New Blog-No Title
Good evening, I just returned from one of my favorite things to do; dinner with one of my sons, and great daughter-in-law, and three unbelievably, wonderful grandchildren aged 4,3, and 1. This would be my youngest son Gabby, and he works for the AVP-the Professional Volleyball Association, and he too, lives in Manhattan Beach. My middle son Chris, the "Me" in Pop&Me, lives 15 minutes away and he has 2 sons, and my oldest son Richard lives in San Diego and he has a daughter and a son. I am blessed to have my family so close to me. Well, fellow bloggers, get ready for my 2 sisters, they have wanted to join the blogger world but have restrained themselves-but no longer. Shortly you will hear from them. Connie is 2 years older than me and she lives in the Florida Keys and she will be one of the panel members. My younger sister, Judi, lives in Long Island, and she runs a very successful day care center.
I was over at the Ayres Hotel going over some arrangements for our get-together September 1 and 2. Below is a photo of Doug Ayres, the owner and Ann Williams, the General Manager. They are being such gracious and generous hosts and are so pleased to be involved with the event. We are standing in front of an actual Renaissance fireplace imported from Italy. Wait until you see all the other authentic decorations around the hotel. I felt like I was back in Tuscany again! (Speaking of which, the buffet they have planned for us is called "Under the Tuscan Sun", not A Taste of Tuscany as I miswrote in the recent Newsletter. My apologies!) (I'm also experimenting with loading photos to the blog so we can post them during the event! You Ladies of the blog are way ahead of me...) All of the indications are that this will be interesting. Very interesting and fun! Bye for now. Richard Roe

O.K. I'm very new to this.....Richard...I just read your "current" events of the evening....Family is ALWAYS # 1...... you already know that I will be there on the 1st. I have just learned about all of your "bloggette" fans......this is going to be so much fun.....looking forward to it. whether it be "one on one" or a "round table" discussion...I'm up for anything....Sincerely L.P. a.k.a. "put me on the keeper pile"
Two sisters will be terrific judges. That's what I'd do; put 2 siblings on the panel. I'm not sending in any material because I really don't want to "apply" plus currently I don't qualify--not free (have to work) and not as fit as I once was and intend to be again. So, Richard, if you don't find your travelmate this time around, perhaps I'll exchange some information with you in the future.
N.
Just so no brothers get on the panel, they only think of negative remarks. I had not seen my family
in Germany in 8yrs.. 10 minutes back the ribbing started in from my 3 brothers, and they know material that is sooo funny to them, but I had to dig hard for
hopefully responses. Ah/Oh brothers
You All have fun in the sun!

Welcome to blog land! I hope we are not too much for you because we certainly can go on and on. You can click on my name Desertflowers and see what we talk about over there. We call ourselves THE NANNYNANNYBOOBOO SISTERHOOD, just for skins and grins. You can also go to that site www.nannynannybooboosisterhood.com and see pictures of those of us that have been blogging for a while now. Linda in Tucson put the site together for us. You'll find us to be a pretty straight forward, opinated group of women. Hope you like us.
Richard, thank you for the new newsletter and blog. My heart jumps to my throat every time I read the blog and think about meeting you. So, so happy that your sisters will be a part of all of this. I know they will be looking out for your best interests, and that is a great thing. Don't be afraid of us Richard, we are kind, sweet ladies who will be just as nervous and excited as you will be on those two days in September.
Ladies, I'm one of the ones driving up and staying at the hotel for both the first and the second. I've never been to MB before so I'm looking forward to the sights, the best being all of you and Richard!!!

O.K. Just got home and saw all the fun you are having...loved your new announcement, Richard! But, DROMA, as i read down the scroll, you finally inspired me to speak up. I was going to just let the rude, disrespectful comment go...since you and the rest of my blogging friends were being so supportive. Your call for the Blog Police was really cute! But now I feel compelled to point out something (and even some of my blogging friends will groan, "oh, not again!". He (and I use that pronoun on purpose... a "real" woman would not have been that boorish) used an incorrect word. The word he used is an adjective...it doesn't even fit in his sentence. The word he was unsuccesfully looking for is the noun, decolletage. Tsk, tsk!! If you're gonna be rude, you better make sure you're right!
much love and a wink...shar
Good Evening Richard and Ladies,
Only five comments I feel really blessed tonight to have worked so late and taken a last peak before retiring. WOW!
Family is definitely the most important thing ever, next to friends and health. So I am blessed too to have two of my four children close. My daughter is in Hollywood, my best friend, and my oldest son is also in San Diego with two children - a girl and boy too; maybe our sons are neighbors wouldn't that be serendipitous.
Having family close is always a blessing; two of my sons are too far away with the rest of my grandchildren, but I go visit whenever possible.
Will be fun to have your sisters join in all. What a treat! I am an older sister and having a sister is the best. I also have two younger brothers, one I got on my 2nd birthday, so we have always shared a lot especially our special birthday not being twins just siblings. He always had chocolate cake and I had angel food. He never forgets my Birthday and I always remember his too. :)
Sweet Dreams RR and Ladies all,
Ann (aka Ladejag)
Operawench Thanks for offering to sing to us. I sure would like to get you filmed doing some of your opera to send to Oprah. We might have to do it in the rooms though so we don't disrupt Richards party. But then again, he may just ask you to sing to us. Wouldn't that be a kick.
Hey can you get a photo to Linda in Tucson for our sisterhood site. Sure would be nice to know what each of us look like so we can have a real strong greet and meet.
Coach aka Sharon OK...now I hope you don't take this as being rude, but I think your decolletage showing off your bodacious tata's looks mighty fine and your dress is stunning.
No, DESERTFLOWERS, YOUR comment is very cute, Suzanne, as was Droma’s…and thanks for the complements. But I don’t want to give the anonymous ill-mannered comment any more attention, so moving on…
Thanks to both you and DANCINGGIRL for your comments on my blog. Connie, I am very interested in the book you recommended and will go out and get it. I am a voracious reader, and there are currently only 2 books on my nightstand, so I will add yours to the stack! It is summer so I am "caught-up". That will soon not be true as classes start next week!
I kept saying "right on" and "ditto" as I read both your comments. Good Job! I truly hope your philosophies are true for everyone of our "bloggette" friends! I will forever bless Richard and his "Search" for this wonderful summer of self-discovery and of making new friends!
See you next week!
love and niteynite! shar
Oops..forgot to tell OPERAWENCH...I LOVE torch singing, which you said is your favorite? So, I am anxious to hear you sing that, too!! love, shar
Richard the Roe:
I have an offer for you :)...The ladies on the blog would like to receive a contact sheet for the ladies we have met on the boards..It is my understanding that you told someone who contacted you that you expected 70 coming to MB Meet and Greet...There are about twenty of us who have become the 'heart', or maybe that was the 'butt' of your cause, lol...Anyway, I have made up a contact sheet that I will be more than happy to distribute to all attending if that would be of help...I am coming to people watch and meet the ladies and be their cheerleader so I would have time while you are wowing them!! The headings on the contact sheet include: Screen Name; REal Name; Location; E-Mail;Industry;Sign Interests...I think all but Real Names and E-mail addresses would be acceptable to the ladies I know as some are giving their trust out a little at a time, which is probably good...
BTW, I would like to discuss a collaboration with you on the exciting opportunities that will spring from the media attention you are getting as the poster child for old people falling in love...Man I used to think that kind of a thing would 'gag a maggot'...It is like before I couldn't spell it and now I AM ONE!! LOL Anyway, I am going to print up these contact sheets for our group and if you would like I would be happy to prepare them for the rest of the ladies who are coming...I really like the contact sheet as a point of reference, as I can't keep the screen names and real names co-ordinated...It works for me...I will have extra time while you are grilling the girls and I can bring my laptp and printer with me...You probably do not remember me, but I live in California so I can be available to help when neede.
Peace and Joy,
CJ
WOW RICHARD: I can't wait to meet your sisters!! I always wanted an older brother to protect me and to tell me the best guys to go out with...I can't wait to hear how they describe you...Since you seem to have been somewhat of a rebel rouser in school, I bet they all thought you were so much fun!! It will be interesting...
Do you have a specific 'O' producer with which you work??? I will give you initials and you can tell me, lol....Anyway, thanks for all the hard work putting all of this together and bringing new friends together!! GO4IT!!
Aloha Richard!
How nice to have your Sisters on the Blog, hello Connie and Judi:)
Welcome Aboard!
Keep it 'in the family' I agree with you how special it is to go out with the kidz, love to sit back and watch them interact, that in itself is a tonic 'good medicine':) How fortunate you are to have your three Sons living in close proximity, I too am fortunate to have my 'three' living here in spite of their adventurous Spirits(take after me:)
As previousely mentioned my Middle Son leaves for one week training and preparation in Victoria B.C then off to Uganda Africa with the
Canadian Team on his six month Internship.
So here's to Romance and Adventure
and the prospective future meeting with you, your 'posse' and the bloggers:)

Dear Richard and Friends,
Just coming home on a rush turn around in another one of the occasional nightmare shifts that us hospital workers know so well (working 36 out of 48 hours) thought I recheck the Blog to remain current, Then I read your, blog, see the great picture, Feel the EXCITMENT. Now how the heck am I going to settle down for a quick nap before working the remaining 16 hours???
Thanks for the wonderful anticipation.
Happiness is having something pending.

Richard When I was in Italy last year I loved some of the old homes and castles that had those huge fireplaces. We were there in October and I came to realize why they where wool in the winter months. Something we don't even own here in Arizona.
Morning sbsister2So if you left skid marks, that must mean you can move pretty fast? LOL – as you can see by my picture the most athletic event I can do is billiards. Being raised by a very refined southern mother the idea of us (girls I have 4 sisters) getting dirty was a no, no. So my athletic abilities are rather limited to say the least. We all think that Linda is gorgeous, talented, and creative. We are very thankful that she put that entire site together. Well I’m off for the day, need to do some work on my business brochure.
Hugs Suzanne
Good morning Everyone…and especially CANADIAN BLOGGETTE. I very much enjoyed reading your rant…you are hilarious. It is SO good to have you back!! Don’t worry, Linda will take very good care of you! Just send her a picture RIGHT AWAY!
And welcome to the Boomer Sisters! We are glad to have you on board! I do NOT have any sisters, and have always been jealous of those who do! All I had was a younger brother who I always thought had “cooties”. As a pre-teen, he would sit on the living room floor and pretend he was having a fit when my dates would come to pick me up…Arrrrrgggghhh. Thank the Good Lord he grew up; now he is my best friend. But, ohhhh to have a sister. That is why my sister-in-law is so dear to me, too! SO, WELCOME! I admire that you have added the male peafowl to OUR name…could you perhaps be referring to our dear, sweet Richard? Oh, you two are gonna be great fun!!
And BDNC and DESERTFLOWERS: You go girls…what great cheerleaders you are! Thanks for taking care of all of our new blogers!
And to Richard, a sincere thank you…and to your “Blog Police”, too. I was answering a question today from my Email and went back to find the boorish comment from “anon” last night. Both the comment and the cute response from DROMA is totally gone (but Ellen, I will always give you credit for your quick response). Thank you, thank you, Richard et al. I really appreciate the high standards you are enforcing…good for you. You and your friends who help you are my heroes anew!! Love, shar
Connie and Judi Click on my name Desertflowers and it will take you into my blog, that is where we are gathering - and talking about our little Peacock.
OH Gawd! Sharon don't look at my post where I used the word "where" rather than "ware" LOL
CanadianBloggette We miss you darlin and we have been in a great turmoil trying to get your picture posted on the NNBBSH site. Do not ever, ever think we have forgotten our number 1 sister! Without your humor, sometimes I'm at a lost of just what my next comeback will be. Hugs! I assure you Linda did not forget you, she just couldn't copy your pic over for some reason. Get her a picture ASAP!!!
Babette You stinker....WHERE'S MY PICTURE ON YOUR SITE?......I think Linda is doing a really nice job.
Good Morning Richard, sbsisters, Connie & Judi, and Ladies~
What great nicks ~ sbsister1 and sbsister2; isn't this FUN? Did you ever imagine Richard doing something like this? I am anxious to hear from Connie later too. This is such an adventure; tis nice that you two are a part of it. Family input is can be so helpful at times; aren't the ladies awesome? I think so.
Shar I think your pic is super too; loved your entry but those police are on the ball so never saw the reference at all.
bdnc I desperately need your help and expertise to post my pic to the blog site here-I can't get it to work and have tried :( Suzanne said you were the expert. Help me pls. Also how do you get names and such put in another color-use HTML tags such as bold, italics, etc. This is so frustrating...
Canadian Bloggette thanks for the name; I know no one has forgotten you and your pic will be predominantly displayed soon. Such a wonderful moniker you came up with. Sisters are so very important even beyond family members too.
Shar I agree with you as well as I always wanted a BIG brother instead of younger ones to look up to and ask for advice especially about boys when a teen - what a challenging time. My brothers now are my champions and friends.
All the ideas for the meet and greet too I think are super cj as it is hard to keep names, nicks and faces (many that are not available as yet) straight. The evolution of the upcoming event just keeps getting better; what a threat and thrill it is already and will continue to be I am sure.
I have to be offline starting tomorrow for the next week, so will miss all :( but will check in periodically if at all possible; then headed to MB.
See you all soon, take care, and safe travel all. Great picture Mr. Roe fireplaces are such nice touches.
Everyday's a holiday and every meal's a feast...
Warmly,
Ann (aka Ladejag)
RICHARD
I believe a request was put in for a computer for us to see each others' "videos", but since I sent in a video, I'll need a VCR. Can you see, for those of us who sent them in this format, if one is available?
Many thanks!
Suzan
ann in order to get the blue color type a carot "<" no space then "a" no space then another ">" it works like a toggle switch turn on then turn off. Type in the data you want to be blue then close the toggle with "<" no space a forward slash "/"no space "a" and ">". Try that if it works then you can bold by using "b" rather than "a" and italizize (sp) by using "i"
Now the picture. Ok I'll need you to go to the edit your profile section of your blog. Of I think you have to download Hello Kitty and Picasso did you do that?

WELCOME Judi & Connie, It will be fun having you both on the blob things get pretty wild so hold on to your hats or is that "feathers?"

Wow...a beautiful place the Ayres is!!!
Now, I AM getting jealous of the gals coming to MB!!!
Love the photos in the blog!!
Linda
You girls really are rocking! It sounds like you all have developed some great cyberspace friendships - I have been reading all the blogs since the beginning, but like many of you was a little nervous about "letting it all hang out." Now that I've got the hang of this blogging thing, I think it's going to be quite fun.
Canadian Bloguette: Where are you from in Canada? I am from the Eastern Townships in Quebec.
WELCOME Connie & Judy!
Pull up a chair and join us for... The Dream, the Adventure but most of all....THE FUN!!
As Richard's sisters, I know you both will make sure your brother will be leaving for his trip, in good hands.
I know you have alot of catching up to do on the blogs. Just be careful, because this has been known to cause scrollitis and even a "pain in the neck" to poor Richard, back at the beginning!
Thought for the day.."I choose to experience the sweetness of life"
May all of you experience a sweet day! :-)
Aloha Richard Connie and Judi:)

You two are in for a ride...
the women on this blog are
the smartest and most gutsy...sounds like
you're up for it though...those skid marks
getting to your PC will be a foot deep
by the time this is over...
Question: what do you think of the "6 women"
idea? Maybe this is too loaded a ??? But,
it is a stumbling block for some of us...
We can start a whole 'anonymous'
discussion on this if you want...
To the NNBBSH...love the web site...
thanks for including me even though
I can't go to MB after all. You all have a

rest of us to drool over!!!

Connie and Judy --can we see photos of you? Or at least Connie, since she will be at MB??? We ladies are curious about ANYTHING you want to share....
Good Afternoon RR, SBSisters1&2, and Ladies All~
Suzannelets see if this works with your excellent directions. I am still having trouble with the pic even after all the wonderful help from you and also bdncthanks so much for your quick replies and assistance. If this works, then I have this part down and will just have to use it to not lose it as they say with all else in life.
We shall see, here goes
Warmly,

WOW that was great! YOU are terrific! Another learning curve conquered! Just need to conquer that picture thing.
Thanks again,
Ladejag
Hi all,
I also join in welcoming Connie and Judi. What fun this is and having family involved is a great way to share in all of it as it has become so exciting. It's gaining momentum by the day. I can't wait to meet all of you! I have left Linda an email asking her if she can add my photo on the blogger profile and NNBBSH so I will have an identity also. I agree that it sure is better when we know who we are. Technology sucks with me but unfortunately it is with us to stay. I just don't want to face it and have threatened to get someone to be my techno assistant but that would be the ideal world.
I was wondering how many of you are coming to Chicago? I am only trying to devert some attention from California if you will........guess I am just wishing I could be there and planning for it. Do we have a group coming into the Windy City? I hope that we get some news on that so we can make plans. Looking forward to meeting all of you.
Hugs,
Chandra
From Frenchie,
Hello Connie and Judi,
Welcome. Looking forward to know more about you both. I just saw the ad with Richard on Oprah for Thursday.
I am the eldest of seven and miss them all. 5 sisters and a brother, #3! I have six years difference with my sixth sister and 10 years with the baby (48years old!)!!!! I miss beeing 10 at the table everyday: kids, parents and grandmothers.
The Internet and cheaper phone rates make it so much easier to communicate.
I'm glad you and Richard are close.
MyriaminVA
Hi Richard:
How wonderful to have your sister's point of view. My kids encourage my endevours also and get behind me to accomplish things, even though I will make up my own mind, it is refreshing to hear anothers observations. It will be fun for them to read the blog. The ladies are fast here so it isn't easy to keep up.
The Ayres Hotel is lovely, perfect choice Richard, my compliments. Excited? Hope you post pictures of the cocktail party!!!
Spend quality time with your sisters also, don't just obsess with us. Get polished up for your grand evening (hair cut, although i like it shoulder length for that Tarzan look, no sideburns necessary, new silk shirt, italian cut pants, delicious cologne....Wow!Tres magnifique RR!). Enjoy!
Chandra - Count me in as one who is planning to go to Chicago! I don't have actual plans, though - I was hoping there would be some other people from my area with whom I could make the trip.
Nancy
Dear Judi & Connie!
WELCOME!!! Will you please tell us when RR's B'day is? We kinow it is in April, 1941, but don't know the date... Thanks for putting this mystery to rest!!!!
Have FUN!!!
Cindi :)
"IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR, IT'S A FAMILY AFFAAAAAIIRR" Welcome aboard Connie and Judi!! :) :) I have 4 sisters and one brother..... so what was it really like with Richard growing up? What little I know from Pop and Me, Richard had quite the spirit! Did you call him Dick, Ricky, Rich or what?
I just surprised my sister (who also runs a day care) and spent 2 days with her. She was feeling down for many reasons so I flew up for 2 days. (One bonus of being a pilot is you fly for free)We went to an art show and bought matching necklaces (different colors). We went biking and swimming with her day care kids We had a blast! It truly is fun hanging with kids when there's lots to do! After the kids went home, I found a video store that had "Pop and Me" and rented it for her to see. It really touched base for her and her sons.
Sisters by chance and friends by choice,(2 peas in a pod) Can 2 brains be dangerous? Life really is as good as you make it!! (minus a few curve balls)
Everyone will be looking forward to all your sisterly inputs, (so we know what we may really be getting into :)) Will we meet you in September in Manhattan Beach?
Make it a great day!! Michelle Bahr
Richard,
Do you speak any other languages fluently?
CINDI: April 3rd, I beleive?? is RR's birthday. Someone correct me if I was misinformed.
Forgive my delay in welcoming the siblings to 'our' site. Acutally RR's, since we now have our own website for the "Sisterhood"! Also happy to know one is close to me geographically. Where in LI? Betcha can't guess where I live?!! And, yes, I think it IS worth it going clear out to the other coast to see what I've invested so much time and ... daydreams about. Thanks to my new-found friends, many!, I know it will be money well spent, regardless the outcome of choices. I do hope to be considered, otherwise all this would have been a lark. However, I'm still serious about the endearvor, the journey, the Adventure. And I wish all of us could travel together and really have a good time, but I'll be equally happy with this travel experience!! I've gotten much more out of this than my wildest expectations. Sincerely.
Looking forward to next week, and meeting almost all of my special people. I do wish I could meet the rest.
Suzan
Aloha again Richard and 'posse' :)
The photograph at The Ayers Hotel is very nice indeed, like your shirt Richard! The 'old world' atmosphere at The Ayers is suberb, which can also be 'felt' in the previous photo of you sitting on the couch surrounded by beautiful carpets etc. My parents were avid Antique Collectors over a period of many many years in South Africa.
They both encouraged my Sister and I to appreciate the finer things in Life, such as the history of each Persian Rug, Abstract paintings, 'Still Life' etc. I own very little of what was once a part of my parent's treasury as most of it was auctioned off after their Passing, there was just too much for my Sister and I to keep and not worth shlepping it over to Canada at the time!
So much for material things, one can only 'carry' LOVE and that is THE most magnificent gift through Eternity! So, back to Romance and Adventure....Sweet Dreams!

Hello Richard, Sisters and Bloggers - I have been gone for a few weeks and have things changed. Would love to go to California but I am currently on my own adventure - biking down the Mississippi from Minneapolis to New Orleans. So the trip has been terrific - over 700 miles. Currently we are in St Charles, MO and will be riding through St Louis tomorrow - right past the arch. I went to Minnesota early to spend time with some of my family - brother, sister in law, there three childen and 8 grandchildren - always a great time. We loaded the bikes and went to Itasca State Park so that I could dip my rear wheel in the source of Mississippi - then over the next few days we rode through part of northern Minnesota - they have great bike trails.
Have a great rest of your evening

Aloha and Howdy Richard, Connie and Judi :)
Having fun on the Blog!
By the way we haven't heard from the 'ole rich geezer for a long time, wonder if he and his gal plan to stay at The Ayers and shmooze amoungst y'all incognito:) Afterall he met his Ladylove through SeniorBachelor.com, would be nice to get an update on his travels with his 'sweetie' :) just hope his demeanor is a little more subdued (subDUDE:) and that his Ladylove has a calming influence on his otherwise 'abrasive' manner:)
enquiring minds wanna know!!!! :)

Well, I promised Someone (and Su..., you know who you are!) I'd post this little email I got today, so enjoy!
Subject: Man on the Moon
Guaranteed to make you smile.... Especially since it's a True Story.
On July 20, 1969, as commander of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon.
His first words after stepping on the moon, "That's one small step for man, One giant leap for mankind", were televised to earth and heard by millions.
But just before he re-entered the lander, he made the enigmatic remark, "Good Luck, Mr. Gorsky".
Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival soviet cosmonaut.
However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian Or American space program.
Over the years many people questioned Armstrong as to the "Good Luck,Mr. Gorsky..." statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled.
On July 5,1995, in Tampa Bay, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26 year old question to Armstrong! .
This time he finally responded.
Mr. Gorsky had died, so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question.
In 1938 when he was a kid in a small midwest town, he was playing baseball with friends in the backyard.
His friend hit the ball, which landed in his neighbors yard by the bedroom window.
His neighbors were Mr. & Mrs. Gorsky.
As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs.Gorsky shouting to Mr. Gorsky.
"Sex! You want sex?! You'll get sex when the kid next door walks on The moon!"
True Story....
And one more (just to keep you chuckling):
The many meanings of P-M-S:
1.Pass My Shotgun
2.Psychotic Mood Shift
3.Perpetual Munching Spree
4.Puffy Mid-Section
5.People Make me Sick
6.Provide Me with Sweets
7.Pardon My Sobbing
8.Pimples May Surface
9.Pass My Sweatpants
10.Pissy Mood Syndrome
11.Plainly; Men Suck
12.Pack My Stuff
...and my favorite one..
13.Potential Murder Suspect
Test blog again.....I have tried to send off 2 long blog responses here and neither took..I'm off to bed...
sbsister2 sorry you were having blog problems tonite...we were looking forward to hearing more from you girls!
We were all pretty challenged at first...better luck tomorrow!
I give up..I have written 3x, long posts and none have gone thru..it seems if I spend more than 30 seconds on an entry, it won't go thru...Nitey Nite all....Judi
hey girl.....sbsister2...this one got thru!! Nitey Nite All!!!!
Linda
Hey Sisters,
Try writing the longer blogs in WORD and then copying and pasting them to the blog. That way if you have trouble you won't lose what you have written.
sbsister2
Just a suggestion...Highlight everything you typed (before you send it) and hold down Ctrl+C. This will copy everything you typed. Then click once to unhighlight everything. (So you don't erase it) If it disappears when you try to publish it, you can then put your cursor in the box and hit Ctrl+V and Voila!
This will paste everything back.
It will save alot of time retyping it. Sometimes I will paste it into an email to myself until I can figure out what's going wrong. Then recopy it (Ctrl+C) and repaste it where you want it (Ctrl+V).
Nothing is more frustrating than trying to put thoughts together and then have them disappear. AAARGGGG
Hello Richard! Hope this has been a wonderful day for you! Thanks so much for sharing your sisters with us!
A special welcome to Connie (SB1) & Judi (SB2)!! So glad to ‘meet’ you! Connie – I lived in The Keys when I was growing up – in Islamorada … right across from Cheeca Lodge. After we moved - my folks bought property on Indian Waterways in Tavernier … and that was our summer retreat every year. When they retired – that is where they first lived. I love it down there! Have many fond memories!! Judi … I’ve never lived in Long Island – but I once went to a camp on Shelter Island – off of Long Island. Many moons ago. : )
We will look forward to hearing from both of you … and to learning more about Richard – through you!
And … see, Linda!! I told you!! : ) Richard’s sisters think you are perfect!! for him!! I knew it!!!! : )
Hey Cheryl! Been missing you! Glad to see you posting … and hope your show is going well. Can't wait to see more pics!!
Babette: – How has the move been going? Are you all settled yet? Or still unpacking boxes?
Ann / Ladejag: The main advice that I can give about posting your picture … is be patient. Very, very patient!! I had mastered The Blog, The Italics, Bolds & Blues … but the little pic on the Profile was a tough one!! It took me a while … and Babette helped me figure it out. I wrote instructions on my Blog under: “Hello Senior Bachelorettes” / Posted 7/21/05 … if Babette did not already send you the info. Good luck. Remember … patience! : )
Hi Lilypads and DP BeachGirl! Welcome to the land of the Bloggettes … and one lucky Blog-Guy. (And probably a few Anonymous Blog-Guys … and one Blog-Geezer – from time to time)!
Sunni: – You can hang next week with Babette, Cheryl and those of us not able to make it to MB. We’ll all be jealous together … and waiting for every update!
Chandra: Chi-Town Girl will be in Chicago … and a few others have mentioned wanting to go. And I am hoping to be able to come as well. If … if … if … I can finish a video that I’m working on in time (not the SB video – ha ha). Also – I think as soon as Richard posts a confirmation on those dates – we will start the list for that as well. In the meantime … we will celebrate with our Sisters who are going to MB!
‘Night Everyone!
Brenda
Hi clickgirl brenda...Thanks for the Welcome.......I'm surprised it took so long for someone to notice me as the new blogger on the block....you are all quite a "click"....MB should prove to be a memorable event.....
SUNNI, What high school does you son go to? I was at Lake Oswego for 5 yrs.
Hello there Richard
I would like to thank you for your kind words, after my last post.
I sense you are a very sensitive man and that is an important ingredient, to lasting Love and there fore happiness.
The Love you have inside shall be your guiding light to finding the right one.
I once attended a conference and one of the guest speakers was Essai Morales, his devotion to the cause of helping children to read touched me deeply.
Afterwards I had the honour of meeting him in person and amongst many things he had this to say:
''It is so very important to know how to read but it is more important to be able to also
READ BETWEEN THE LINES! ''
I would also like to thank the ladies for sharing their generous thoughts and taking the time to share what touches their hearts with their friends.
Love is really all there is,
nothing else matters
To Dreamweaver you caused me to shed a tear first....
Oh! and Richard I know this has all become a bit much, I am glad to see you have a great support system
A warm welcome to your two sweet sisters
nite nite
Ladies, dpbeachgirl, and Richard: dpbeachgirl don't think that anyone in this group is a 'clique'!! We have all been commenting for a couple of months and getting to know each other...None of us have ever even seen one another...Welcome to the group..We are a group of honest, open, and forthright women who love deeply and speak our mind when required, lol...I have never seen your posts before...Anyway, look us up...Just remember lead, follow, or get out of the way, lol..
SB1 and SB2: Welcome to the blogs!! :) I was on Oprah too, and my daughter went on her site and made replies to several comments on that site...It must be kind of strange for both of you since it was Richard and not you who agreed to expose yourselves to the public...It is weird reading things about yourself from people who don't really know you at all...And, all of the women who are applying for the trip and romance would love to have your input...Even if you don't talk about Richard, just join in..WE ARE SO MUCH FUN, even if I do say so myself!! It will be great to meet everyone with whom I have chatted these last couple of months...I am not applying for the trip, but I sure think that Richard is so much better looking with his beard...What do you guys prefer??? Also, Richard your face is so red!! I sure hope that that is sunburn! Hope all of this excitement and stress hasn't caused heart or other health problems...
I am Irish...Kilpatrick: And, I still say don't be stressed:
DON'T SWEAT THE PETTY STUFF AND
DON'T PET THE SWEATY STUFF!! lol
Peace and Joy,

Good evening Richard and thank you for bringing your sisters on board. A warm welcome to Connie and Judy.
I have 2 brothers and one sister and we all live near each other. Our 84 year old mother sold her home 3 years ago and moved here to be near her "kids" (we're all in our 50's, but she often refers to my sister as her baby)LOL. I am the second child of four and I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren who are the light of my life. I have a magnet on my refrigerator that says "If I had known grand-children were so much fun I'd have had them first".
Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that I would be involved in something so extraordinary and exciting...
Welcome new bloggers, looking forward to hearing more from you. As CJ has said, we are certainly not a "clique". We have gotten to know one another through our blogs and it should be interesting to finally meet some of the ladies.
Sharon; You now have many sisters :)
Thank you also Doug Ayres and Ann Williams for hosting this event. I have never been to Tuscany but I'm sure I'll feel like I am there when I step into your beautiful hotel.
Okay, Connie and Judy, Let the talks begin...
Connie and Judi, welcome!
We are all very into Richard's adventure and are glad to hear that you have come aboard to help keep his chin above the water :)
Very much looking forward to reading your posts and learning more about you.
A late good night from the windy tropics.
Hi Richard, love the photo and the monumental fireplace. My relatives are from Italy. I have visited parts of Italy from a cruise ship, but I have not seen Tuscany nor Rome...I hope to someday.
Cheers and thanks for all the hard work and preparation for the 9/1 and 9/2 event...it sounds like it will be fun and I'm looking forward to meeting you!
Lilypad Were you aware that Leslie is from Vancouver and Zoe from Alberta and both are coming to visit in MB and of course our little Canadian Bloggette lives up there. I’ll let her answer your questions since it was directed to her.
Bndc So “Lil Bit” how is the move going? Are you done now? Can you play with us more? LOL We miss your crazy, crazy humor I do seem to jump around a lot don’t . Did you stay in the Kamloops area? Did I spell that right.
Ladejag I left a post on your blog. Good Job.
Chandra You’re on the NNBBSH site now and I love the Red…..that’s a joke with us and Richard you know. LOL I don’t know if you were reading about us all dying our hair red because someone said RR liked red hair. Lovely lady.
VJ aka Dreamweaver aka Out of Africa aka Senior Bachelorette Wheeewws! Rich Old Geezer’s been over on my site, we’ve had to send him to the naughty mat. VERY INTERESTING THAT YOU WOULD ASK and right after he started posting on my sight. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm thinking about that one. Is it a coincidence that you would ask at the very time he shows up? Hmmmmmm. Could you be his little lovely that he’s speaking about? Let’s see weren’t you talking about an accident you were involved in and waiting on the settlement and Rich Old Geezer was talking about his gal pulling her video for personal reasons. Hmmmmm Inquiring mines want to know? Did you hook up with Rich Old Geezer? Come on you can tell us.
Zoe I’m cracking up at 2:00am those were great jokes. Mine was always number 10. LOL
Phyl Hey where’s all the support ? Have you grown tired of us already?
Well I finally finished some of the much needed work on our new business that my daughter and I have started…..data entry trying to build up the website. I really just wanted to be retired. LOL
If anything I’ve said offends anyone, remember that when I am typing, I always have a smile on my face – VJ please be offended by my remarks, I’m the mouthy one. Happy says I’m as subtle as a 2X4 hitting you across the chest. LOL
Sweet Dreams
Hugs

Hello Connie and Judi, We all want to be your sisters-in-law, are you up for all of us????lol. I think it's cool that you are supporting your brother this way. I have a younger brother with whom I feel joined at the hip almost. He actually lives in the house behind mine so we have a really nice time.
Desertflower, I don't have a recent photo for the NNBBS website. I do have a photo of me in costume from 04 if that would be alright for the website. I like singing all kinds of music, I just don't get a lot of opportunity to do so. This Torch Songs book I'm bringing has a CD of piano accompaniment with it so all I would need is a CD player and I'm ready to go....lol. It would be an honor to sing for Richard and all the ladies if that came about....I would probably be a nervous wreck though....lol!!!
Richard, I too would love to see you back in a beard and mustache..:) Thank you for putting up the photo of you and our hosts at the Ayres Hotel. I never thought in a million years that I would be participating in such a life changing event, the SB search for a traveling partner. What a wonderful mission for you and the woman who will be your life partner! I'm hoping to get my materials sent to you before the first but if not I'll be bringing them to the Party.
Richard..."Dream a little dream of me"
The Operawench
Operawench Please do send in that photo to Linda, I think it would be perfect.
Dear SB Sisters, req. Bloggers and Richard,
Welcome! I am just on a short break at work and here is where I want to spend it. :-)
I am adopted so very open to this wonderful opportunity of friendship. When I was little, I used to say, "I could adopt anyone as my friend or sister." I/We can still do that.
I never really spent a lot of time with girls/ladies doing the female things, untill this Adventure. The quality of Ladies here is where I want to soar.
My possible Dream is still: We're once, twice, three times Ladies, and we Love it. Our value is HELPING. I don't think Richard could make a mistake with any of us.
About Photoes; my notes are home, but I do remember that I couldn't get profile(URL) from Hello, etc. So I went to: photobucket.com I can use it to get and hold photoes from anywhere, My documents, etc. In Photobucket I can edit the phote, (EDIT)resize it to maybe 75%, go down a bit on the page where I can RT. click (copy) the URL, then go back to my Blogger profile and (paste) it in the photo URL line. If photo is over 50 whatevers in size,(photobucket will tell you its size), it won't fit in profile and you can go back to photobucket for another Edit. I got some pictures too small and had to Delite them and start over. Maybe this wwill help someone.
I still can't always get them posted on the Blogs like I want, I think mainly because I don't always scroll through each whole screen and miss some of the directions or my hands touch a wrong key. This is certainly an exercise in learning more patience.
If you see me with my Honda, you will know I got another click right.
I have a few days off, so I'll try for that photo again.
Love and best wishes,
Mary Rose
Dear Richard and Friends<
(Friends now includes the SB sisters)
PS, What ever became of our generic simple Bio's that we talked about in the last session? And the bullutin board? (To better get to know this collage of characters)? Even if we just know that there would be a blank board, MAYBE IN THE SHARRED GENERAL HOSPITALITY AREA, we would know in time to bring things for possibleFUN postings and the all important PICTURES.(I can understand if you would suggest "NO THONGS, PLEASE".)
We hope to be a HIGH Beenchmark for the Chicago group. Some might say "A Hard Act to Follow."
More FUN!
Thanks in advance.
Mary Rose
Aloha Richard, Connie and Judi!
Before I forget the news is showing a possible hurricane heading Florida Keyes way, thoughts and prayers for you and yours living in that area. I have never met the 'ole geezer, I am certainly not his Ladylove :) in fact I only write on Richard's Blog and always sign my name Vj...'dreamweaver'....'out of africa' Senior Bachelorette etc. etc. :) This is sooo funny that I should ask about the 'ole geezer now talk about timing!!!!! Yes I had a terrible fall April 1st 2004 and emergency surgery April 2nd, but doing well and the arm is healing nicely with my weekly physiotherapy sessions. I am still waiting patiently to meet my Soulmate, who knows maybe it is destined to happen through my connecting here !
Looking forward to the 1st Cruise what a FUN time it will be and THE most romantic way to travel too!

BDNC-- where's the photo of DesertFLowers on the NNBBS site ??? We need that adorable face on there. OH -- you can't decide which photo to use?? The one with the Pebbles -hair of course....
Desert Flowers is on that site, NNBBSH1 - her name is Suzanne!

HELP! How do I put my picture on the Blog? I downloaded Hello but what do I do next?
Thanks, Nancy
MaryR I'll check into getting a bulletin board where we can display our bios. I think your idea was really good. Would you mind to repost your suggestion over on my sight so I can copy it down. You are an amazing woman, have you seen the new pictures of woman on NNBBSH site. Lots of women of all ages are coming to this meeting. I'm so excited to meet each and everyone.
No photo of Suzanne -- its blank on the site that BDNC put together :(
Morning Sbsister1 and Sbsister2 Well the Rich Old Geezer (ROG) is over on my site, complaining about Richard again. I have a question for you ladies. Does Richard drink or has he ever had a drinking problem? Realizing that Richard is rather private about some things - I just wonder why the ROG would say that about him.
The reason I ask is that ROG says that he does and he knows Richard in a social arena. Now our little Richard said he didn't drink and I would say a large portion of us ladies don't drink either. I am a health nut.
Do we get to ask you direct questions about Richard? Ah....but will you answer them! LOL
Hugs Suzanne
Where are the sisters?
They're consulting with Rich Old Geezer (ROG) AKA Jonathan.
HaaaaaaaaHHAAAAAAAAAA
Linda Yea where are they!! I need questions answered. LOL
Dreamweaver Hope all goes well with your healing process. It is ironic that you would ask about the Old Geezer, right after he showed up on my sight. LOL
Gotta go to work....Connie aka sbsister and Judi need input, we're data junkies.
hugs Suz
Hey Ladies!
Suzanne was sent back to the site.. you know her.. .now you see her here and then you don't... *lol* First, it was CB missing, and then it was Suzanne. :-)
I guess it depends who's been being naughty or nice eh? I am still packing and really busy but i just can't stay away from YOUs.
Linda will get all our photos in our NNBBSH site soon, so don't forget to send her your pictures. Are RR sisters joining the NNBBSH girls?
Anway, I just thought to pop in and say hi....

Aloha Richard and 'posse' :)
Where do I begin? :) If y'all paid attention you would've noticed our
'little BIG man Richard' referred to himself as old geezer on one of the Blogs here. I guess he feels that he fits in to the 'geezer category' :) mmmmm interesting!
Our 'original' Rich 'Ole Geezer who now seems to have lost his 'incognito status' according to 'anon' has a name ...Jonathan!
Who knows whose who here, photos, names the whole shabang! I liked the idea that Richard put forward much earlier on in the Blogs referring to 'the guessing game' keep a low profile until the guys and gals finally meet! Alas wid all the photos going up on the NannyNannyBooBooSisterhood Gallery
site we are now gettin' to see the whose who:) Richard mentioned in the beginning that he was not a drinker or smoker, ditto to that hopefully most of us are not, BUT I enjoy a glass of good Red Or White wine now and then in a social capacity.I quit smoking 4 years ago and am healthier for it!
Richard you definitely look GOOD with a beard and moustache:)as I previousely said, adds an 'aura' of wisdom to your persona!

P.S FUN FUN FUN!
Hi all....I am having the worst time having my reponses seen here...again they won't go thru, here or at NNBBSH..Its driving me crazy....
Theres someone named old geezer here on the blog, who says my brother drinks, has a drinking problem, he "knows"..Old geezer is wrong...As shown in my brothers film Pop +Me, our father had a drinking problem...Which caused Connie, myself and Richard to all be very anti-drinking...Judi
just happened again--a long(no longer than anyones elses tho) didn't go thru..GRRRRRRRRRR
In response to Linda's post as to "where are the sisters"..we are here just both on vacation here in NY....So not alot of time at home to play blog....I'm going to make my entries short and see how that works...J~
Ok shoert entries seem to be working..
ok...I will answer asmuch as I can so you all can have a sister's view of him,but Connie and Richard are "Irish Twins" so she grew up with him..I am 8 yeras younger than Richard, who was known as Dick growing up..He wisely changed it to Richard when he went to college, which he did at 16..... Big into sports which the colleges wanted...J~
k-just lost another blog entry, good thing I have alot of patience or I wuld have chucked this all by now...
Have to head out, and annoyed that my last entry didn't go thru..Talk to you all later...J~
Sis2akaJudi
Ignore the "geezer"...He's not
worth wasting our precious time
over...
Any of us who've been acquainted
with problem drinkers could tell
after seing POP&ME that RR
does not have a drinking problem.
it would have shown up in the film!!!!
But thanks for putting this rumor to
rest...hope your role here is not to
be running interference for your" bro"
but that you can have as much FUN
with the blog as we do...
especially if you can fix the disappearing
writing thing...
Going to head out now but wanted to "try" and post one more entry..
In all fairness to all the lovely ladies who are interested in my brother(he's just a normal all around good guy ladies),I have no influence over my brother as far as who he decides to pick....Linda in Tusons was the first and last video Connie and I saw, and only saw that because we were searching for the posts about the peacock entries...J
I'm going to try this one more time..Ahem...Richard, to Connie and myself, is that of a wonderful sibling who has done so much with his life....He lights up a room when he enters it, people flock to him because of his personality, his graciousness and charisma-plus, he has the gift of gab..OMG tho,in such a postive way!...
So nice that the sisters have gotten into this blog. Sounds like they have had trouble with the technology. That may be one more reason more available women don't join. As for me, I never thought I could figure it out, but bingo, dumb luck whatever, I got want I wanted the first time.
Now lets get back to the searching for love and romance of people over 50 & 60. That's what I'm interested in sharing on this blog. What do the bloggers think are romantic come-ons for their partners? What makes a first time partner feel comfortable? I don't do internet dating but wonder what the bloggers think of it? Is it worth the effort? I'm just looking for some suggestions. Help me out with a new line of thought....
Richard was my primary caregiver growing up-aka sharing a room with me(because Connie refused to), and taking care of me while our mom worked....She was a single mom who worked long odd hours and Connie went to school and worked, which left Richard to care for me..Which meant he took me EVERYWHERE he had to go..sports events, card games, places he went with his friends... and he never made me feel like the burden I must have been to a young teenage boy...Now I really have to go!..Judi~

Dear Mr. Roe,
Please don't pick my Mommy to go on a trip with you! I would miss her SO much 'cuz she's such a great cuddler. Sometimes she lets me sleep with her. She gives me lots of love and kisses and pets and when I give her a "high five" she gives me cookies. I understand you're a "Cookie Monster" so you know how much I'd miss my cookies! But, if you find her irresistible (like I do), I guess I'll just have to make do without her for a while. Just make sure you bring her back safe and sound.
Sincerely,
Robbie
PS - to see me pathetic lil mug, just check on my Mommy's site.
bdnc, i've been waiting for the instructions for posting pictures to come back around. thanx. since they were kind of long, i wanted to see if i could copy them and paste them somewhere for later on. i hit "copy," went to my email account, hit "write message," hit "paste" and the instructions were there, then i sent them to me. i don't know if there was an easier way to copy and paste, but this worked for me, and saved me a lot of writing time. thanx babette.

Hi Everyone
Just a quick pop in to see what's happening.
Welcome to Richard's sisters Connie & Judi. Hope you enjoy yourselves apart from the technical stuff :).
Don't really have a whole lot more to say at the moment as mostly checking Desertflowers blog for stuff right now.
Hope all who are heading to MB have a wonderful time even if they're not entrants. Wey hey Richard ...... you have some heavy artillary coming your way albeit beautiful .... hope you're prepared :).
Ciao ... Phyl
Its connie, sbsister1 here, thanks for the warning about the hurricane.
A heads-up to the bloggers. I will post a new blog shortly about the Newsletter which just went out. It is a reminder about the SB/Oprah segment re-run tomorrow (Thursday). This is where the bloggers can really help THE MISSION. If you would like to see more shows which relate to US, you can click on a link and tell the Oprah folks that. If you would like to see more Senior Bachelor stuff, tell her that too. Talk about September 1 and 2. I think they'd love to hear. Thanks for any help and if you can get friends to watch, that would be great. Richard Roe
BTW..I also think Richard is very very attractive with the beard and mustache....I nearly fell off the chair when I turned Oprah on the first show and saw him w/o it...I was shocked....he has had it for SO long....I will work on this for you all....Judi~
sbsister1 is restrained no more!! I am the third member of the Roe gene pool. I can answer a few questions; names: Dickie, Dick, Midgie, finally Richard. How was it growing up with him? Tiring! He was always full of energy. He played some kind of sports, either organized or un-organized from morning till dark. When we spent every Sunday afternoon at our grandmother's, he would haunt me to play board games because he knew he usually could beat me. I did not mind being beaten, but I did mind him gloating and running around and telling everyone he beat me. To this day, I play no boardgames. The best vacation of my life was when Richard invited me to spend my two week vacation with him in Tuscany. He had rented a flat, formerly the winery on the contessa's estate, and we had tea one afternoon with the Contessa and her friends. Everyone in the room speaking five languages at the same time to each other, and neither Richard or I have the languge chip in our brains. We were in Carrera (marble land) on 9/11/01. The other tenant could not speak English and said "Richard, big boom in
America." We watched CNN for 24 hours. Italians were extremely sympathetic and told us how sorry they were. Richard had a car and took me everywhere in Tuscany. He knew all the perfect restaurants, all the owners, and chefs and waitresses. One bottle of wine and one bottle of water, no gas, with every meal. Special coffe every morning, I cannot remember at this minute what the name of the coffe drink was, and we crusified the prounciation everytime. I was sorry to leave. To sum it up, yes, he is a real person, and what you see is what he really is. And I have known him the longest of anyone else.
Itchyfeet: I just wanted to comment on the on-line dating scene. My mother-in-law has met quite a few people on eHarmony and not had good luck. The men were not honest either with their photo (one guy's picture was 25 yrs ago), their height & weight, etc. Let's face it, there has to be chemistry, and it's hard when someone tries to be something they're not. From many of my friends' comments, the online dating scene is tough (but I guess all dating is at this age?). My brother also did eHarmony, and even though you are matched up with someone "compatible" to your personality, the chemistry most often just isn't there. The majority of the comments seem to be that you get so excited to meet this person you think is "it" - and then are terribly disappointed when you meet in person. Our imagination can make somewhat out to look so much better than reality. It's not all about looks of course, but more about the chemistry that comes along with that. Hope that helps...maybe other ladies out there have had different experiences?
Hey dpBeachGirl – sorry we took so long to notice you. I think I am the only ‘Click’ here (ha ha) … and no intent from any of us to be like a ‘Clique’ (as CJ says). We are all just busy, busy, busy … and Blog Hopping … and living active, adventurous lives. : ) And … you know the saying: ‘Better late … than never.’ So … hope you will forgive us! We never exclude Beach Girls!! : )
Hi Nancy in Ohio: I’m just guessing here – but I believe that NNBBSH1 is Suzanne – pulling our leg. Okay – Desert Flowers. Fess up! Was that you?
And … Suzanne – I always love your posts! : )
Oh Leslie … you are sooooo funny! Love Robbie’s pic!! ; )
Richard, Sisters and Bloggettes: I better go check out that latest Newsletter!! : )
Have a good one!
Brenda
Thanks "click" "Brenda"...I like you already....Can you believe that last post by foresthills!!!
RICHARD...what did you think of that????
Good evening ALL,
I don't know about anyone else but this has become a way of life! I am getting nothing done at this end and spend too much time just scrolling.......life will never be the same again thanks to SB Richard and his antics. Maybe it's hypnotism....
LINDA - thanks a bunch for getting my photo on the NNBBSH and maybe I should have left the white hat photo with my dark hair from about 10 years ago....a killer! I do give up on posting the photo on the blogs because the closest I come to a dashboard is in the car.(I sure hate to admit that but I have a cartoon on my refrig. that says "technology sucks.")
SBSISTERS 1 & 2: I vote that the beard and mustache can be taken on and off at will and all these years he has had you two snowed. He sure looks good in it.
DESERTFLOWERS: Let's think about "all of us" going in as red heads! (hey, they have a red hat society - what the heck!) Wouldn't it be a stitch?
NANCY IN OHIO & BRENDA: Sure hope you can make it to the Windy City....and when will we be getting our info? I would like ALL of "the sisters" to show up as a group there. Talk about the sisterhood!
LILYPAD: I have one online dating story to tell which should have gone on Oprah!
I can feel the excitement brewing for MB and I just want to start the planning for Chicago! Yeah to the Windy City and Oprah land! I hope a lot of you can be with us!
Hugs,
Chandra
What happened to Forest Hills' latest post? It was here a minute ago and now it's gone. It doesn't show it was deleted by author either. I was just about to re-read it to my friend to hear her comments, and now it's gone!
Hey again, dpBeachGirl & Lilypad: What post by Forest Hills? (ha ha) I think you’ve just met our infamous ‘Blog Police’. : )
Hi Chandra: I’m hoping I can make it to Chicago too. One of my favorite cities … even though I have only been there once! But the memories!!!
About Online Dating: I could write a book about it! : ) I’m on eHarmony and just signed back up on Match.com (after being off for a long time). I’m wondering why I am doing it again!! Sigh.
Later all!
Brenda
lilypad....plz go to my blog and email me. I have something of interest....
There you are Suzanne,
I thought you got deleted to the naughty mat!
THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE SAID IN WRITING FIRST TO 'WORD' - THEN COPYING TO WHERE YOU REALLY WANT IT.
RICHARD AND FELLOW BLOGGETTES!!
Now, I haven't read the other messages. I'm posting directly from reading your latest Newsletter. The topic is Perfectmatch.com.
I have used this Perfectmatch.com. Yes, there's a free profile. And RICHARD, in My Humble Opinion, That's the way you should have gone to begin with. You would have saved yourself a LOT of money, and trouble. But, as I'm sure you are aware, but maybe others are not, they charge $6,500 for their service. They are Matchmakers. Not a computer cross-match, database. Their service is highly personal. For their ultra-high-networth clients they will use the utmost of exclusivity, and charge royally - even up to $20,000 - that's right - for their EXCLUSIVE matchmaking. The person(s) who pay that kind of money (like Old Geezer) will travel to the ends of this Earth to meet the person they indicate. Because they do such a good job.
RICHARD - not to be repetitive, but I always wondered why a 'millionaire' would have gone your route, subjected yourself to all this, to find a compatible travel and possible soulmate?? For $6,500, you could have met your "Match" and be done with it. Or move on to the next one. And the women who join, who ALSO pay $6,500, they don't pay a single penny in dating expenses. The guy foots every lunch, dinner, bling, airfare, hotel ... need I go on?
Now. I haven't read anyone else's blog response, and I daresay there are probably some out there who have heard of Perfectmatch.com, and have contacted them. It's just odd that you would promote THEM in a venue, your site, that competes with them, as a mission for future 'Senior' "matches". Unless you intend to push our business on to them. If that's so, you should be upfront with all it entails.
Another topic for discussion would be your TREMENDOUS emphasis on our watching Oprah, our friends, relatives, neighbors, strangers, hang it out on banners, click and tell her how much we want this ... Excuse me?! There are a lot of us, a lot more than me, who have been on this "Journey" of yours since the beginning. Why in the WORLD would I want to encourage MORE competition??? How does that help MY endeavor? My mission? My goal? Why I've spent $$$ to fly out to MB for the special privilege to meet, face-to-face the progenitor of all of this? Did I miss something here? Oh. Yeah. It's about YOU, isn't it? Forget all of us loyal women who have stuck in here, putting up with misinformation, no information, scant and changing information. And going with the flow, because "all this is new" to you. Really. How insulting to our intelligence. And our patience. You've already mentioned before this rerun of the Oprah show. You are not the lead topic. You want further publicity. For what?? You don't have enough wonderful, lovely, athletic, intelligent, caring, uplifting, self-sacrificing, altruistic women to choose from? And please don't tell me it's about the mission; the long-term goal of promoting ... blah, blah, blah. You've been denying all along it's about self-promotion. There are innumerable sites already out there for Seniors. Why not help THEM? After you've scored your soul mate? This smites of self-serving promotionalism, and I really don't know who's to blame here. You've proclaimed yourself a neophyte in all this, so I have to look elsewhere. And probably not too far, either.
I've apologized once before for being outspoken. But not this time. You are being manipulated, but a willing victim. I resent you trying to push or sway a lot of your guileless readers into doing something that has no direct benefit to anyone other than you, and the production company that will soon come of this endeavor of yours.
There. I've spoken my mind. I'm going to where I will be supported and welcomed: my welcomed "naughty mat" in another venue. I might come back to see if there have been others who have caught on to this scam.
GEEZER - you were right all along.
Hi SB1 & SB2 Great to have your input here. Connie - that vacation in Tuscany sounds heavenly! It is definitely on my list of places to visit before I dry up. I even just bought a 2006 calendar with photos of Tuscan scenery to try to make myself save up for the trip. I have taught French all the way to Grade 12 and studied Spanish and Italian long long ago, but would love the chance to see how much I can remember. In the meantime, I'll gaze at the pretty pictures. Thanks so much for sharing.
I have decided not to delete the "Forest Hills" blog above. This very same person apologized profusely for an outburst on the blog about 2 weeks ago, and I commented how nice a gesture I thought that was. This comment is riddled with errors as was the last outburst. At the appropriate time I will address these comments. I think the tone of the comment, speaks volumes. To the other 99.9% of you wonderful women, have a great night. Richard Roe P.S. I rarely drink. Its always been that way. It gives me nasty headaches. That information has been on the website from day one, BTW.
"Hello toooo all,"
I've missed the blogging for a few days!! Lot's has happened in such a short time. Have I missed any plans being made for the Windy City? I'm going to take a look at the new web site. I hope all is well!!! Iowa Gal
Oh my goodness, are the jealous claws out. (Forest Hills). You must have very low self confidence as you really seem so worried about "the competition." I remember your comment that you apologized for a while back-it was very similar in nature to this one. The expression "Hell noeth no fury like a woman scorned" came immediately to my mind. If you feel this way towards Richard, why don't you just, well, go away, and let us have a good time. You're really making a fool of yourself. P.S. Richard, you were wise to keep that ugly comment up there. You're right. It really speaks to the character, or lack thereof, of whoever this unhappy person is.
Suzan - You are wrong in Perfectmatch.com pricing - unless you signed up for 26 years at $250 a year to make the $6,500.00. I think you had better always research your facts before you make accusations. Calm down.
Once again welcome SISTERS
Gets a little wild around here
hang on for the ride!!!
This is the first time I have had the courage to write something, however I have been reading these blogs and comments from day one. I have watched "Forest Hills" in particular, because one day she would only say great things about Richard, and the next day, nasty things. Yes, I too, remember the outburst by "Forest Hills" and her subsequent apology. And after reading this one, my suspicions are confirmed, and that's why I have decided to write something. This person might have a serious drinking problem. I have had a great deal of experience in dealing with people with abuse problems, and they exhibit these same unbelievable change of emotions from day to day. No one will ever know if this person "Forest Hills" is a drunk, or a teetotaler, but for sure she shows every indication of a person with a serious abuse problem, such as alcohol, I hope not. Maybe she knows Richard will never take her on a trip. It was just the other day her comments were so sweet about the Senior Bachelor and his mission. And now she questions it?? Well, that's her right and priviege and she is entitled to her opinion. Just as Richard is entitled to his, and if he wants to delete any comment, he has that right as well. I, for one, am happy he didn't delete it. Yes, this is a woman scorned-maybe not by Richard, but by someone in her past, that's for sure, and she is "transferring" her pain. How sad. How very sad.
Wherever did that person who quoted the prices of PerfectMatch.com get her figures from?? Again, just as in past comments, she (I guess it's a she) is wildly off the mark. I love PerfectMatch.com and have no earthly idea what the heck she is talking about. Many times Richard has said he has never used a dating service, but that he will research them, and periodically put some on his site for people to try it. He has never "pushed" any one service, rather provided a service. We are ladies who are intelligent enough to make our own decisions. I for one have had a great experience with PerfectMatch.com and I didn't pay anything remotely resembling the absurd figures that person said it cost. Check your facts!! Get a life!! Go somewhere else with your bs.!!!!!
Dear SB, Thank you for keeping Suzan's comment on the blog. I hope for your sake you know who she is in case she applied!!!!!!!!!!!Geez......what anger. What jealousy. But with a blog where anybody can say anything, Richard, you must expect this to happen. Don't worry, we, the other 99.9%, love you and we get your mission and we 100% back you and your efforts.
Anonymous who has been on from day one and is now just making a first post?!
And you took the big step just to diagnose Forrest Hills as an alcoholic???
Oh My!!!
This should make some interesting reading for the new "O" visitors tomorrow.
anonymous I find it odd to pronounce your love for RR, yet not identifying yourself. Hmmmm.
Richard I do have strong opinions on all this hoo ha...I will save them for the private meeting I am anticipating with you in MB next week. I won't bite.
anonymous (interesting the bystanders are coming out tonite) I find it offensive to label Forest Hills (her name is Suzan) as a drunk. How rude. You can state your opinion of the comments, but leave the analyzing of our friend out of it. Please.
To set the record straight, simply go to www.perfectmatch.com. Their most popular membership is for 3 months, cost=$99.95. 6 months=$159.95. 12 months=$249.95. Yes, I do have to realize that when anybody can say anything, and have facts 100% wrong, this is the price for free speech. I will continue to monitor and correct non-facts and act at the appropriate time. Have a good night everybody, I'm off to bed. Richard Roe P.S. Thank you to whomever the people were who so quickly acted to call attention to the totally incorrect statements.
Giving The Freedom To Live
Accepting The Journeys Of Others
Each of us, in life, walks on the special path that the soul is destined to undertake. Our journeys are very different and we progress at different rates. The pitfalls and blessings we encounter are unique, yet we are all learning and no one form of knowledge is more important than any other. Even so, when we observe others, it can be easy to pass judgment on their decisions and to assume their actions will correspond with what we feel is right. But for every problem, there are a multitude of solutions. Everyone makes mistakes and, while watching others do so can be frustrating, it is important that you accept each person's unique way of doing things. Giving others the freedom to act in the way they feel are best without the fear of harsh judgments honors the capacity for growth that all people possess.
It is helpful to practice accepting others as they are. Never judge the decisions of others based on the path you would have taken because every person lives by different values and experiences. Challenge is a universal concept, but we all deal with difficulties in our own way. Give others the space to fail, but don't harden your heart against their experience. It isn't wise to try and fix people or control situations. You may feel compelled to intervene when difficulties arise, but it is important only to offer guidance when asked unless the person is involved in a truly dangerous situation or cannot act for themselves. Failure to choose the right path or to make enlightened decisions is simply another step on the journey. It is a means to experience and wisdom. Letting go of the need to influence others does not discount offering loving support and it does not mean that you need to stop caring. It does mean stepping back, dissolving judgment, and gracefully allowing others to live their own destinies.
Giving others the freedom to blossom in their own journeys gives you the freedom to take more notice of your own. You may not condone the actions you see taking place, but your reactions will be more loving by letting them be. And you will be able to focus on just being yourself, confident that the path you take is as right, valid, and special as any other.
Enjoy the Journey...
Please don't hide behind the anonymous label. If you have anything worthwhile saying, then put your name there and stand behind it. It speaks of cowardice.
Richard, I really don't get it. If you have a different opinion, then, please, share that with us and enlighten us. You take the time to delete, why not take the time to refute? I personally don't understand why, when Sept. 16 looms in the not so distant future, you keep encouraging women to send in their videos. My understanding was this already was a full-time job and you were quite bogged (and blogged!) down. Last I heard, there were 600+ videos from amazing women. Isn't that enough? At this rate, you're never gonna get away! I'm looking forward with interest to your comments - and meeting in MB!
Suzan aka Forest Hills I went on to that site and filled out all the same information as they always have and the cost is $99.00 for two months, with variables.
Maybe there is another site you are referring to, that is for the more exclusive clientele?
To all you anonymous women who are choosing to jump in and bite people. We are not afraid of posting our names or questioning someones motives, which we have done to Richard many times. But to rudely say one of our NannyNannyBooBoo Sister's is a drunk is pretty darn rude. At least have the cahonies (sp) to put your names down. I find anonymoust post distasteful to those of us who have become very close and that includes Suzan
That last blog about giving the freedom to live was very loving and very needed at this moment.
Forest Hills, you have the right to choose your journey and your response to what is here just as each of us does. Your intentions may be honorable but please, please know each of us has our reasons for being on this journey. And there is enough sharing and wisdom going on here that each can judge for herself what is going on.
Zoe, I do not have the time to respond to all of the blog questions and e-mail questions. There are not enough hours in the day. I will make a rare exception in this case, but I will not continue to do so this way. As I have said NUMEROUS times, I will answer questions in the Newsletters. Zoe, didn't you read in the last Newsletter where I said I WAS NOT keen about receiving any more tapes. What more could I do to NOT encourage people. How you could interpret that to be asking for MORE tapes is beyond any logical thinking. Also, I have said in previous communications, I already have plenty of tapes. Again, this has been made abundantly clear. However, many women for various reasons have waited to send their tapes in. Why shouldn't they have the same opportunity??? The submission cut-off date is Sept. 16, so where is the issue? I have made that abundantly clear. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read the past Newsletters before asking questions that have already been answered. And Zoe, you of all people know what courtisies I have extended to you, personally!!!!! Why didn't you mention that????? Again, if anybody has a burning question that they are unsure about, e-mail me rather than putting inaccurate statements on the blog which could mislead people. To repeat, I will not ordinarily respond via this medium. READ THE NEWSLETTERS!!! Good night!!!!!
"Thank you", Richard, for not deleting me again, and again, and again, as I have had to repost the previous one three times already, but with thanks to Word ("Copy, Paste").
I welcome your comparison to my previous blog which I apologized for and you accepted publicly, but I fail to see how the first compares to this.
In my first "apology", I was referring to the demeanor in which I broached that particular subject. This topic is entirely different. This topic is foremost about the women, your bloggettes, US BLOGGETTES. This is not about ME. This is about ALL OF US who have been on this "Journey" for a long time. Are we not sufficient in number and quality to meet your apparently high standard? Why, please, do you feel the need to enrich your stable of choices? Or is there an ulterior motive?
Forgive me if I am being obtuse. It think all of us women who have followed you daily, hourly, by the minute, have defended you and accepted your endless vacillations. Do you need more? Why?
I welcome comment also from the other women not ”Anonymously” but those who are also willing to put their names to their opinions, to opine here. And I will understand if you don’t. I have been on this, my Journey, based on Trust. Have I been betrayed? Not yet. I hope not. This is just a heads up to you, Richard. And others, old and new, to this blog. Involved, committed, who have expended financial resources beyond their means in this, YOUR Journey.
WE BLOGGETTES WILL REMAIN STEADFAST.
Richard, if you don’t like this, I’m sorry. But you’ll see it again because it will be copied to OUR blog site, where your sisters, incidentally, have been made welcome. I daresay, the same thoughts might be running through their minds.
To those who choose to post derogatory comments anonymously, I don’t understand why you are being so offensive. (Please recheck your Shakespearean quote.)
I wasn't sure if I wanted to post a comment tonight or not but felt a need to add my 2 cents worth.
Suzan; You have a right to your opinion and, I might add, you got everyone's attention. I know that you will have a lot of support from your "sisters" and I just want you to know that I think you are a beautiful woman. Something got your dander up today and you said what was on your mind.
I guess I am not taking this as seriously as some. I know that there are many women interested in Richard as a travel companion and possibly more but I don't even think Richard knows who or what he wants. I've met many wonderful, intelligent and beautiful people in my life, many of which I would never want to spend 6 months with or 6 weeks or even 6 days! I'm sure Richard wants to get to know as many women as possible to make comparisons and find out if they have common interests, etc. Many of us can "say" we like the same things that RR does, but that doesn't mean that it's so.
I'm rambling on here, but I guess what I want to say is that I am taking all of this in with a grain of salt. I am looking forward to meeting the many beautiful and intelligent women who are in this with me and hopefully will form lifetime friendships with. If Richard chooses me to tag along with him on one of his excursions, I would be very pleased because I love to travel and I'm definitely a people person. Otherwise, I would not be here wasting my time or Richards.
I'm going to MB and I'm going to have fun d--- it! Did I say that? I never use foul language.
Lighten up and enjoy this experience with the rest of us. I'm tired and that's all I've got to say about that. "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get". (Forrest Gump)
God Bless and goodnight one and all.
Hi Richard, for what it is worth, I think you are too handsome to hide your face behind a beard. Generally the men that have a beard do so because they do not want their face seen. Although I will say, I think you would also look very handsome with a goatee.
Hi Connie and Judi, welcome to the Blog! By the way, I understand your frustration, I am still struggling and unable to post my photo.
Well it's going to be very easy to remember your names. My mother's name is Connie and my fondest cousin is Judi (spelled with a "y").
Thank you for sharing background info re Richard and memories when you were all young. Judi, I am not surprised to hear that Richard was a good big brother...from reading his Blogs I can tell he is a warm and caring man. In fact, all of you sound down to earth and real. I look forward to meeting the three of you next week!
Hello Richard,Connie,Judi, and Ladies on the Journey,
Concerning online dating,I'm registered on 3 sites, and I haven't had a bite on 2 of them in months, those being eHarmony and Perfect Match. Two out of the three serious relationships I've had since my divorce I met on online sites. The last one was from eHarmony and it was a very good match. He, unfortunately had too much on his plate and didn't have time for me. I haven't been on a date in 9 months, and I'm not too worried about it. I happen to believe that God has a plan for me,and has infinite wisdom which I trust.
Each one of us here, including Richard, are on a Journey, to find true love. There are many paths that one can take to reach that destination. Some Ladies here are finding that this particular path is not worth their while. To each their own path, not to criticize whether one path is better than another.
To all of us, I wish the best that life can give us, whether we share the same path or not.
I personally am glad that Richard will have help in choosing his traveling partner. If it were me in his place I would welcome all the help I could get. When I date someone there are friends of mine that know about it and I seek their advice from time to time.
Let us all keep dancing in this Journey no matter what path we take.
The Insomniac Operawench
Chandra,
Tell us your online dating story! We'd love to hear it! I'll have to ask my mom-in-law if I can share some of her stories - there are some really funny ones.
Ok everyone:
I only have a quick minute right now so I'm going to to use it to show my support to Suzan who has a right to her opinion. I've obviously missed the first posting which seems to have been deleted (here we go again Richard!).
I would like to point out to all the Anonymous posters who don't have the guts to put their names on their posts that there are a group (not a clique) of fantastic women (Suzan is one of them) who 'ARE' this blog. I include myself here also. Without these people there would be no blog i.e. no interaction = no blog!!!
Richard, of course people are going to assume that you're looking for more tapes etc etc when you go to such lengths to remind people to watch Oprah again and always ask people to get more and more people to sign up for the newsletter. You do not answer most of the questions in your newsletter. This is an issue which has arisen again and again and indeed has been the cause of many deletions by you. You requested people to ask questions via the blog ... remember?
I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that you've become more involved with the core bloggers, up to then you had been quite rude, hostile and basically refused to answer questions.
I'm open to correction on this but I don't think you still have answered the question you were asked about MB i.e. is it being filmed and if so, by whom? People do have a right to know what they're getting involved in.
Ok .... I have to run cause I have an appointment .... I don't have time to copy this so maybe if someone has a moment they might do it for me in case it gets deleted;).
I haven't even got time to re-read it. I will later and I will check to see if it needs to be re-balanced.
Suzan: take it easy and please ignore the nasty anonymous cowards especially the 'therapist'. Hope she/he is not a practising one!!!!
Love to all
Ciao ........ Phyl
Forest Hills,
You have the greatest courage.
I admire you for this.
You speak what many are thinking. The time invested and money.. wow for some are becoming larger.
I always hold true: Never put your thoughts in writting for it will and can be held against you. Sit on the sidelines and watch the show.
That is what this really is. We just found out a little tooooo late.
It touched our hopes and dreams and that runs deep.
I remain Anon
Suzan, you may speak your mind, but do not presume you are speaking mine. I can speak formyself.
