Hello from Manhattan Beach

It was with more than a little sadness saying goodbye to the terrific ten ladies from the first meeting of the Fabulous Finalists. We had a great time and I would like to thank each and every one for their marvelous deportment. The second group of thirteen women arrived Wednesday afternoon, and after meeting at the Hotel Ayres, we went to the beach and walked for 30 minutes to my friend's beach house and had a fun barbecue and get-together.

An updated version of the Newsletter that was sent out Tuesday, will go out shortly, and will talk about the soiree at Harry Winston's and some interesting photos. Best wishes for now, Richard Roe

Thanks for the updated words & pictures from CA! Keep the information coming. It's *fun* living vicariously.

AND, I've learned a new vocabulary word. :)

de-port-ment n :
1. (behavioral attributes) the way a person behaves toward other people [syn: demeanor, behavior, conduct]
2. the way that you stand, sit, or move, especially whether you have a straight back, move smoothly, and carry yourself well

Travel Log - Day 2
Mexico Cruise

As I open my eyes this morning the first thing I am aware of is the gentle rocking of the ship. The sun is peeking thru some clouds and I can't wait to get out on the balcony to see the sea.

Wow, we are on the starboard side of the ship and all I can see is the Pacific Ocean, it looks like it goes to forever and back. We are traveling south at 22knots and the swell is very gentle. The morning air is crisp and the sea smells wonderful. There are some flying fish skimming across the water, their transparent wings glisten against the water until they dive back into the water.

We are meeting our next door neighbors Joan and Susan on the fan-tail for coffee. We each have a plan for our day. Susan is off to the art auction, Joan is going to check out the jewelry at the gift shop. Laura is headed for the casino and I want to get my book and find a lounge chair with my name on it and plant myself for the day. I left my multi-tasker at home so it is just me, a book, the sun and the deep blue sea............

I'm reading 'Far From Home' edited by Wendy Knight, it's about father-daughter travel adventures and it reminds me of some adventures I shared with my father. Dad passed away eariler this year and I'm now inspired to write about my experiences with him. I'll start it tomorrow, as we have another full day at sea before we arrive at Acapulco.

There are three fresh water hot spas and two salt water pools to relax in, great music, and service by smiling people. From the fan-tail I can see the Baja Coastline, we will be passing Cabo in a few hours. Maybe I'll go check out the gym, or maybe I'll just lay here in the sun and enjoy.........I'll check out the gym later..............

Hi Ladies,

I moved the photo files around on the SB Photo Page so now they should all appear in chronological order with the most recent photos first. Sent out an updated Newsletter as well just now. The links to the photos on the previous newsletters will not work since I changed the filenames so forward this latest one on to your friends. Plus it has photos of the "bling!"

"Callmelin" Terrific travelog from the "road" so to speak. Looking forward to updates. How well is the internet working from the ship for you?

Hey, Umberto is being flooded with offers of the daughters of many of the Ladies here. He doesn't need all that going to his head- he has work to do!!

Dear Joe In Manhattan Beach I am truly sorry that you thought my previous post was negative. There are so many women out there that are so much stronger than I and they will be able to go and have fun with Richard knowing that they may not be chosen and still come away saying they enjoyed the experience.

I am (was) a lonely woman looking for a one on one relationship and from the very beginning had told Richard I wasn’t interested in the TV production or filming part and he had said it wasn’t suppose to be like that.

Because it was not good for me and many women that I personally have met through the blogs, DOESN’T mean it’s not equally good for 100’s of others.

I am a rather sensitive woman, who doesn’t like sharing the man she falls in love with. I love love, romance, and fun. But I love intimacy as well. Please don’t think that I am negative.

What Richard has done shows a man of extremely high character motivation and with a strong will to succeed in all that he does. What woman wouldn’t want a man like that?

Janiegirl I was having fun talking back and forth with the women. And you are correct, I should have made better choices for myself. I do not blame Richard or anyone for my choices. Janiegirl if you reread my post you will note that there was no blame put on anyone except myself. So why you would make a statement like you did, I don’t know. It’s really sad that you think I was playing a game and trying to obtain a feeling of oneness for only myself.

There are hundreds of women that write to me everyday, Janie and you are one of them. You have a very harsh way about you and yet I tolerate your comments and have befriended you. Please reread what was wrote – I did not condemn Richard for his decisions. I merely stated that I and I alone made a poor choice. It was solely my decision to make the trip knowing I didn’t have the funds to do so.

Janie as I mentioned above there are hundreds of women that are writing to me and quite a few that are indicating their own feelings of rejection. Most of them wonder why in the world I would make contact with you – but I see a lonely lady here that likes to think of herself as my friend. You do not know what is being said to me in personal emails – nor will anyone else, because women like to confide in me and the reason is, is because I am nice, and I am thoughtful to others.

MerryMary Thank you for your response. I agree that Richard may not find his soul mate in this group of women. No one really knows what he or she wants until they take the time to get to know the individual. I personally would have liked to of gotten to know him on a more personal level. Some people feel that I feel a strong rejection and truly that was not so. I felt insecure with so many absolutely beautiful and talented women around me. I did take the time to talk to as many as I could. Richard is a special man looking for a special woman and quite frankly I think I’m special and beautiful in my own way and pretty darn witty and damn smart.

I do not believe that a relationship can be built on chemistry as a first impression. I feel that a healthy relationship should be built on friendship, a casual relationship, commitment and then passion and these things take time. They just don’t happen over night. Starting a relationship with mere passion grows old and then you may learn that your chosen partner really isn't what you wanted in the first place.

Oh and by the way, I’m quite a happy person and do not regret so much that I spent the money – it was a great learning experience as to how strong of a constitution I have. (Which wasn't very strong LOL) I learned not to be exposed like that again, merely because it was not within my comfort level.

Coach I had a blast meeting you and wished I had of taken the time to learn more about you. You have a wonderful out going personality and you are a strong woman.

Forgive me ladies if you feel I have put a damper on your fun thoughts.

I think the choices that Richard has made are very versatile and who knows who he will end up. I've enjoyed following along and am looking forward to who his 6 finalist will be. Because I'm a woman, I'm nosey. GRIN

Hugs to all Suzanne

Dear Suzanne, I am happy to hear that you are now feeling better. I can assure you Suzanne, that I was not leading a lonely life before you contacted me through my blog email, and I think that all these friends of yours who email you daily that don't approve of me----Well, some things are better left unsaid!!! I couldn't care less what these muckrakers think of me. I know who I am and I don't need approval from totally misguided women, never have and never will. SUZANNE, you know that I know what fuels your thinking and the thinking of your friends. Whether you agree or not, does not concern me. I did not contact you, you contacted me. I am not the least bit upset about anything. I TRULY WISH YOU WELL, SUZANNE, I SINCERELY MEAN THAT, but if my email upset you, then what can I say. If you do not understand the true expression of my email, perhaps some day you will.

I have such a bad track record with being married 4 times I certainly can not give advice but I think Suzanne has some good thoughts... I let passion get in the way of friendship. When I should have been learning about being a true friend and soulmate I was busy with trying to be appealing and sexsy. This is why if there is another it will be based on love and respect and true friendship and God first. I was young and foolish and fickel. As for richard...Goodness yes,all of us would have like to have been chosen or we wouldn't be here. It would have taken the whole 6 months tho to get to know someone ...That's why I believe it'll just be luck should he find a true soulmate in only 1 month. It'll be fun tho just to get to travel. BTW I got a wonderful report on my pinched nerves condition....no surgury unless things get much worse...I am doing and looking sooo good now. I was woriied if I'd got chosen I wouldn't be able to keep up with RR as I'd not be fit enough but I'm getting fiter everyday. Maybe ,I'll bring a batch of Janie's man catching fudge to the Alaska cruice and feed it to cute little Umbreto...Just call me Demi

Hey, Suzanne, i posted a more in- depth comment at your Blog, but i agree, chemistry is not a good basis on which to build a relationship...we all know about the dangers of "infatuation", and i think "chemistry" is part and parcel of that...thank you for this most recent post here: 10:52:09 - it gives me a better understanding of you since your outward appearance presents you as a very very confident person who would not be embarrassed by anything -- just goes to show you how much i DON'T know -- so i appreciate your courage and your willingness to share your thoughts.

Hi, everyone,
ladybasecamp just a note for you...to clarify a comment I had previously made! Please don't misunderstand my comment. You said in a message you wrote in the last blog,

"Every time we risk our hearts we are sure we can easily say "It was great fun, thanks for the memories ...NEXT!!"
...and, of course, the end of your comment was a quotaion from me. If you go back to my original message, I said "If you and he do not feel that elusive "chemistry" upon meeting, then just say...."NEXT".
O Good Lord, LBC, I do NOT mean AFTER you fall in love!! Good heavens, I am not made of iron! I am speaking specifically of women who have their heart on their sleeve, ready for ANY man to knock it off and "hurt" them, when they've only just met.
I was that way once, too, and I have practiced getting tougher. I used to take it as a personal affront if a man that I was attracted to, didn't adore me immediately...but now I understand more. I am only letting eveyone know that it IS possible to be stronger, if you put your mind and heart at the task! AND, an even more important message, is that I am so much happier and self-fulfilled because of that developed and hard-fought-for
"strength!
Hope this helps SOMEONE!
regardless, LOVE TO ALL,

at the risk of appearing disagreeable, i have to say that i do not believe that EVERYONE we meet is our mirror, but certainly, when we object OVERLY STRONGLY to someone, or something, and are unable to let it go, it is a good indication that that person is mirroring something for us. so, in part, CDN. BLOGETTE, i am agreeing with you, but i think we have to be a bit selective or we will become unnecessarily self-critical.

Coach It's like a catch 22 situation isn't it. Chemistry is important, but when you want get to that passion right away, you might lose getting to really know a person. LOL

Hi Ladies,

Just found out from our webmaster that the server that has the photos is down-- something to do with too much traffic!! You Ladies must like the bling! Please be patient. We literally have been having so much traffic on this one server that it was brought to its knees so they are transfering the photo page to another, bigger server. You can keep trying the SB Photo Page but if it doesn't work once, just try again later. We are so very sorry for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, blog on!

Hey, I was going to change the polling question to something like: "Which is your favorite continent to which to travel?" Any other suggestions for the poll?

I'm getting great suggestions from you for the name of the new photo and bio page. Remember, it has to be kind of short because it has to fit on the left side of the web page (called the navigation bar.) Keep them coming in. Also for the new page about the upcoming Journey.

Thanks, everyone.

The Traffic Stop

An older lady gets pulled over for going 70mph in a 35mph zone ...

Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?

Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.

Older Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license
please?

Older Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.

Officer: Don't have one?

Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving.

Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.

Older Woman: I can't do that.

Officer: Why not?

Older Woman: I stole this car.

Officer: Stole it?

Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.

Officer: You what?

Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want
to see.

The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half! drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please! The woman steps out of her vehicle.

Older woman: Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.

Older Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.

The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?

Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers. The officer is quite
stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a drivers license.

The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer.

The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.

Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was going 70 in a 35, too.

How do you make a blonde's eyes light up?

Shine a flashlight in their ear.

*********************

Okay, so this blonde is driving by in his red sports car, and he sees another blonde rowing with oars in a cornfield.

Well, he is just absolutely furious and he gets out of the car and yells to the blonde in the cornfield: "Hey, if I knew how to swim, I'd go right out there and give you a piece of my mind!"

*********************

She's so blonde she spent an hour looking at a can of orange juice because it said "concentrate".

********************

An old man and woman were married for years even though they hated each other. When they had a fight, screams and yelling could be heard deep into the night.

A constant statement was heard by the neighbors who feared the man the most... "When I die I will dig my way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"

They believed he practiced black magic and was responsible for missing cats and dogs, and strange sounds at all hours. He was feared and enjoyed the respect it garnished.

He died abruptly under strange circumstances and the funeral had a closed casket. After the burial, the wife went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow. The gaiety of her actions were becoming extreme while her neighbors approached in a group to ask these questions:

Are you not afraid? Concerned? Worried? that this man who practiced black magic and stated when he died he would dig his way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life?

The wife put down her drink and said. . .

"Nah... let the old man dig. I had him buried upside down!"

Good Morning Ladies,

Good news- the photos from last evening are up on the SB Photos Page! Less good news, we are still working to get the previous photos up SINCE YOU BROKE OUR SERVER!!! (Actually, we are happy you put it through the high traffic test.) Should be taken care of early this morning.

Here are the final To BEard or Not To BEard results: (thanks Connie for that play on words!)

Do you prefer Richard with a Beard or Clean Shaven?
Clean Shaven
45.93%
With a Beard
32.11%
Either Way!
21.95%

Many more hundreds voted so I think there was a concerted effort by the "clean shaven" aficionados!

Look for a new poll soon.

Today the Ladies are off on a bike ride along the beautiful beach strand. The weather will be sunny and warm- perfect dolphin spotting weather! Lunch will be at Hermosa or Redondo Beach, just south of Manhattan Beach. Corinne has challenged me to a bike race so I may have to get into my "serious" biking gear and give her a run at it! Fortuately for me, she will be on a rusty strand cruiser and I'll be on my sleek, well-oiled road bike.

PS- Because several of the photos in the Newsletter are on the photo server, they may not display properly. Ahhh, technology.

PPS- Val, great suggestion "Dreamgirls". Reminds me of that great musical from the '80's with the same name. I saw Jennifer Holiday in the lead- man, can she sing!

hi!
Canadianbloggete wow,I almost cried when I read about your 3 daughters. I, too, have an amazing 30 year-old daughter (her wedding pictures in the 60 year old dress are on my blog) who is in a wonderful relationship with a caring, committed, supportive man, has a great job (as does he) and a beautiful home up in SanFran. I am SO happy for her that I have often been driving down the freeway singing...really singing...for her. Your "makes my heart sing" is an even better way to say it!! Of course, she had some rocky roads in the past with relationships, as did I, but she seems to have learned faster than I did. So, now the mother/daughter roles have now reversed, and I am learning from her. Now we have TWO strong women, where there used to be only a 1/2 of each one!

and, yes, desertflowers you are absolutely right! "Catch 22" is a very good description of the situation! And the hardest thing to do is wait...and make him wait..for the passion. But I have learned over the years that "chemistry" is NOT a synonym for "passion". I still contend that if I do not feel the initial chemistry, there is no way I will even enter into the exploration of a "relationship"!
Yes, I do remember the words to that song...but not the melody. Rats!...I would love to have that in my memory bank. I will look it up if you can give me the title, and maybe what decade it was popular...maybe the 80's? ...you ARE talking about THE Barbra, aren't you (Streisand)? I just went to look her up, and there is WAY too much about her. I would need the title to find that one song...Hope your memeory can come up with it!! Let me know!

OH MY GAWD, softrain I laughed out loud at the "Traffic Stop" I will print it out and keep it forever, with the hope of someday having the guts to DO IT!!

And now you've got us started on blond jokes, heh? O.K. Since I am blonde, and my last husband was a Polish man, we, together had a huge file going of both blonde jokes and Pollock jokes...many of which were interchangeable! Except for one:
Did you hear they were tearing down the stadium in Warsaw? Yes, 'cause everywhere you sat, you were sitting behind a pole.
yuk! yuk!
...and our favorite blonde joke: Do you know why the blonde got fired from the M&M factory? Because she kept throwing away the "W"s.

and to joeinmb, et.al I love what you guys are doing with the website. I don't take the time often enough, so let me give you a great big thank you right now!
THANKS!
Well, that is as big as I can get it, but you get the drift. I am so thankful that RR is continuing to allow us to watch his journey. As "corny" as this "adventure" might seem to some, I totally "get" what RR is trying to do--and all of its ramifications! Not only is it truly fun to watch, but it has changed my life...more later about what is brewing in my little world!

O.K. Enough for now. I am gone from the computer, again, for the weekend. I'll check in next week. love you all!! shar

Bonjourno!

Important for me to clarify, I have nothing against Silver Hair. When my blonde hair eventually changes colour I wish for Silver Hair even though it is very long and curly. Hats off to you Cap'an Roe, Joe and all those whom I know.
By the way Silver Hair glows in the Moonlight!
Hats off to Silver Hair, the 'colour of wisdom' ;)
p.s. again this is just my opinion ROEmancin' ROEmeo you look good with curly hair, slightly longer, as in the 'POP&ME' DVD
With luv from one of your 'back-up' girls, afterall behind every succesful man is a Woman or Women, such as here! Those of us who support your ROEMANCE and ADVENTURE CAMPAIGN since the beginning, even though some of us wish to remain incognito such as SOFT_RAIN and myself! If the fates allow I would like to meet You Joe, UmbertO and 'Posse' one day, would be such fun! Like the song "We'll meet again, who knows where, who knows when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day"

UMBERTO: VOLARE, a lovely Italian song on the radio, I dedicate it to you for all the wonderful photographs, keep up the good work!

Good morning ladies!
softrain, once again you started my morning off with a hearty laugh. I think it may have been one of the funniest cop jokes I've heard! I thank you for jump starting my morning. I'm sure if you check the time, you'll see it's late morning here; I was out being 'Karaoke Queen" last night, celebrating my friend Bill's 66th birthday! It was a hoot! Now I'm nursing a pot of coffee; think I'll have some bubblegum after!
Have a great day all!

P.S.- I didn't vote because I do enjoy a beard on a man, but this time the poll is right! Richard looks good without one; the better to see his great smile and dimples!

some trivia, re: shoes;
last summer when my friend and were doing the "river walk",- something she does every day, and of course when i visit it is mandatory - we found 5 assorted running shoes and sandles, not pairs, 5 individual shoes that people had lost. Last week at the workshop, i was taking my stuff to my car from the Healing House...then about an hour later, walking to my car with one of the other women, she said, "OH, someone lost a slipper" i looked down and it was mine, i guess i dropped it on my first trip to my car.--- what is it about single lost shoew? It is like the sock thing, the Burmuda Triangle of the dryer, where all odd socks go!

yeah, i agree with you too, SHAR, (BOY,i'm very agreeable lately), chemistry is important...but i guess by the time i meet my "soulmate" maybe all the chemistry i will be interested in is what happenes when you mix bicarbonate of soda with water, which i will need after eating too much of Janie's man catching fudge, hah hah!

hmmm, i like "Dream Journey"

Oh my GAWD, I love that cop joke, i'm going to have to remember to try that when i get stopped for speeding, ...well, maybe not, as i do have a small axe under my spare tire for when i go camping!!!

Oh i watched The Fab 5 last night, it was fantastic. the guy's they "made over" has cystic fibrosis and was not expected to see his 16th birthday. But he was turning 40 the day the "boys" came to his house, and he had just been layed off from his job. It was the most touching show i have seen for a long time. When his wife saw how they had remodelled the kitchen, all she could say was "oh my GAWD", over and over again, then when her mom came in she said exactly the same thing, with exactly the same hand gestures...it was so funny, and then he toasted the fab 5 and one of them had tears rolling down his cheeks - i was nearly in tears myself. I want those guys to come over and "re-vamp" me!!

Val, i have very fond memories of my mom singing VOLARA (SP?), i too love that song, in fact, most songs sound better when sung in Italian, don't you think?

soft_rain, i'm finding it really hard to "Concentrate" and i'm not even blond...must be all this grey hair! - time to touch up my roots!

Beard/no beard, i don't mind, as long as he can move heavy furniture! - although he might share Mick Jagger's sentiments: "I'll never be your beast of burden.. " - who knows the rest of the words to that song?

WHY are these blond jokes so funny? Where on earth do you DIG UP all these jokes, soft_rain, lol, oh man, too too funny, i can just visualize him digging all the way to "you know where", are we allowed to use the word to refer to the "burning inferno"? here on the blog?

Well enough said, if i comment on everyone's comments i will be here all day, and i have things to do.

cheers all, and thanks Joe, i'm off to see what action i'm missing out in the photo department.

No harm done Coach—we are just at opposite ends of the point made. I think we agree on the same end process but not how to get there. ( I really don’t think I’m worth a “good lord”, though. Definitely for poopoocacaguanogravy, but not this.)
This is your exact quote that inspired my response in reference , ( not your closing statement) : “I feel confident that they will all (to the very last of the 17) be happy for the adventure, and, as they complete that "last" conversation with RR, hanging up the phone, they will say, as I did: "It was great fun, thanks for the memories ...NEXT!!"”
Which is certainly my ideal in any ending-relationship with any man.
If I could only say one thing to American women for the rest of my life it would be this: we all know that it is possible to be stronger. But it is likely, even probable to get ulcers in the process of forcing yourself to “be stronger.” I am a firefighter. I proved long ago as a young woman in commercial fishing what a man I could be. That’s not important to me anymore but this is: WHEN THE TOUGH GET GOING THE TOUGH HAVE HEART ATTACKS . The myth of the old west is dead. The kind of thinking that promotes: DON’T TALK DON’T TRUST DON’T FEEL belongs in the last century.
Girls, wear your heart on your sleeve and let it get thoroughly stomped on until you can hear it squeak. Feel it. . . IT will feel like hamburger in your chest and you think you will die until you step into the lavender scented warm bath when beautiful music plays and you remember to remember—“Oh wait. . .I’m still beautiful.” Each time you will get better at finding healthy ways to heal. YOUR HEART ITS SELF WILL GET STRONGER NOT YOUR ABILITY TO RESIST LOVING AND YOU CAN SIMPLY LEARN TO CHOOSE BETTER MEN.

Hey Coach,
I knew we walked the same walk....even though I have not met you!
There are no words to describe my love of my girls. They are my "sense of purpose and meaning" They truly do... "make my heart sing" evertime I think about them. I think one of the most valuable life tools I also imparted on them all was to use their brains vs their beauty in life and I am so very proud to say it worked,...my eldest is a Dr of Adolescent Pyscholgy, my middle one is a Dr of Medicine and my "baby" raced (skiing) competitively at the Provincial level and now is a race coach plus is the Course coordinator the National Ski Alliance.
They fill me up! I am incredibley blessed....we lived through hell and back...I would not wish such horrific challenges on my worst enemy.... but we coped as a team, and we are still a team..............the most important thing is ....we all made it!! All three are automomous grounded happy young women!!
Thank you for your kind words! They made my day!!

ps Merry Mary........also thank you...that quote is actually my own!!! Big thanks!!

Wishing you all and more in health, life and love

Travel Log Day 3
Mexico Cruise

Hi Joe, I am actually at home transcribing from my journal the events of this trip. To answer your question though there is an internet cafe/library on board and I could have emailed live. I'll do that next time and see how it goes, a couple of people said they were receiving their email and sending replies without any problem.

Day 3

We are still at sea and traveling at 22knots. The temperature is warming up and I can feel the tropical moisture in the air. It feels great. Someone saw a sail fish jump off the port side of the ship, sorry to say I missed that. We can no longer see the shore line as we passed Cabo and the main land is to far away to see. We are somewhere south of Puerto Vallarta and should arrive at Acapulco tomorrow morning.

The ships activities are on going and one has to have a program guide to decide which to choose. Let me see....should I go see the pool side golf tournament...or maybe the macarana dance lesson....or the yoga class....I think I'll go get an softie ice cream from the serve yourself and study my choices.

Speeking of food, wow are there endless choices. Dinner for the 2500 people aboard is done in two seatings and it is a four course meal. You can chose one or more from each course. Oh My, Oh My..... Breakfast and lunch can also be eaten in the dining room or on the Lido Deck which serves all day long cafateria style. You definately won't go hungry.

Entertainment is good, last night there was a comedian in the theater and a game show with passengers is scheduled for tonight. We checked out the 'singles' lounge but it was very disappointing only three single men on board. Well ladies we better get cracken if we are going to have good choices for the Alaska Cruise. It seems that men don't travel alone on cruises and they don't seem to bond as well as we women. I think that traveling alone on a cruise has probably got a lot to do with the costs. To room alone you would have to pay the per person price and then you are charged for the loss of the double occupancy. So we are going to have to figure out a way to offer room mates for some of the guys. I am sure RR and Joe have got this under control, right Joe?

In the evening when we return to our cabin for the night the beds have been turned down and a cute animal folded from towels is awaiting us along with chocolate mints. The first night we had a monkey and last night a cute bunny. The service is great and boy could I get used to this.

Coach I just can't remember the name of that song by "The Barbara" - but I used to sing it to myself all the time and then say, well what in the hecks is wrong with wanting everything. LOL

OK MY VOTE FOR RICHARDS CHOICES I think Bette, Carol for sure and Corinne. That's my vote for his choices so far. What do you guys think? I need to look at some more photos to see who else I'd choose for RR. Of course, it's not my choice, but no since in not having fun with it.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE
CarolakaTravlin Was hit very hard by the last hurricane in Florida. She called last night and we talked for a couple of hours. She said they were without electricity for a few days and all her neighbors were pulling food from their refrigerators and using thier BBQ grills to cook up everything before it spoiled. They had a big block party, Carol said the streets looked like a war zone and she watched from her apartment as one huge tree was uprooted and pushed down the street and a few minutes later the wind changed and the tree came back up the street.

any of you that would like to get a hold of her that might not have her email address can contact me for that info and a telephone #. Her blood pressure has been pretty intense and she sure could use some encouragement.

Corinne is very nice, I think I may have mentioned that before, Paula and Michelle full of life!!!

There are some real beauty queens in both groups, glad it is Richard under the gun, not me!!!

It would be a very hard decision, after you put personality in the mix, too.

Bette's personality seems to shine thru, even via still life.

Maybe the biking tour will narrow it down some, you know he still needs a GI Jane for the Amazon Trek!!!!

Is Vennessa in any of the shots from yesterday????i think we always tend to like the ladies we have come to know on the Blog!!!

Glad that you have survived, times like this are trying, but you look back on them with good feelings for the way that people pull together!!!We are thinking of you!!

Aloha Y'all!
I've got 'Bloggerwritis' today(Blog Fever);)

CAROL aka TRAVELLIN':
Was wondering about you as we have not seen you blogging for quite a long time. Sorry to hear that you were caught in the hurricane, thank goodness you and the others are OK.....CLICKGIRL...PAULA...ETC.

PAULA: the close-up of you wearing the White Cowboy Hat took my breath away as you are the splitting image of my Beloved Mother when she was younger, she also had that Faye Dunaway look, 'the bones' (high cheekbones) blonde hair and even the shaped mouth and nose, phew it is amazing! I am not just saying this, but feel compelled to share it with you!
When my Mother was engaged to my Dad, they happened to be on a beautiful beach in South Africa when a 'movie scout' approached her and asked if she would be interested in 'testing' for a poignant role in a movie that was going to be shot in Cape Town and U.S.A. Mom declined as they were arranging their wedding plans and the rest is history! Umberto you are amazing with your photography, beautiful! Again a lovely bouquet of brightly coloured fleurs gracing the Manhattan Beach landscape!

LINDAINTUCSON: I enjoyed your humour too, thanks for always bringing a smile to my face when requesting to see the 'veil' :)

DESERTFLOWER/FOX: We all shared a lot of laughs and good vibes on the blog, even with Sweet 'P' Phyl, there were some very funny moments, with her 'cutting-edge' sense of humour :) The excitement of the nannynannybooboosisterhood gals before the Manhattan Beach Soiree was contagious, there was a 'buzz' on the blog!
Thanks for the memories ;) A toast to all of you too, WINNERS!

Anyway, go to my blog by clicking on my picture and then click right under FlowerGirl delivering Willy's Kiss to Richard on comments and look for her instructions on posting a picture.

Now, ask me why my picture has not been replaced yet, It said the Pic was too big, so I am stuck, again.

Good to see you here Anita I am keeping my fingers crossed about coming to Chicago, the 1st Weekend in December, my friends have to let me know if that Wonderful Condo, overlooking the Lake is available.

A Very Late Good Evening,

I paid a quick visit to the Fabulous Finalists and Richard at dinner in the beautiful private dining room at the Ayres Hotel earlier this evening. Those Ladies put the Harry Winston jewels to shame! Magnificent! I brought my daughter and her friend by to meet the Ladies on our way to the local high school football game. Umberto will have some wonderful photos for you tomorrow of the festivities this evening and of the bike ride earlier in the day.

We fixed the server problem for the photos but the webmasters could not be located to adjust the navigation bar on the website. So, just click on this link to get to the SB Photo Page.

To see the Fabulous Finalists Page click here.

Many apologies for the inconvenience.

Good night, Ladies!
