at the hotel starting around 9-ish.
FREE Drawings Compliments of our Senior Bachelor Supporters
We are also planning FREE drawings at most of our group social events. There are a lot of great supporters of the Senior Bachelor Search and Journey and they are providing fantastic gifts for the drawings worth hundreds of dollars each:
See's Candies
Eshe Day Spa (located steps from the Palmer House- special SB rates. Call 312-629-0376)

Odyssey Cruises
... and more we will list later.

this is for the MEANIES..those people who seem to enjoy injecting so much negativity into this great blog..."WE TEACH BEST WHAT WE MOST NEED TO LEARN" - J.L.S [I.E. john livingston seagull]
cheers,
pj
p.s. i love the blond jokes, but how about some "brunette" jokes, oh and some "silver foxey-lady" (i.e. gracefully greying) jokes would be appropriate, dontcha think?
pj
Here is something else i would like to share with the "Bodacious Babes of the Blog" as i like to think of my fellow-blogettes: When my daughter was about 13 she had an art assignment at school, the result has been hanging on my wall since; A group of olive green/brownish dragonflies (actually they are technically dameselflies, which are more slender and delicate; dragonflies have broad bodies and enormous eyes and will often eat while in flight, while damselflies will always land before eating.) Anyway, back to the painting,...admidst this brown/green group is one is a red/blue/yellow one, flying in a different direction sort of at an angle (i don't have a picture to send) Beneath this painting i have posted this caption from "Animal Speak": ..."Life is never quite the way it appears, but it is always filled with light and colour. Dragonfly can help you to see through your illusions and thus allow your own light to shine forth. Dragonfly brings the brightness and transformation and the wonder of colourful new vision."
So on that note Dear Ladies, i bid you a fond good day, have a fabulous friday, and a wonderful weekend (gee, how can you tell i am so into alliteration?)
cheers,
positively pj
p.s. keep up your stamina,RICHARD,
JOE, keep up the good work, and UMBERTO, try to keep up with Richard, (lol)
Morning All,
Great news Richard! Congrats. By then I will be back home in Cali. I don't mean to sound "not-smart" but with direct tv might I be able to view the interview? (Richard/Joe)?
Thnx
Deb
OW..........Have a wonderful time at your reunion, travel safe.
K, Here is another Deb/Gayle Hawaii travel story. We stayed over in SF because our flight was an early one out. But after dinner we got bored.
We went across the street to the Marriot's and the Class of '85 from somewhere in the bay area was having their reunion.
Well we went into a separate room (just the two of us) and we were looking at the old class pictures, and dancing. We always do things like that (dance, sing).
Anywho, a girl from the class invites us into the main ballroom to dance. Before you knew it we had a conga line going and hated to leave the party, so we didn't until the DJ stopped. A fun time can be had by all!!!!!!! You must remember this.
Waiting for the gym to open, then tennis, then not sure what the rest of the day will hold for my baby sister and I. By Sunday/Monday I will have photos to post but don't know how or where to post them............someone HHHHEEEELLLPPPP, please.
I have never heard a "silver foxy lady" joke. I have been blessed with blond hair which has turned a bit darker the older I get but NO GRAY - I know my friends hate me.
I must admit that I do "high light" and enjoy all of the blond jokes. Some directed at my "ditsy"
side.
ladybasecamp - perhaps we could promote a blogger kayaking "cruise" - where do you live? Alaska?

I think when this is all over, we-as a group should pick a Senior Bachelorette (sp). Now that RR and Joe have gotten through all the tuff stuff we could do it as a group.
What do you guys think about that?
Signing up to be a blogger. Esp. after reading some of the blog yesterday. Too many really neat ones to mention just one.
I think we could make something big with this. Maybe RR and Joe are on the right track. Now we just have to convince the men.
Marty
Good morning Richard, Joe, Ladies, & anyone who has decision making input,
Studies have shown that people remember best what they hear first and what they hear last.
Many of us sent in our videos and bios some time ago—right smack dab in the middle of those stacks and stacks of incoming mail.
Richard, you have given us a perfect forum—your blog—to reiterate to you the reasons each of us individually feels would make us the right candidate to join you on your road to adventure and romance. Ladies, why don’t we use this venue?
I have learned there is value in showing someone how a proposal will benefit him, or in this case, you Richard.
So, here goes.
1. I don’t expect a man to complete me or make me whole. Chemistry necessary for lasting attraction is either there or it isn’t and has nothing to do with how nice a person is. It would be wonderful to find a life companion, but if the sparks aren’t there, I would return home happily basking in the experience of the journey.
Even if you find your soul mate among the lucky six, there will be five women with whom you have traveled extensively who will not become an intimate part of your life. A woman who has realistic expectations is a MUST. Now would be a great time to remember an old adage that talks about a woman scorned……………
2. I am 63, probably look like I am 53, and think that I am 33. Being children of the same era, you and I definitely should be able to find something to talk about!
3. I’m a seasoned traveler who knows things don’t always go according to plan. My war stories will back me up when I say I stay calm and collected during a crisis
4. I take calculated risks. I went to Kenya one month after 9/11. I’d have to think about bungee jumping, but since you have already been there, done that, I’m betting the topic might not even come up!
5. I’m fun and cute, not beautiful. If you choose me, no one, media or otherwise, would accuse you of going after a TROPHY WIFE. Now, how’s that for a sense of humor??
About a week ago a friend of mine sent me the Senior Bachelor newsletter and said to check out the blogs. What a great support group for we "grownup" women.
I'd like to contribute and am wondering if someone can instruct me on how to use the HTML tags... I'm not a techie and would appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks so much...
Delma
Delma
Welcome!
Here is a a bit of help for HTML tags...*and Joe correct me if you need to* :-)
don't forget to eliminate spaces.
< b > bold < / b > = bold
< i > italic < / b >= italic
< a > anchor < / b >= anchor
You can always preview before you publish. i hope this helps and practice makes it purrrfect.
Delma
Don't forget to eliminate spaces between the < and the >. As you can see you have to close the tags with a /
NGEK!!!
Delma
Correction on the closing tags
< b > bold < / b > = bold
< i > italic < / i >= italic
< a > anchor < / a >= anchor
i don't think there ARE any "grey jokes", but being Canadian, you know, people think of us as kinda Grey"; sitting on the fence, neutral etc. but i digress as usual..i just think it is time to embrace our greyness..although i do dye my hair, as i am 1/4 grey and 3/4 burnette, so you know what that looks like, and being very vane, well, i'm not ready for white hair..although i would probably dye it blond if i could, (maybe-that could change too!!- life is so unpredictable, thank goodness)
MELANIE; and anyone else interested in Kayaking, check out www.pikakayak.com-Nnewsletters-Symposium it is a four day event on the longweek in May (QueenVictoria's Birthday);leaves from downdown Vancouver, britishcolumbia; you take a yaucht to Thetis Island with Kayaks and camping gear; gourmet catering and fun activities - check it out! this might be a possible future venue...
cheers,
pj
Yikes, hold on!!
"Safari Soul's" idea is a good one. That is one of the reasons Richard likes the blogs- to get good ideas from you Ladies. But, this blog needs to be kept clear for up to the minute news on current events- Chicago, apres-Chicago and beyond.
And chances are Richard would not have the time right now to read your other messages until after Chicago (that man is putting in 12-14 hour days!)
Let me see what I can do about setting up another blog for your messages.
-joe
(BTW- this reminds me of one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies: "You keep thinking, Butch, that's what you're good at." - Sundance Kid)
PS- "BDNC" rocks! I learned all the special blogging tricks from her so follow her lead. Thanks for helping out.
ANNOUNCEMENT: ok everyone, my new granddaughter is officially here today, weighing in at 3 lb, 8 oz with a headful of hair. she's in the incubator, of course, but everything is looking well. the doctors said even though it was 32 weeks, she had the development of a baby at 35 weeks. another of God's miracles. thanks for all of your prayers. we couldn't have made it thru sanely (is that a word?) without them.
sylvia
Sorry, Joe. Mea culpa. It seemed like a good idea, but I should have asked!
Safari Soul
You go girl.. good for you! I agree the blog is the place to advertise so to speak. So here goes...
Richard, I just want to say I would be happy if you chose me and I would be honored to be called your "trophy wife" - if I were madly in love with you and you were madly in love with me. Who cares what others think - right!
Although, at my age I doubt I would be considered a trophy. Perhaps a used, tarnished and perfectly imperfect one!
Not to worry I guess, I think that term is used for those much younger than any of us here on the SB blog anyway. Right?
sorry joe, just read your comments. i don't mean to take up space with my announcement, but so many ladies were praying for us, i just wanted to let them see the fruits of their labor.
sylvia
Sylvia Glad to hear the good news! :-) God bless you and your family.
Laughing @ Joe, you are too kind .. .thanks
Anytime is a good time Joe!
Paula
Is being a trophy wife not a good thing or is it a complement? it's the way you look at it, right? The way i see it, you are a trophy to be won. which is a complement by the way. :-) and i am too....
BDNC!
Thank you so much!
I appreciate your help...
Delma
Hello heiresschild
Congratulations! And glad to hear all are doing well. Great news!
Hi babette - I love your website. So filled with beautiful pictures. You are a beautiful trophy and yes it is absolutely a good thing! Especially the way you put it! We all are special trophies to be won!! Heck YES!
RR, you are a very lucky man to have so many beaautiful trophies to choose from.
I could say "me too" to most of what Safari Soul and Paula in Florida said - arn't we all bold and beautiful and free and fun and fit and relatively intellegent and willing to take a risk with our hearts and lives and I could go on but the question now has more to do with CHEMISTRY -
I would be honored - just as Paula said - to spend a month traveling through parts of the world I have not seen with a very handsome and avilable man - RR - but without the chemistry it would be a wonderful trip - what I would really like is a WONDERFUL TRIP!!
Sorry Joe - I color outside of the lines as well.
Melanie
PS - I tryed to bold and get WONDERFUL TRIP turn blue but it did not work - so just pretend.
dragonflyfilly - thanks - I made a copy of your suggestion - just the type of trip I would like.
Melanie
Aloha Richard, Joe and posse!
Will definitely be watching on Thursday September 29th;)
SKYWATCHER "ELLA" speaking of Butterflies, I had the priviledge
of a butterfly resting on my shoulder one sunny day. I was hesitant to take a breath in case she would flutter away! She was an irridescent blue and black, and stayed on my shoulder for a few minutes. She brought a message for sure!
Thank you for the reminder as the ellusive Butterfly is special considering her metamorphasis!
All our Sisters and Brothers in Houston, Galveston, New Orleans etc. prayers go out to you and yours during this trying time!
Love and Light
Senior Bachelorette:)
Vj
p.s Richard, as time draws near may you come to know the secrets of your heart, and once again be reunited with your Beloved
Dear Friends,
Yeah, Sylvia, for the little ones. They are our future. If you ck my sight, you will see my 20 week miracle. He started @1 1/2 lbs dropping to 13ozs and was riding my big white horse alone when he was 3. Prayers, angels and wonderful teams made that happen.
At this writing, About the only thing I can think of that is best done alone is my singing in the shower.
Richard has this wonderful Team and will be getting more help from the news Team. There was even a Team effort that went back to the farmers that produced the food I ate this AM.
And Lady B.C. bought a 2 person Sea Kayak to use when she wasn't helping others.
This maturing sb.com is a growing example of the collective talents and power of numbers.
also: Washington, Chicago, Oprah, etc. None of us really work alone.
Safari Soul, up to this Chicago flury, this blog has been a venue opportunity for beautiful sharing, some intimacy and many loving thoughts..
Richard's Dedication, Talents and Love of his Mission are evident. I believe the proper, like minded, understanding, caring Lady in his "Base Camp" (thanks LBC) will gift him with The hours when we LOVED
That's how life began.
Mary Rose
MARTY Are you from Awatukee? If yes, I have something for you.
I need your email address.
Joyce
Heirreschild You wrote to me and said 8lbs and I thought that was a pretty good size baby. Now I see that she is only 3lbs. Oh my goodness what a little bit. My prayers will be for her to grow up to be a precious child, just like my little niece Morgan.
Hugs Suzanne
Connie aka DancingGirl I have a great vegetarian recipe on my site. I meant to give it to you when we were in MB but forgot with all the excitement.
Hugs Suzanne
Aloha Ladies,
I can't wait to meet Richard and Joe...and all you beautiful ladies..in 'Chicago". I know that we will have a lasting relationship after this exciting event end's.
I will be in "Chicago" watching Richard's interview.
Richard just look and smile into the camera because you have made a pathway for all of us to feel proud of our age and be recognized.
Mahalo, Yvonne
Delma You are so welcome. I'm glad i can help.
Paula glad you like my site. You know...Dance like no one is watching...is my daughter's fav saying? makes me smile.. cause sometimes we just do that... dance like crrrrazzzzy!!!!
Desertflower Great to see you girl! Wassssup?
You all have a great weekend.... i'm off for now....
Joyce, Yes, I am from Awatukee-why.
So the idea of a senior bachelorette is not a good idea? No response from anyone.
OK, why am I having so much trouble signing up. I thought I had done it. Do you have to sign up for different blogs? I think I was on the girl's blog-heck I will try again.
Paula-blong joke-and I am so glad you have a great sense of humor.
What do you have if you line up three blonds in a row?
-A wind tunnel.heehee
Marty
Paula-oops Blond joke-not blong
oops again, Joyce
mgraham627@hotmail.com
OK, I get the stupid award. I am not going to set up a blog page. I think I have tried so many times I am getting dizzy-oh I already was.
So I will just have to do it the old fashion way.
Marty
Joe
Strange request i.e. leave the blog clear for updates, apres Chicago and beyond! Why not close it down and just hope that some people might then read Richard's and your comments only! That way you could kill two birds with one stone as in you wouldn't have to delete anyone whose opinion might differ from you guys.
Wow wow - the old ego stuff gets bigger and bigger and ..... surely will eventually burst!!!!!!
To the person who colors outside the lines: go girl, good for you. My understanding is that a blog is a place to comment but then again you may not yet understand that this blog is extremely controlled by very insecure people.
Wonder will anyone get to read this before its deleted!
Hi all Well, I don't want to claim to speak for the powers that be here....but I think Joe just meant that Richard wouldn't really have time to carefully read "mini-profiles" if they were posted here. Other than that...the rules have pretty much just been to be kind to each other.
No rules against flirting that I've heard about so I shall carry on!
Sylvia
Congratulations Grandma!!!
MARK 11.24
"Therefore I say to you, all things whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you shall receive and they shall come to you".
God does hear our prayers...AMEN

Richard,
#1: When exactly did you make the
9/29 TV show arrangements? To announce thus what you/we are going to be doing in Chicago is bound to result in so much publicity, that all may turn into a very public event.
#2: Are there going to be TV cameras to film some of this SHOW??? (=the sheduled events)
#3: Is this why the ladies are to sign a disclaimer Friday evening before being given the agenda??
which is most likely given only to the ladies that sent you videos.
#4: Is this TV commercial of your romance advocating trips one of the reasons it took you a while before setting an exact date for Chicago???
#5: Will there be any more surprises??
The flight tickets are non-refundable, and the Hotel can easily charge for a reserved night not used, by billing the credit card given for the reservation.
If I would have known ahead of time that the Chicago endeavor /venture was going to be so publicized, I would not have spent $$ for this trip. Now at least a "few" hundred $$$ are going to be wasted. Who can afford that?!!!
PLEASE, ANSWERS TO MY ABOVE QUESTIONS, inquiring minds are VERY eager to know.
Ellen

Well Linda, by all means speak for yourself but please don't speak for them then unless you've joined the staff!
I wasn't addressing you or commenting on anything about you.
If previous requests for information are anything to go by, then you will not get a satisfactory answer to your question Ellen. Since this blog began RR has only answered questions when 'he deems appropriate', even though he asked people specifically to ask questions via the blog!! I don't think he cares much about the fact that you spent money on travelling without knowing all the facts about publicity. His record shows he only reveals stuff like this at the last minute. He needs the crowds to show up to make the TV people interested.
I saw your recent question asking about that disclaimer and he told you, if my memory serves me correctly, that it was just that Umberto would be filming and photographing?? It will be interesting to see will he answer your questions fully now.
To anonymous who addressed his comment to Joe. No, why delete it? It speaks volumes about the writer and I want all to see it. Richard Roe
To "Ellen" and others who believe their questions are not being answered when they would like them answered. E-mail me at richard@seniorbachelor.com and I'll do my best to answer them. How's that???? A quick heads-up though, the Fox interview was arranged about 10 minutes before it was put on the blog and I had no idea it was coming up. If anybody doesn't realize that with past media exposure such as Oprah and People Magazine, that there wouldn't be more media interest surrounding this endeavor, you haven't been paying attention. I have said many times that I welcome appropriate media exposure to futher the mission that I have stated over and over, and that is to Promote Romance and Adventure for people of all ages, especially 40 and over, and extra especially for people 50 and over. RR
So glad you're not deleting anymore Richard. Makes a refreshing change. Nice to see different viewpoints on the blog.
Okay, Anon at 4:30PM, you want an unlimited blog, then get un-Anon and set one up and you and the three other people who you pretend you are can go blog to yourselves all you want. Don't like it here- go! That's why remote controls were invented. By staying here you are proving to everyone just how ridiculous you are. I forget, what is that neurotic disorder called when you just like causing yourself pain?? Blog away!
Now, "coerage". Have you looked at this website very carefully? Do you get the Newsletters? Did you follow the Manhattan Beach Event at all? There is mention of the media all over the place. Heck, we give you links to Senior Bachelor in the media on the "In the Media" page noted on the navigation bar on every webpage on the left hand side. The story of the Ladies and the Senior Bachelor is very, very interesting to people. Why do you think the media is so interested? They all have stereotypical ideas of what you Ladies and Richard should be doing-- and it is NOT looking for Romance and Adventure. So when they see so many of you doing what you are not supposed to be doing they are interested. So, yes, they are interested and, yes, they are going to cover it, and, yes, Richard is going to tell his story and he is going to tell your story as well.
The reasons for the release have also been explained many times before. I will go over it once again. We will be taking photos and, in some cases, video throughout the Chicago Event just like we did in the Manhattan Beach Event. We will use them to post on the blog, the Newsletter, the website and provide them to the media, if requested. The media may be at our events (did you read any of the newspaper articles we posted so prominently in the blog and on the website?) and they need to be assured they have a release as well.
You have the responsibility to do two things if you DO NOT want your image used: 1) You write DECLINE on the release and, 2) You make sure you are not in any of the photographs or video. Did you see the photo of all the Ladies with Richard on the staircase? They all wanted to be in the photo so they got on the staircase with Richard. So when I posted photos to the blog and the website and used them in the Newsletter, I knew we had the proper release. You may have seen a few photos originally posted and then taken down. A few of you were so quick to assume this was censorship. We actually received requests from women who, even though they signed releases, requested we not use their photos. We took them down immediately.
Everything here is done in the open. (By the way, how did you hear about the Senior Bachelor in the first place? That had to do with publicity.) Please don't come to Chicago if all of this is going to be upsetting to you. And as far as not being aware of this before you made your reservations, I have no response.
My earlier response about the messages to Richard has been misintepreted by some. It is only those kind of messages mentioned in "safari souls" comments I was referring to. We'll find a special way to do that because, well, they will be special messages! Everything else on the blog has been fine, so, please continue.
Sorry for the tone in my response but I just got back from coaching Taylor's AYSO soccer team and my endorphins are pumping! I did a lot of running.
Keep your eyes peeled for a new blog tomorrow. And a special greeting to the newest bloggers and warmest regards to the alumni!
-joe
You are cracking me up Joe!
I can feel your adrenaline pumping! Let's not forget to mention that one of those pretty pictures was taken off because my panties were showing thru my white skirt due to flash issues. I kinda liked it myself, ha ha.
Uh oh...I'm setting myself up for more bashing!
suzanne, aka desertflower... how is going? did you receive my picture???? if not my friend can take one and we can e-mail from here... let me know.... I want to be on the blog tooo...
Goodness me Joe - temper, temper. A bit of an over-reaction I think. Well, I suppose you would be feeling a bit stressed at this stage!
Coerage, consider yourself well and truly 'ticked off'. Now make sure you read and re-read everything in future - hell, even from the past.
Joe and Richard, You guys are great!! I really dislike having to be "anonymous" for the first time, but I was one of the "118" and hope I am still a viable candidate and do not want to appear to be playing myself up. The "alumni" on this blog are very aware that there is a nutty gal here who has been exposed-and while no one will ever prove it, the odds are this same person is using anonymous and various other names. We get it. Let her comment way. For Ellen (again odds are all one and the same disgruntled person), who bought her ticket (who believes this!!!)without realizing there would be media coverage, clearly this is a newcomer, who never sent any infomation in, could not have been reading the newsletters, was not at Manhattan Beach and is flat out just a loser. Joe, you're right. You guys put links up to the newspaper articles in MB. 99.99% of us know, expect, and hope there will be appropriate media coverage of the Chicago event. You have one nutty person here. I agree, let her blog away-it's funny!! Unfortunately I have to remain anonymous.
True story:
Supermodel Claudia Schiffer was holding a press conference. Very slowly she asks: "Why do blonds talk soo slowly?"...."So men can understand them"
Joe: platzen; verstehen Sie? You were going to "plotz" with the Italian ladies names. Or is plotz
Jiddish? That often sounds like Bavarian
willeminia: Great news, Oma Sylvia
RR: would you consider a 44y/o with 20 years younger than you,
a "trophy wife"?
My late husband was 11 years younger, and they told me I was a cradle robber!
:-) :-D
Hey all: Richard, Joe & Ladies
Thank you Joe for addressing the media/release issues. Makes sense. The SB quest has been very public from the start. It wouldn't work otherwise. I heard about it initially in a teaser ad for Oprah last Spring and visited the website then. Something reminded me of it (probably dating :) ) just recently, so I revisited the website, signed up for your newsletter and discovered your blog.
So now I'm hooked on following the story. I, along with lots of folks, I bet, are intrigued by RR's SB quest on several levels. And when you peel back our many layers we all need the same things: love, companionship, sex and romance. Adventure & variety for intellectual stimulation is good, too. None of these needs diminish as we get older but get more difficult to fulfill!
Richard, thanks for shining the spotlight on this by making your search public. I've met too many men that seem to think since they are over 40 the romance is supposed to be dead, and we know that's nonsense!
And to the other bloggers, thank you so much for sharing. I'm hooked and check in at least twice daily.

If you are watching any national news you will know that Houston and surrounding areas are getting ready for Hurricane Rita coming in, so we have also been getting things boarded up and hammered down today.
Mary Rose: My brother loves to fly kites also. We saw on the news that a surfer was arrested for trying to get out into Galveston Bay. My brother asked if he took a kite down to fly would they arrest him? :) So, you want to come fly with him!!!
Sunrise: you can reach me directly at "mod317@aol.com" and we can talk more about Texas, etc.
Talk to you all after Rita blows through.
Mary Olive in Houston
Atlantachick aka Ruthie welcome! and your words are worth repeating:
when you peel back our many layers we all need the same things: love, companionship, sex and romance. Adventure & variety for intellectual stimulation is good, too.
I am so jazzed after nearly 6 months I can hardly stand it!!
linda in tucson thank you for the kind welcome! I've enjoyed your moxie, as someone else here put it. Now settle down, though. You've got another month's anticipation! :)
Ruthie
To the last anonymous poster, I don't think there is just one person posting anonymously here. For instance, you just did, and I'm doing so now. So if you or I didn't post 'Ellen's questions, well its obvious a lot of people are posting anonymously which is kind of interesting as most people used to use some name or other.
To Richard Roe I recall an email to me when I had indicated to you that I had no interest in being on a TV show or publicized your comment was "It was never suppose to be that way" Of course, since you have been know to tell great big whoppers of un-truths or shall we say been extremely ellusive about the full truth I doubt that you will recall that email. Had I known this gig would of gone this way, I surely would have saved it.
YIKES The natives are getting restless! OK Ruthie I will try to settle down but my excitement is sincere.
Who cares what way "it was supposed to be?"
Yeah...I was supposed to be married now...I was supposed to be living on my cottage on the beach.
I thought I was supposed to be a whole bunch of things that I was wrong about.
R-E-L-A-X
The Universe has a fabulous way of taking care of things!!
P.S. To Mary Olive: I am sorry to hear you are in harms way. It was awesome to meet you and such a way cool thing that you brought those little peacocks for us chicadees.
Guess you had to have been there!
linda in tucson Your excitement is great. It's fun! And you're right: some of our expectations may not match our realities, but things tend to work out for the best. The Universe does take care of us one way or another.
Now, I need to learn how to use these HTML tag thingies...
Ruthie
Ruthie my excitement is real and sincere. Stick around though and you will hear other opinions about it...ha ha.
Scroll back aways and look for bdnc's instructions re: html tags
If you really want to get jiggy with it, my blog has instuctions on posting pictures (just click on my name here)
Anonymous, Try proofreading your ridiculous comments for your typos. Yet another reason I will leave them up-to show your ignorance. OK, I'll play your game. What are the "ellusive" (sic) truths???? P.S. I still am waitng for the e-mails to me, so the people can identify themselves, so I can respond to "all of the unanswered questions." Oh, and BTW, who says I have to answer any questions from unidentified people?? Especially from people who never sent in any materials. Again, e-mail me. Identify yourself by telling me you have sent in your tape, etc., and the odds are very high that all of your questions will be answered.
Joyce, did you get my e-mail. New laptop and it is faster than me.
Holly smokes, we are being surrounded by Indians. What the heck is going on.
WE ALL KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON-HELLO-he was on Oprah. Did you not figure out that the ending would problably end up there again?
As a retired teacher, I would say you didn't read the whole assignment.
Leave the anons on, they are fun to read LOL.
Marty
Hi Richard After a long and very busy week, I just got caught up on the posts. I must admit I had to laugh at your last post! You GO Roe! I'm chuckling away here at the cat fight there.
I hope you're able to take a break this weekend and just do things for yourself. Get a game going, go for a bike ride, have a great meal at the Rock'NFish and remember the classy ladies who joined you at that great place. I'm going to be able to take a bit of a break this weekend (except for evaluating my students' spelling in order to place them accordingly for the year) and enjoy our beautiful Indian summer - temps up to 25C over the weekend. See 'ya :D
Hello Everyone,
I have the need to TYPE!! <"words, and words are are all we have to take my love..."> on this cyberlink to bring us together. As a newBEE, or new chickaDEE, this event Richard and friends have opened the world to the human spirit...WOW.... fireworks, a dinner cruise, TV media, dancing, prizes, new friendships and the opportunity to enjoy yourself, exchange ideas,....thanks RR looking fwd to meeting you once again.

Hi Richard and ladies,
Today is my daughter Lisa's 35th birthday. I am going to have the family over for dinner tomorrow to celebrate. I love to cook for my family. Unfortunately my mother won't be here as she is going to a luau party! Wow, sometimes she has more fun than I do!
On Sunday I will be going to L.A. with my sister to the King Tut Exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History. I am really looking forward to it. My daughter Lisa went to the King Tut Exhibit 26 years ago in Bonn, Germany...her class travelled there by train. My children had some fascinating field trips in their younger days and I usually volunteered to go as a chaperone but for some reason I could not go on this trip. (We were living in Baumholder, Germany at the time). Lisa also went to the Christkindlesmarkt (Christmas Market) in Nurnberg. My daughter Andrea went on a field trip to Barcelona, Spain in junior high. We went on numerous trips to Holland which was a special treat since I am dutch. My husband was mexican so my children call themselves "dutchicans" cute huh?
Sometimes military life was hard on my children, especially as they grew older, the moves were hard...having to leave their friends behind. They always made friends quickly in our new location. Now they talk about all of the wonderful memories of their childhood and they have even been in touch with friends from their past. How did I get on this subject? I guess I just wanted to share a little bit of me with all of you wonderful human beings. I would like to invite any who are interested to have a look at the pictures on my blog...next week I will delete some and post some new ones. Have a great weekend...
Richard,
aside from watching the hurricane on the gulf coast..I have also been seeing one brewing here.
I do hope you will consider the source of the person who is desperately trying to steal your joy. We're going to have a blast in Chicago. Let them stay home and brood.
To the blog and bloggers - I go out for some pizza and look what happens - all h*## breaks loose.
Richard you must be done reading and viewing for the day - nice to hear from you.
Joe - you are so cute when your endorphins are flowing - I thought that endorphins made one mellow and adrenelin pumped one up -cannot wait to meet you. ( you too Richard)
To the anonymous who used my blog statements to make her or his point - please do not speak for me as I was just trying to tease Joe.
Linda in Tucson - you do have moxie and I share your excitement -a friend told me about this venture because she knew I would be interested - and yes, I am excited - bring on the media - my right side is the best.
Sylvia - you must be so relieved - before long your granddaughter will be home and you will never know that she was only 3 lbs. When I worked in a nursery many years ago I held a baby in the palm of my hand - the parents brought her back to visit and you would never know that she was so small when she first viewed the world.
To person in Houston - be safe - and hope that your family is all safe.
Sleep well everyone - get your crazy hats made - and get ready for those media folks -
Melanie
Erika;
Please give Richard a big hug for me...now Richard remember, when Eriks hugs you, it's from me... Okay?
Here is a really fun picture from MB (just click on it to enlarge)
Suzanne(desertflowers..I love you), Mary Olive giver of the peacocks, Moi, and Connie the classy dancingirl
Sylvia;
As Droma has pointed out, you are now Oma Sylvia!
Droma;
I read some of the blogs between you and Sylvia and I'm glad that the two of you came to an understanding. Sometimes words are taken the wrong way. I too realize that you were only trying to be helpful.
I also want you to know how much I admire you for what you have become. I never had a career, only some very good jobs (and some not so good) :)
Have a pleasant weekend...
Debbie Eddy;
Thanks for responding to my question re you and your sister.
My sister and I are also 3 years apart. She 52 and I'm the oldest.
It sounds like you've made some wonderful memories together.
Where in California is "home"?
Are you going to work on your blog and post some pictures? I would love to see them...
Have a wonderful weekend...
For the day folks,
unless you're a party animal,
I'm winding down and say "and to all a good night" and for the nocturnals, the night has just begun.....I can appreciate both wake-up 0330 (I should be able to post before Linda in Tucson)ha,ha.
The King Tut exhibit I saw 30 yrs ago in London...fantastic...time to refresh the memory & worth the effort.
Willamina - Thank you, it will be with great pleasure that I deliver YOUR HUG!! with Mucho Gusto.
thanks,E
Good evening Richard, Joe, Umberto and Ladies....
Only 6 more days, the count down is on!!I know we will have a blast. Richard, bring the media on, we are ready to help Promote Romance and Adventure. Afterall, this has been the theme from day one!! The first time I saw you Richard on the Oprah show made me realize you were right. Our age should not limit us, we still need to fulfill our desires for romance and adventure. The desires begin stirring inside making many of us feel like teenagers again!!! How exciting. Joe and Umberto, your work is really cut out for you!!
I am excited about meeting all of you.
Ladies, I am anxious to see faces to all those names and begin making lasting friendships.
Have a great evening.
Good night.
Linda P.
Is anyone from Indianapolis driving to Chicago for this event?
G'nite Richard
(and Joe)...and the nice girls
What a pleasure you have been in my silly life.
Can't wait for our 30 days together (OK...just cyber spank me now cause if you don't someone else will for sure!!)
Sweet dreams (and I won't mention my PJ's 'cause that bought me a bunch of hoo ha) Prrrrrr
to Junellenoble
Yes, I'm planning to drive from Indianapolis. When will you be ready to leave? Email me at con77nie@aol.com and hopefully we can work something out!
Connie
3 mature gentlemen walked into a mall, as the first man brushed back his hair, he commented... Ooh, it's windy. The second man said, no, it's Thursday. The third man said, yea, me too, let's get a beer.
Thank you and Good Night Ladies,
Thanks for all your support for Richard and me and for yourselves. Can you imagine what is and has been going on here? "i'm connie pick me" and "junellenoble" literally virtual strangers are going to share a ride of, what over two hours, to come to the Chicago Event. Now that's what it is all about. And I bet they will become fast friends (but don't speed on the interstate!) and have a ball with all of us.
On that note, I am going to shut down the blog for the night because, frankly, I don't want to play the silly "anon" game. I'm an early riser and will get things going then.
-joe
PS- We just took Umberto to his first American football game tonight- our local high school! We had a great time and he took some great shots-- not bad for not knowing the game. He loves the "Americana" iconic images of life in our big, loud, fantastic country.
