OK, OK, A New Blog

The blog sure can be fun when it's done this way. I congratulate everyone for being "appropriate." An update....I've have been reviewing videos and biographies, and biting my nails all week! I'm telling you, I feel I could go on a one month trip with hundreds of the terrific ladies who have sent in their materials, and I would have a good time and so would she.

Please understand that I have no real interest in setting up a dating service. Thus far, I have been pleased with results from PerfectMatch, and if they stay good, I might become more involved with them. But for now, we are still in the discovery stage. The Men's page was put up strictly for the ladies. Quite frankly, a lot of work goes into building these pages. Generally, I will write the text, and then Joe does all of the hard work. We have three new pages, and this is a solid 40-50 hours worth of work. Nice going, Joe. Umberto has been at my side helping me with administrative work while I do my work. Thanks, my friend of 20 years.

Some ladies have e-mailed me with concerns that their picture and/or bios would be on the Men's Page if we chose to do so. No, we would never do that. We will only do this with your express permission. Again, this is a free service we would like to make available for your benefit.

I plan on sending out the "agonizing" letter Saturday, October 15. I plan on announcing the ladies who will be going forward in the Search in next week's Newsletter. And, guess what???? There will be a surprise. Surprise! Surprise!! He he. Stay tuned. RR

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! Are you planning on taking us all with you! LOL I feel for you Richard. You are definitely in the hot seat right now! :~) I think we all have been on edge a bit this week. It's very exciting yet agonizing to all of us! Heck lets all just go to the islands and drink Pina Colada's, Margarita's, Bahama Mama's and frolick in the sun! I am about ready for a mini vacation, how about you! :~))

Many thanks for spending so much time on your other web pages. I have a few fella's lined up already. Looking forward to the Mystery news letter! Need to go repair my nails as well! :~)

Have a fabulous week! We have only just begun!

Bejaflur: You hit a homer with 'the invitation' lines:

"It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love for your DREAM for the ADVENTURE of being alive."

Bravo for forgetting the AGE status! Who wants to be a numerical age? NOT ME! I just want to enjoy life!

As far as the beard or no beard: I think what lies under the beard is more important.

RR: You always keep us guessing and I can just see the twinkle in your eye! Maybe you are a twin and all 12 will get to go....Everyone is hanging with excitement. I read my reg emails and when there is no Senior Bachelor mail, I read the blogs, get enriched, play golf, blog, have a meeting, blog, work out, blog....Just 3 more days, it seems like a lifetime ago I rushed to a Best Buy and begged a salesman to tape me! I was traveling and it was the only way to make the May 3rd deadline. Right in the middle, a loud voice came over the speaker "Would a saleman please go to aisle 4 to help a customer!" People were walking by and I just kept on speaking. I have no idea what I said. I ran back to Kinkos, printed a bio and mailed it overnight! What a hoot and it has been a blast ever since. Thank you for making this venture so fun and exciting. Karen PS. Could someone give me an email address and help me post a picture? There are lot's of Karen's.....

Hmmmmmm.....

I love surprises!...gulp!!

There is one way you can please each and every one of us Richard.

But first here is a little joke

**************

A powerful Japanese Emperor needed a new Chief Samurai. So he sent out a declaration throughout the entire known world of that time that he was searching for a CHIEF Samurai. A year passed, but only 3 people applied for the very demanding position;

A Japanese Samurai, a Chinese Samurai and a Jewish Samurai

The emperor asked the Japanese Samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be the chief Samurai. The Japanese Samurai opened a match box, and out popped a bumblebee.

Whoosh! went his sword, and the bumblebee dropped dead on the ground.

The emperor exclaimed "That is very impressive!"

The emperor then issued the same challenge to the Chinese Samurai, to come in and demonstrate why he should be chosen. The Chinese samurai also opened a match box and out buzzed a fly.

Whoosh! Whoosh! and the fly dropped dead on the ground in four small pieces.

The emperor exclaimed: "That is VERY impressive!"

Now the emperor turned to the Jewish Samurai, and asked him to demonstrate why he should be the Chief Samurai. The Jewish Samurai also opened a match box, and out flew a gnat. His flashing sword went Whoosh!

But the gnat was still alive and flying around.

The emperor, obviously disappointed, said: "Very ambitious!, but why is that gnat not dead?"

The Jewish Samurai just smiled and said: "Circumcision is not meant to kill."

Richard You are such a little devil - just planting those tricky little surprises and then making us wait. It's just like the ole "Strawberry Man" who used to pull his wooden cart full of strawberries with a donkey. The only way he could get the donkey to move is by holding a big juicey carrot on a string on a pole in front of his face. I lived in Kentucky as a young girl and remember quite well his strawberry song.

Click Girl - Nice to 'see' you, too! It's been fun turning up in several of your photos! I wish I could return the favor, but my digital camera 'died' a few months ago, and they say it's cheaper to buy a new one than to get one repaired. And my all-in-one printer died, also, so I can't even scan 'regular' photos.

Lynn in Sacramento - Good to see you arrived home safely. Thanks for sharing a cab with me to O'Hare. When the cab driver dropped me off, I momentarily panicked, because it didn't say 'Continental', but he assured me that it was the correct door anyway, so what could I do but take his word for it, and it turned out to be OK.....

Two more days until decision time.......

They all think it's a hoot. ( I'll give you a plug.) Richard, Nancy from Ohio is a pretty and sweet and charming girl. I know there are soooo many. You probably won't have any nails left. If he picks one his age who doesn't know much I'm a shooo in. Man, how hard this must be. Soft Rain I loved your knat joke...Funnt ,funny. Hope you chickadees and Mr. Roe oster and Joe and Umbreto have an incrdible day. I've got a birthday luncheon at The Olive Garden with a bunch I used to work with.....so many have died and are in nursing homes our big group just grows smaller every year. Morning all..Willemina, would love the Blue Angel pictures. The air show I went to Sunday had the Canadian Snowbirds, like the Blue Angels. They also had reinactment of Pearl Harbor and other war planes. It was great!Mary r liked the Mandela quote and being new on blog, have you all read "The Four Agreements?" Live impecibly by your word..Don't make assumpions, Don't take things personally, and always do your best. That and the Golden Rule are what I try to live by...Mandela's is right up there....Loved the fly joke - I heard the end differently, but yours was funny also...

I'm always getting blonde jokes: A Redhead, Brunette and Blonde worked together. Their boss always left early. They decided to leave early one day. The brunette got a pedicure, the redhead went shopping and the blonde went home. Tiptoeing upstairs to surprise her husband, she heard noises and when quietly opening the door, her husband and boss were in bed. The next day the brunette and red head said "Let's leave early today" The blonde said "absolutely, not, I almost got caught yesterday.....Cheers, Karen

Hello,Richard,
(hello,Women of the Blog)-
We(my sister &I)got home on my B.D.(Oct.9th-Sun.)we had a fantastic time at the Cape of Cod-the weather was SUPER!-we even have tans on our arms & faces-we laughed, cried(remembering Mom)&went forward-that's the key- can't ever go back--my daughter came out &we 3 did a Whale watch-and we saw many-(the day before she arrived we did a Seal watch, they are so damn cute-very shy)
From Sun.on the weather has been very rainy, and the leaves are changing fast.I love Fall;it looks like a Rembrandt palate outside.
Richard, when you start to feel anxious(when the nail biting kicks in)walk away-go for a MASSAGE{had to say that:))},-if you were closer,I would put you on my table)Trust in your inner-self-you have already done some soul seaching(when you mentioned that you only had dated woman much younger than you)-a paradigm shift IS a big event in one's life...Trust that when looking at the video's or reading the bio's (or however you are going through this process)that you will FEEL inside you something that resonates within you..perhaps like coming "home"..or knowing that you can trust this person.
I LOVE that you also wish to give Surprises, that is very endearing(& appreciated)
Take Care&Enjoy,Sybil

Do not worry about those who will be angry if they are not chosen. They are the ones who are angry at the world ANYWAY (and looking for their next knight in shining armour to prey upon)! There are WAY more positive women in this adventure than there are BITCHERS!

I hold to the belief that most of those who are not chosen are STILL on a road to romance and FUN. You have lighted new lights, paved new pathways to.... adventure! I myself have sent the newsletter to 10 guys! Once some interaction starts, this is going to go WILD!

Do NOT doubt yourself, RR!

Hello Ladies,

We just sent out a correction newsletter to clarify the issue about posting photos and biographies when we get that new feature up and running. We also changed the wording on the website on the Men's Page. Whew!!

We probably were too aggressive trying to get all the new features out (Men's Page, Photo Page, Men's Blog, Polling) and getting the newsletter out that we missed that potential misconception. I know we talked at length about this in Chicago and I remember saying so many times "with your permission" that I assumed everyone knew. Thanks for pointing it out.

Great to see the new bloggers here!

"Simple abundance"
"houstonkaren" (relatively new?)
"coach" is back!
"sybil" are you new?
"clmpeace" are you the Lady who helped us out at one of the Events?
"lynnincalif" hello again

Welcome all!

Debby, it sounds like a juicy story behind your broken toe-- by a cleat on a YACHT?! Details must be provided.

Cathy in Carolina and Wanda get the award for bringing the first living, breathing man to the Men's Blog-- that's the spirit! I think it is going to take some time and a lot of pushing and prodding but there will be a lot more going there to check it out. Thanks for forwarding the newsletter.

I'm excited as well about all of this. Now everyone, deep breath in, breath out, deep breath in, breath out.

-joe

Good Morning Everyone,

Yes, two more days and counting down.....

I like the new pages and have told male friends about the newsletter and invited them to join us all on the cruise next year. A question for everyone- Do they have Internet access on cruises or wireless hookup for passengers. I am off to Mexico on the 15th, Saturday till the 21st. Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas; will be soooo much FUN and I am ready for warmth what with the change of seasons. Anyway, I do want to be able to know all before I get back the 22nd and online again.

Leslie so glad you were first-WAY TO GO LADY! And so nice to see you hear CarolLee. I sure hope our little get-together comes together for us all as it would be sooo grand to catch up and see each other once again.

I enjoy seeing the new ladies or relatively new ladies to the blog also Joe....Wanda you are close to me. My boys graduated from Hemet High School. I have friends in Anza, Sage, and Aquanga areas 'tis a small world after all.

Richard, hang in there time is almost up. YOU were called as we all were as CarolLee said. This is and will remain a fantastic adventure for us all on into next year and beyond I am sure. I am so delighted to be a part of it all with everyone and thank you Richard, Joe, and Umberto too for getting and keeping it all rollin.

All the best, have a great rest of the week and weekend. Surprises-WOW I love surprises and can't wait either.

Are these Genius, Masters of Romance and Travel creating the suspense to keep us hanging on. There is still only one nice guy on the "Boy's Blog", and we can't all have him. I know what I'll do!! I am going to try and find my old friend from Toronto and see if he's still available. He used to play and instrument in Xavier Cugat's band many, many years ago when he was a boy. He is 12 years older than me. Well, if I can find him, I'll try and get him on the "Men's Blog". He used to be lots of fun, very interesting and he drank too much. He also inherited a lot of money since his Dad was the most successful, accomplished building contractors of his day
in Atlantic Canada. If I remember him correctly, he has probably spent all his money. I knew him in the Tampa Bay area but he's gone. Maybe he went back to Canada. Don, call me, we want you on the blog, the new "Men's Blog". Do you know what a blog is? "Just having fun". "Oh
Sweet Mysteries of Life, I Have Not Found You" from Mario Lanza. Just having fun!!

Well, I had a great lunch at Olive Garden with 10 friends. I showed them Richard's picture as we got on the Odessy. They all thought he was quite good looking, but we know that. I got my Bond perfume I ordered from Sherry a couple of days after I returned. I've really enjoyed. I gave my sis some of the samples. Sherry was so nice and I do hope she's feeling better. She was not too good the night of the cruise. Hope everyone's having a great Thur. I gotta go watch Operah. Her boss is supposed to talk to her about something.....maybe our S.B. ????? Tootles

Haven't posted here since I said I wouldn't but thought I should clear that up.

*LOL* @ Suzanne

Legal blogger indeed ... don't worry, it won't last ... deletion is probably just around the corner. I felt I had to clear up Dreamweaver's thought that I was blogging under a different name. Not so.

We do like flowers.

As I'm here, I might as well get deleted for something so here goes:

If RR knows already (and I think realistically he probably does) the people he wants to travel with, why string them out until the l5th. How agonising can it be for heaven's sake? On the other hand, maybe he has already informed the people involved and they are sworn to secrecy. As for surprises ........ *yawn*.....

This movie is getting longer than ... hmmmmm .... 'Gone with the Wind' or Dr. Zhivago or Lord of the Rings!!!!!!!!!! but like the movies, only the writer/producer and director know how its going to pan out. Oh I think usually the actors know too but not in this case.

Night everyone and good luck to all contestants.

You need to get realistic. I have not blogged on this site since I said I wouldn't. I do read it ... most people know that so its no big deal.

I blogged tonight to let Dreamweaver know that I am not the person blogging in as 'sweetpme'.
I have never posted under 'Anonymous' and would never see any reason to do so.

Your paranoia has gone mad. However, it's very much your problem and once again, I don't appreciate my integrity being called into question by you or RR.

I still don't understand you directing a message to me on Geezer's blog and once again you haven't explained.

It's Moonflower6 actually. I am a person of integrity and my posting to Joe is none of your business. I was blogging here from the beginning. You don't know me and I don't know you so please refrain from commenting on something you know nothing about.

I have, however, enjoyed your posts pre Chicago which is when I think you started to blog. You do appear to be a nice person. I haven't blogged on this site for a long long time and merely came to it tonight to clear up a misunderstanding for Dreamweaver.

Hi Brenda

Just read your post. Point taken and very understandable. I personally have posted a couple of anon posts on SB site, nothing about anyone except his way of handling stuff so I know there are more than one anon poster. I think it just suits SB people to put that in people's minds i.e. that its just one disgruntled person.

I do not agree with people being nasty to other people either. As I said my few anon postings were about policy. As you, and others, would know, I always used my name when responding to some anon postings and other's views when mine differed :).

Lady Base Camp, During the Rita Huricane, I had to go to my son's house. I couldn't get home - the freeway was clogged, and I could only get south! We tried to go north for 12 hours and came back home. We cleaned out the master closet, put the 2 grandchildren, one bird and 2 dogs in the closet. I climbed in bed with my daughter-in-law and son and at 2Am I decided, I would rather die than listen to my son snoring....I went in the living room, put pillows around me, ear plugs for the wind and slept the rest of the night....You can turn them on their stomachs, put breathing devices on them for sleep apathea, but Dear Abby reader said it best...If after 40 years, your husband dies and he snored the entire time, you cannot sleep without it.....

Joe, so glad you told it like it is. Way too much time spent for someone that unhappy....Karen

Your diplomatic, peace keeping talents were needed. Where were you? "W" get that pink slip ready. I am on my way to Washington or Crawford for intructions re: The dismissal of Click Girl for utter neglect of duties. Now I am really blogging off. Jayne

Suzanne, Ms. Foxy Lady. What are you doing putting up that beautiful girls picture. She is much to young for this blog! She is much to beautiful! She looks like a beauty queen from my years books. Suzanne, you must not defect! Get "Sharing the Night" off the blog or I will report you to "W" while I am in Crawford and D.C. and you will also receive a pink slip.

OK Ladies I have a very funny Blonde Joke but now listen up, the blonde finally wins in this one! LOL
New blonde waitress

A trucker came into a truck stop cafe and placed his order. He said, "I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards."

The brand new blonde waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, "This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards. What does he think this place is an auto parts store?"

"No," the cook said. "Three flat tires mean three pancakes, a pair of headlights is two eggs sunny side up, and running boards are 2 slices of crisp bacon."

"Oh, OK!" said the blonde. She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer.

The trucker asked, "What are the beans for Blondie?"

She replied, "I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires, headlights and running boards, you might as well gas up!"

FOR ONCE THE BLONDE GETS EVEN!

Gotta love it, Charmaine

Dear RICHARD, STAFF and FRIENDS,

Or should I just say "EXPLORERS?"

For the last 6 months we have been on a journey.
I have seen:

*Talents recycled

*Avocations almost seem to become Vocations

*Acknowlegment of things missing with possible solutions

*Thoughts of Who to work with as important as brainstorming about What to do

*Wonderful stories

*Wild ideas (Grabed by WHY NOT'ers)

*How we think

Gosh! I have even seen characters change when a "Wild Card" turned up.

Oh what a beautiful morning.
Oh what a beautiful day.
I've got this wonderful feeling.
We all have got a NEW DAY.

I think Success as getting up one more time then we fall

Besides all the computer skills I have learned, this journey, (Chapter) has been a great opportunity to improve my Social Intelegence skills by trying to:
1. Be more sensitive to others.
2. Be a little leaniant as I judge the sub-text of what is written.
3. Handle criticisms.
4. Be emotionally steady.
5. Build team support.
6. Properly handle the 'Hand' I am dealt.

I have noticed a lot of "Blooming" going on.

Guess I am just trying to say
THANK YOU ALL
for the almost guilty pleasure I am enjoying because of this brief respite, kind of like a Chocolate Sunday during. Lent.

Hope some of this makes sense. A simple Thank you was not enough.

XOXO
Mary Rose
