Chicago- Crazy Hat Party!- Photos V
Shhhhhh...sneaking in my office to post some more photos. Nancy thinks I'm pulling weeds. Here you go!!
PS- There was no vote on the winner. They all won!! We're going to post as many as we can for all to see and then share the ones from the online audience as well. Give me some time to catch up on things this week for all the posting. Please DO NOT send me the ones from home yet.
Earlier Saturday:
Some of the Ladies got caught by security trying to sneak into Richard's room. Rumor has it they all fought to be first to be handcuffed!! (To the "naughty mat!")

Breakfast on Saturday. Quite a bit more "buzz" in the room after the great Odyssey Cruise the night before.

Start of the Crazy Hat Party:
One last Lady who wanted to submit a video-- along with her "Posse" who seranaded RR

Richard said "No exceptions.... but keep trying to persuade me!!"

Singing "Travel is a girl's best friend."

The Three Monkeys await their surprise...

Michelle "Flying Mermaid..." presents custom Commando Briefs!

And something for the "Lady" (That's Michelle)

The start of the Crazy Hat Parade (to the tune "Celebrate!")

That's Geraldine (when I first saw her I thought she was a Diana Ross look a like similar to Sophia Loren in MB. Karen is in the orange hat- a great Karaoke Singer!

Will post more later! Who saw us waving to the web cam at Navy Pier on Friday?

I'm first! Rainy Sunday afternoon in my area of the world, so...the photos are great! I have to say, though, that I'd love a fashion show of the commando briefs! Hee, hee...blush.

Wow, just saw the new photos. Joe, you naughty boy, go back to your weed pulling!!!
Apparently, I am 7TH in line, but whose counting ;-)
The Chi Town ladies were essentially fun lovin gals out to set RR on his ears. Dynamite combination here. Joe, I missed out on the webcam view because of the time difference between here and there and miscalculation on my part. Sowee.
Well, I am cooking up something over here in the Tropics, some Chicken A la King for my own little chickadees, so will check back in a little while to view the other blog pics.
Mil gratzie to Joe, RR and Umberto for the memories being made here.
Hello again everyone,
My comments on the Chicago event were on the last disabled blog if anyone wants to scroll down to read them.
IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! We all are so tired and depleted of energy but that will come back with a little rest. I have plowed through all the great photos and comments from our event along with comments from the bloggers.
Wasn't the weather the best ever? Sometimes Chicago treats us well and this was one of those moments. We were so lucky with temps being in the high 70's -80's during the day.
Thanks to all for the coordination and efforts put on by the "most important people!" The MIP behind the scenes. Richard, Joe and Umberto.
Good golly my butt is sore from sitting here instead of unpacking.........
Hugs,
Chandra
Thanks for the additional photos Joe! Hope you got your chores done today. Some of the girls have sent me pics and I will put a new page on NNBB if not yet today, then in the morning. Anyone else who would like theirs included just mail them to me thru the NNBBSH website.
Richard are you going to let us know you are home safe and sound?
Dragonflylilly: Your site won't let me post...So, Are you the pj who wanted a copy of the NNBBSH list? I have been trying to get your E-mail address so that I can send it to you?? Did you already get it from someone else? I was just catching up on the Chicago event and happen to see a post signed 'pj'...If you are 'the' pj I am sorry to be so long finding you...Let me know k?

Wow, What a 4 days!! I had high expectations after the Manhattan Beach event for Chicago, and this also was a real winner. A FANTASTIC group of ladies-we had a BALL! I just walked in and it's 8 something and I have to get to work with e-mails and preparing the Newsletter. Lots more information to follow. To all of the wonderful women who came to Chicago-THANKS!!! Nitey nite. RR
Hello again to everyone,
"Hats off" to you, Lois, and I thank you for your kind vote for my wedding cake hat! It was such fun to do and was a stitch to wear. Those gals were so creative with all their original hats and it was such a great event. The skits were a riot and Richard, Joe and even Umberto were so great!
It will be very difficult to get back to reality after all that.
Hugs,
Chandra
Richard Glad to hear you are home safe and sound! G'nite and sweet dreams!
Hi Linda I'm looking forward to the new pics on the NNBB site....I hope you include the ones I sent you and many more....especially the new chicago gals....Thankyou again for all your help...I have learned so much..My girlfreind is sending me a book entitled "Computers for Dummies" So appropriate for me....LOIS
Chandra
I have to admit that I thought your hat was absolutely a kick! I know I said my choice was for the cute gal with the Richard dummy but you're right up there with her and you too Cathy with your GI Jane hat. Great hats from some very great ladies!
I'm glad to hear that at least some of you have made it home safely. I'll be looking forward to hearing from the other bloggers also.
Cathy and Brenda
Thank you both so much for your on the spot reporting from Chicago. You're both hired! You can be SB apprentices :)
Rachel AKA Flowergirl
Thank's so much for delivering my kiss to Richard! Now, you did tell Richard it was from me right???Sure you did :)
Ava
I hope you also had a great time in Chicago and a place to sleep???
Paula
You're a great Marilyn Mon-ROE. I'm sure Richard really enjoyed the entertainment provided by his very talented senior bachelorettes!
Although I not totally convinced that you're a senior at all!!! I have my doubts about a few of these women and wonder how they got in here??? But they're cute and I think we should keep them...
Richard
The Billy Bob teeth are a hoot! Reminds me when my very handsome son and his friend drove around town in a very classy car and wore those ugly teeth and when the girls gave them the eye, they just grinned back at them...somehow they didn't look that handsome anymore...
I'm glad to hear that you are safely back home in MB.
Now you can relax, play some beach volleyball and try to decide who will accompany you on your travels.
You have some tough decisions to make and I don't envy you at this point. If I were you, I would probably do a disappearing act for a while to put things into perspective but that may not go over too well with the ladies. In any case, you do what's best for YOU and don't worry about us because we'll be fine. I support you 100%...as long as I'm one of them...just kidding...not... :)
nitey nite handsome
Richard, Joe and Umberto - I really enjoyed meeting each of you and being part of the send-off for this endeavor. Thanks so much for all your hard work and planning. I can assure you that it all paid off because a good time was had by ALL. I am just now getting home. My plane sat on the runway for 3 hours this afternoon due to storms before we headed back to the terminal to get more fuel for the flight which took another hour. Soooo it took me from 2:50 when the plane was supposed to leave until 9:00 to get to Kansas City and then a 3 hour drive home. No problem, I just try to roll with the punches.
Paula - Thanks for taking me on as a roomy. I had a marvelous time. You are the greatest!
Ladies of the Blog - It was great to meet all of you in person so now it will be easier to visualize you when I see your name on the blog. I have a few pictures I took and I will try and send those to Linda in Tucson so that she can download them for all to see. However, I think I will try to do that tomorrow sometime. I am about to fall asleep in my chair. More tomorrow.
Always...
Pam in Missouri
cjinsocal: i don't recall asking for a list, i did however go to the NNBBSH site, i e-mailed and attached a photo, but i don't recall anything about a list....anyway try my site again if you like, and if anyone is having trouble accessing my site could you post a comment here and let me know and i will investigate.
thanks and cheers for now,
pj (you can call me "monkey lady" if there is another pj)
or maybe she/he can be upper case pj [PJ]
Well Gentlemen you did it again and ladies WOW!
Such fantastic pictures - thanks Umberto and Joe. All the dancing and HATS and such. What a long fantastic trip this has been huh Richard and it is not over yet...
Ladies, it appears that MB has nothing on Chicago at all. You all know how to party till the cows come home for sure. What fun and fabulous times. I am thankful for all the blogs, pictures, and ladies along with the three fab men that made it all possible for sharing.
Glad to hear almost everyone is home safe and sound. Rest some and then the hard decision making is upon you Richard. All the best and thanks for everything; I for one wouldn't have missed it for the world. What a treat! Many new friends and I will be thinking of this for years to come and thanking you for untold friendships and great times. Unless, I am lucky enough to be rising early and trippy the fantastic sights of some foreign destination with you. Now wouldn't that be exciting. Well anyway, welcome home. Take care All and now for the rest of the story....
Always HUGS,
Ann - aka Ladejag :)
Good morning everyone,
Whew! Now, what does one do to get back into the normal routine? That's not an easy task after an event like the Chicago weekend!
Thanks, Willy, for your vote on my wedding cake hat. It remains on top of my lava light to put the picture of "the gal" of Richard's choice in place of the question mark face of the bride.
Here's hoping that ALL of the MB and Chicago gals can meet up with each other for another event to combine us. Joe can work on that when he is done weeding his garden. And also to work on the list of names and emails for the Chicago event.
What a great memory for all!
Hugs,
Chandra
Good Morning! I'll bet it's difficult for everyone to come back to reality!
OK, I did my homework and there are new pics on
www.nannynannybooboosisterhood.com
PJ, I added your pic to the sisterhood, Lois you and Barb are on the MB page, and I created a new page for Paula's Chicago pics.
If anyone has pics they want to share, and don't want to fuss with posting them on your own blog....just send them to me thru the website and I'll set you up!
Good morning to my friends on the Blogg!!!!!
I hope that I can write without getting my keyboard wet from tears, I am still in Chicago!!!!!
I am sitting experiencing a Magical Sunrise over Lake Michigan and attempting to process an Awakening in my mind, my heart, my life, I would say my world, but now I realize this is just not happening in my world.
You guys I think we came here to Chicago, and maybe most of the people left, but we did something here.
We definitely left something here and I heard lots of ladies say yesterday, that they felt we would be back!!!
But you guys something happen here, yesterday for me, when Richard shared some of his real vision for our Age Group lets say.
I called it a News Conference to my friends, because to me it was.
It was very much News to Me!!!!
I felt that Ricard had a hidden agenda, and yesterday morning I began to hear with my heart what that was, (from lets say) my prospective, so that I will not pretend to speak for Richard!!!
What I heard Richard say, was something about who we are!!!!!
Thru this silly little thing that he started....... by desiring to "hook up with some female energy" (is the way I would say it at this moment).
And that He has done, I think we would all have to agree!!!!!
Female energy, the good, the bad, and I am sure we will see the Ugly as well!!!!
But yesterday and this morning I personally am so overwhelmed by the Incredible Female Energy that I was able to experience here at this Conference!!!!!
O M G I cannot even fathom what has been done here!!!
We have spoken of a Sisterhood, thru this thing and it has been so special to have been open to the Love that has been shared here, because we ( the Ladies ) could share with each other with no fear of anything!!!!!
Let me pretend to speak for the Female energy I felt and Say:
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!!!!!
But also:
I AM WOMAN LET ME LOVE!!!!!!
One thing for sure, someone said already this is certainly no end, this is just a beginning of some wonderful energy coming together.
Lord knows, I cannot pretend to understand how this is happening.
But somehow one Man's desire to have A Female be present in his life for special times like
traveling and taking in the wonders of our marvelous planet.
And being brave enough to come forward and say that this desire was "His Wildest Dream".
Somehow this Sillly thing, has become a Magical thing!!!!!
And I will try to close by saying that someone called while I was writing here, from back home, and said:
Oh, that sounds Marvelous!!!!
Did you win?????
Oh yes, YES!!!
Yeah!!!! I WON!!!!!!
I Realized Again, Who I really AM!!!
I was reminded yesterday, when a group the women hesitated in the Hotel to write in Richard's little book and somehow it ended up in a Circle of Women reaching out to one another with Love and Compassion for who we are, where we have come form and a hope for where we are going !!!!
I was reminded that:
WE ARE LOVE!!!!!!!!
Yes, and as Clickgirl came to Chicago to say:
"Let there be Peace"
and this morning I add:
"Let there be Love"
And Let it begin with me!!!!!
Thanks Richard for Speaking about you Dream!!!!!!!
And reminding us all that we still have them.
It's all about Love!!!
(Hey wasn't this the generation that believed in Love and Peace????)
Love and Peace to all!!!!!!
CathyinChicago

On October 3rd, as the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, we will all find ourselves captivated by 2005's second and final solar eclipse. While this alignment of heavenly bodies will be visible primarily in the eastern hemisphere, its potential for serious evaluation and the acquisition of new experience will affect all earthlings. In fact, the influence of this powerful lunation will be particularly strong in the days before and after the eclipse itself. Make the most of a rare opportunity to clarify your vision –

‘AFTER AWHILE’…
After awhile you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul…
And learn that love doesn’t mean leaning,& company doesn’t mean security…
And you begin to learn that
Kisses aren’t contracts &
Presents aren’t promises…
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open. With the grace of an adult not the grief of a child…
And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans…
After awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much…
So plant your own garden & decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers…
And you learn that you really can endure---
That you really are strong---
And you really do have worth…

Brenda Clickgirl -
These are great photos! I'm so glad that you and CathyinCarolina (with lots of help from Rachel, flowergirl, kept us all in the loop with photos and travelogue. It meant so much to us who "stayed behind" to be able to follow from a distance. I/we all know how much time you put into this, on a tight schedule of activities, as well as the expense in Internet connection. WOW!!
I'm looking forward to reading your observations. Cathy wrote such a beautiful piece this morning. All about LOVE, A DREAM, and FRIENDSHIP. I don't think any of us, even Richard could have put it better!
Thanks to all those who have shared and given the rest of us all a taste of the fun that everyone enjoyed in Chicago!!
Hugs!!
Suzan
There was an e-mail address list that was passed around in Chicago. I am trying to find out who has that list so I can cross-check it with my list. I want to send a special e-mail out to the Chicago group, so if anyone reading this has that list, please e-mail me at richard@seniorbachelor.com ASAP. Thanks a lot. RR
Hello Richard,glad you arrived home
safely..Chicago looks like it was truely a "BLAST"
My sister and I arrived at the Cape and the weather is FANTASTIC...got some sunburn, and we thought that if someone put rubber-bands around our hands we would be at home in the tank(with the Lobsters!!!
Listened to Santana,Rolling Stones in the car,and just to be in the moment feels sooo good.
I agree Richard,Dunkin'Donuts "is the coffee.
Sorry did not send a photo of the "Crazy Hat"...we did not pack the computer with us,we are in a "Internet Cafe",so I could check my e-mail.
I have just gotten Wonderful news,my daughter, who is pregnant ,just found out it's going to be a "GIRL"..just had a feeling..and being that our Mom who just passed,it is like it is her coming back...we are thrilled.
My daughter is going to meet us here in Yarmouth,Mass.in 2 days.to celebrate her Birthday and mine(hers is the 4th mine is the 9th)
So,Richard, wishing you peace of mind and the feeling that once you make your decisions,as to whom you'd like to spend time with,it will be a decision that will feel "right" within you.
Have finished reading a book that was on the "Oprah" show,"A MILLION LITTLE PIECES"Richard Frey-great book. And started another book, this afternoon,it is good to read other material other than for my work,Massage.
So,what is up-coming for us this week is a Whale Watch, walking on the beach..and more of the same...I am happy. My sister is happy..and we have had several laughing jags(the last was in the Library where we thought we use the computer except it was so...S...L..O..W....Tobi(my sister)got locked IN the bathroom...we were laughing so hard tears were streaming down....but guess you had to be there...

For Believing
In Richard's
Quest
Amen
Good morning Ladies,
First off, thanks for sharing such wonderful and heartfelt thoughts. I think there was definitely something fantastic in the air. I can't quite grasp how to describe it (and I'm probably not the one to try!!).
Let me try to describe what I saw and heard and then you can help put it into words. To me the best example of what happened was what I observed at breakfast time. On Friday morning, even though many had met at dinner at La Cantina the night before, the breakfast area was somewhat quiet and reserved. But then, after a day of meetings in both the large and small groups and the dinner cruise that night, breakfast on Saturday morning was absolutely "electric". Our corner of the restaurant was literally "buzzing" with excitement!
Now if you can explain what happened in those 24 hours we will capture the essence of the Senior Bachelor endeavor!!
Also, I want to talk about the event at Manhattan Beach and the one at Chicago. One was not better than the other-- they were just a little different. I think everyone was a little nervous and had trepidations about Manhattan Beach. Certainly we were! We had no idea how it was going to turn out- both from a logistical and an emotional viewpoint. And yet, it was very magical, energetic and fantastic beyond all of our expectations. So many women in Chicago said they never would have come to Chicago if they had not read the comments from the women who went to Manhattan Beach. The terrific experience in Manhattan Beach probably help set the stage for a more relaxed atmosphere in Chicago.
I know Richard was more relaxed going to Chicago and maybe that helped in coming up with the idea for the Crazy Hat Party, for example. By feeling more comfortable, he was able to let more of himself come out- heck, he even put on his buckteeth! (Brenda "Click Girl" said five women dropped out of the running because they thought they were real- LOL!)
So both Events were different and yet very similar. There was a transformation that took place for many women that, on the whole, was very good and positive. We owe a debt of thanks to the women of Manhattan Beach for being the pioneers in this endeavor and helping pave the way for others to follow just as each subsequent group will make it easier and more fun for future groups. And then you are all connected.
-joe
