Professional Volleyball Tournament
Today, Saturday, July 23, was a really great day. There is a Professional Beach Volleyball Tournament, and if you have a television set, you probably have seen these incredibly tall, superbly conditioned, young guys and gals playing on the sand. This weekend the tournament is in Hermosa Beach, which is the beach directly next to Manhattan Beach, where I live, and I spent all afternoon there with my three sons. One of my sons works for the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) and all four of us are volleyball nuts and play every chance we get. And there's lots of chances here as Hermosa Beach has 70 courts, and 100 in Manhattan Beach, and you can play virtually every day!! In all of my travels, the beach part of Southern California (from San Diego to Santa Barbara) is 200 miles, and Manhattan Beach is right in the middle) has the best year round climate. No relative humidity, no bugs, and it is 65-75 degrees and sunny 28 days a month all year. I live on the beach and air-conditiong is never needed. Tomorrow, Sunday, at 1:00 Pacific Coast time (so 4:00 east coast time) the women's finals will be on NBC, featuring the gold medal winners at the last Olympics, Keri Walsh and Misty May, two local residents. Bye for now, Richard Roe AKA The Senior Bachelor
PS- For the first time, the women's final are going to be broadcast on Sunday instead of the men's finals (which took place today.) This is because women's volleyball is more popular! Now that's progress!

Wow - only two comments. I have had a very interesting day - up very early and off to the local fair and expo grounds where a goat expo is being held. My function was to assist in getting the goat trailors to correct barn so, on my bike, I led the drivers pulling their trailors full of goats through the maze of buildings to the correct barn door.
Some people drove all the way from Florida to Washington state with a load of goats for this event. Took them 10 days - they had to stop every 8 hours to milk the goats - I think they had about 10 goats. We all have our own passions. I am fairly sure that goats will not be one of mine. Not that I have anything against goats.
Then I came home and watched a rerun of todays Tour de France - Lance is incrediable. Did a little channel surfing and found the volleyball tournament. Figured that you would be somewhere in the crowd, Richard. Will try to catch the women's tournament - enjoyed watching them in the Olympics.
Tomorrow - in additon - to my usual bike ride I am going to a practice session for some Dragon Boat races. I am on one of the teams and will be rowing in an event being held here on Wednesday. Another new adventure - and I saw Willy Wonka last night and he was in a dragon boat in a river of chocolate - I will be in a river of water - darn.
Glad that you had a great day, RR. Your writing about beach life reminds me of my days in Mission Beach and LaJolla - falling asleep and waking to the soothing sounds of the ocean. As I fall asleep tonight I will imagine the sound of the ocean - and remember the endless summer nights of some very wonderful times.
My pillow and dreams await ----

PS - I also had a massage today - that was a treat.
Salut et bonsoir Richard,
I lived in Napa last year for a while and I was told that the weather is always sunny with zero humidity and no bugs ( as you described, hard for a Quebecoise to imagine!!).........sure enough I awoke each day to yet another day in paradise. In La Belle Province where I come from that seemed almost a joke.....the only thing we know for sure here.........is.........that there will be weather!! Whether you like it or not, 100 degrees differential within one year!
Amusez vous bien au Volleyball!
Bon journee et a la prochain
Oh que la vie est belle!!
from La Belle in La Belle Province xox
I am assuming the tounament would be 10 a.m. Island time. I will try to catch part of it tomorrow.
Several times I drove from San Diego to Santa Barbara, so am somewhat familiar with the area except that I can't recall Hermosa Beach, nor Manhattan Beach, precisely. (I am assuming it is closer to Long Beach, or somewhere between Long Beach and the Getty Musuem.)
The last time I drove to Santa Barbara from Orange County, it was so foggy I couldn't see the road.
I did enjoy the trip and especially liked the Getty and later Santa Barbara, however.
Enjoy Palm Desert, San Clemente, Dana Point, LaJola, and Newport Beach, as well.
Enjoy the Tournament!
Bonjour Richard, ladies,
Yes, it is progress. We are getting there slowly but surely and many men are helping. They are just too shy to come forward with their feelings sometimes but that too is changing. You are a good exemple along with all of those young men pushing baby carriages and taking time off to go with their wife to the gyn to hear their baby heartbeat.
Sounds like heaven where you live. The humidity here has been the worst we ever had. Air conditioning is not my thing but I must say I am very happy to have one right now... on very low!
Thank you ladies for sharing. I had misplaced that poem. so I copied it. (other blog)
Love to all,
Bonne journee,
Myriam in VA
PS. Our body is mainly made of water. Water is regulated by the moon and the symbol for emotions. Need I say more.
Buenos Dias Senior Bachelor Richard:)
Thanks for the information, I am definitely going to check out the Women's Vollyeball at Hermosa Beach today for sure! Just busy watching the Tour de France with Lance Armstrong (his seventh win) yayyyy and so exciting! You go Lance, what an incredible seven year stretch this has been for him and his fans!

Hello Richard& "Women of the Blog"
Richard I loved reading your descriptive passages from your diary(of past trips)you have a way of writing that paints a great image in my "minds eye".I can see you and your son's playing Volleyball,--bet it is a blast!
The last time I wrote in the Blog,my Mom was in Hospice.Mom died on the 17th we were all able to be with her,we formed a circle of loving energy;and gave her permission to do what she needed to do.She actually died to the song"Sunrise /Sunset"(We had been playing her music her whole time in Hospice, but never expected her death to this song). The 19th Mom was cremated (my sister and I have been laughing and crying all in the same moment)Yesterday was a party to celebrate my daughter's marriage in Feb.(Mom wanted to be at this party, and her spirit was!)Somewhere I read,(& I will paraphrase)we are spiritual beings having a physical experience, not physical beings having a spiritual experience.(Michelle I can relate to your grief;everyday remember your relationship with her.-She is with you always)
I feel that this week has been a microcosm.Life-Death-Celebration- all mixed together & being able to flow with it all(and have all the emotions& to be able to process all those emotions to be in the moment...and the next moment..& so on)Seeing the Full-Moon,the other nite in some way was very comforting,it had a way of illuminating all that has taken past(Mom's death,& how my sister and my daughter have been able to give the care and love that we have)The New moon, was very much like a renewing feeling. It gave me the feeling that the life to come will be different and wonderfully amazing, just like our Mom's(&Dad's)life.(Our Dad died 22 years ago,so we have been watching over Mom since then-we are very lucky to have had such wonderful parents,we have wonderful stories, and wonderful lessons,to remember them everyday, with great love)A funny story, when I was very little, maybe 3yrs.old Dad would tell me the Full Moon was the city clock! -and I believed him!!!
Richard have fun today...Take Care&Enjoy,Sybil
Good Morning everyone! :-)
I am sorry i will miss the game. It's such a beautiful day here and i am going out! out! out! to enjoy it. Hope your days are beautiful as well.
LA DOLCE VIDA :
Ha ha ha ha.... it's a good thing .... :-) I had my tv on Music 50's-80's and i've been tra-la-la-la-la
Although, i'd rather be in the game than watch it, i hope i can catch it later on.
You all have a great day! :-)
Dear Richard and Friends,
Your area sounds ideal. Great temps and water fronts. :-)
Candle light family dinner tonight. Anytime I don't have to eat alone is special. When the children were little they each could invite 2 (Anybodies of their choise) to share special times with us. I never never knew in advance who would be there, but those times were WONDERFUL. I will be thinking about you. I also will be sharing the feelings of my fellow blogers.
You are right Richard. Women have come a long way.
We even have a large choice of vacations. We can go to the mountains and see the scenery or go to the beach and be the scenery.
Enjoy.
Mary Rose
Dear Friends (again),
PS I wanted to tell you and clicked too fast, that when we all hold hands tonight, grateful for their successful travels to get here and one more opportunity to share together, we will also spend some time thinking about your and our special Angels, including one of my sons who died @ 27. My feelings about their passing took a leap forward when a dear friend told me that now they were in a place watching and helping us if we would ask and let THEM. Their help produces different help then we can do alone.
Faith gives a man a harbor where he can drop anchor and feel safe.
Enjoy this gift of another day.
Mary Rose.

Well, fer cryin' out loud! Bring out the weather gal in me - 'cause I've been looking for a place with NO humidity!
I'm bettin' the humidity could be 99% and you'd be happy if there were a VB Game!! I'm sure my percentages won't dampen your enthusiasm one bit! :)
But few quick Googles tell me Manhattan Beach has 78% humidity, Phoenix has 63%Death Valley's got 59%, Bakersfield's got 46%, even Baltimore's just got 37%!! and WOW! Boston's got 28%! Yes--I know exactly how unusual those two readings are for July!!
Meanwhile, I'm immersed in 100 degree + heat and 68% humidity practicing for a trip. :) But Wellington's 53 degrees and 78% humidity sound wonderful to me!!
Happy - any ole way.
Everyone.........just a quick thought, just like we all have been looking at the same "moon",just think , those of us watching the volleyball game today will all be connecting too!:) Sincrenicity wouldn't you say(he-he)couldn't resist it.
RR a little thought, how do you like all the goings on about Larry Brown (my favorite sport is basketball, played in high school) I guess people just can't understand genius, the man needs challenges. It like the millionaires out there who keep making big business deals and people say"how much money does one person need", it's not about the money , it's about the challenges and the success's and the achievements hat keep them all going, besides it also keep ya young!!!!!!!!!!
oh well back to the pool today, I'll be watching the game from there, later everyone,

Hi Richard!
This is the first time I've been on this site! It is great to be able to communicate with you. By the way, I absolutely love reading your journal on your website. I am so excited to be coming to Long Beach for a week at the end of Aug. I have never been there and it sounds like heaven. I am fantasizing already how you could be there to meet me as I get off the plane. How great it would be to be able to spend some time with you right around full moon in your own area. I have drank in many sounds and sights in the darkness of the night but the one that stays forever etched in my memory was one particular midnight when my husband & I were walking down a quiet country road...amidst acres of growing crops, not a sound of civilization but only of nature, I had the feeling of being a part of the celestial beauty that totally encompassed me. I have never felt closer to God...as a part of Him and the universe and such a tender, deep love came over me. We cannot plan such moments, what bliss when they light.
Later, your dreamy-eyed country girl

Hi Richard, hawaiiantraveler here. Hope your having a good day out there in the balmy sunshine of Calif. I picked up my copy of "Pop and Me" and I enjoyed it very much. I know it was filmed several years ago, but (yes, here comes a but) I figure...what have I got to loose, so I'm voicing my thoughts. So many on line voiced how great it was{and it was} and how great you looked etc. So here I come pointing out something that was a little upsetting. I was very troubled that Chris was the last son you invited on this trip, after the other two said they could not go. From what I gathered from the film, Chris did't find this out until you were well into the trip. If this is wrong, please correct me, but regardless I felt very bad for Chris. I thought he must have been very hurt by that, though he did't say, but how could he not be? Why on earth did you not get the three boy's togather...tell them what you wanted to do, and ask which one would like to go with you? I wondered if Oprah caught that and what she thought of the way it was handled. I'm sure I know what Dr. Phil would have said. He would have looked you straight in the eye's and said,"man, what the hell were you thinking?" I'm sure everything has been sorted out since then, and you and Chris are best buddies, and everything has been forgiven, and everything is cool. Yea, we all make mistakes as parents. This is one occupation we don't go to school for to learn how it's done. I certainly have made my share of blunders for sure. And still once in a great while, one still pops up. I try hard to learn from them, say my "I'm sorry's" and go on. All in all, it was a good film. I think it would be great to mke a mother, daughter film. That relatioinship sometimes can be messy. Starts out good....they become teenagers...goes bad. What's the biggest statement a daughter makes? I don't want to be like my mother." The funny thing is many times they are very much like their mother. Then when they get older you both become very good friends again. Life is so funny. Last week I took two of my grandchildren with me on the road, they love going with me, so I try to take them whenever I can.Tyler is 11..going into the 7th grade, and Taylor is 9, going into the 4th. These two kids are so silly. Here we were in a little town in Indiana. Now, they could have gone swimming at the beatifull pool at the 15 story casino hotel....but no....where did they want to go swimming? In the Ohio river of course. So after some thought, we trucked our bods down to the dock and in they went. Did they have fun? you bet, they loved it...go figure. That night we had a full moon and I took them outside to see how beutifull it looked shinning on the water. It was'nt the ocean, which is the very best place to see the moon over the water, but it worked. Of course I think Hawaii{my homeland} has the most gorgeous moon of all. There's nothing like sitting on a beautifull beach at night, with a balmy breeze, and the palm trees swaying in their magnificence. When my husband was alive, we went to the conservatory when the moon was full. It was magnificent looking at the moon through the powerfull telescope. You can acually see the craters that we call"the man in the moon." An experience I will never forget. Everytime we had a full moon at home, we would sit on the lawn late at night just watching the moon. Don't do that anymore...just not the same watching that old moon alone. You talked about the volleyball tournament. I LOVE volleyball, but can't play. Years ago I was in a very bad car accident, left me with a whip lash. I can play most sports, but volleyball{which I happen to love the most, would'nt you know} is pretty much out. What happens is when I go to jump up for the ball, I strain a muscle in my neck and then get a sever headache. I also LOVE going to amusement parks and riding all the scary rides there. Because of my neck{because you can really get bounced around} I've learned that when I ride them, to keep my head during the whole terrifying splended experience glued to the side of the seat, and I'm good to go. I guess I've talked enough, so I'll sign off for now. Have a great week Richard. Catch ya next week-end....Sharon.

Richard and Ladies: Richard thanks for the invite to watch volleyball...I didn't see the women's match, but did catch some of the Belmar...I really liked Casey [the BD boy] from Vegas...Lots of spirit and energy...I was surprised that it was fun to watch, as I like to play volleyball and I am not much for watching ANYTHING WHEN I CAN GO DO IT MYSELF...Watching them play made me get on my elipse machine...When I see bodies in such great shape all I can think of is "I gotta go work out!"...As for living ANYWHERE WITHOUT AIRCONDITIONING....WHAT ARE YOU THINKING RICHARD???? Haven't you heard of HOT FLASHES, lol....
Blessings to all!! I wish you peace....And, hugs :)

Would love to watch cool water stuff today, unfortunately not all sports get immediate coverage everywhere. Did you see the US tennis championships in Indianapolis today? Heat about 100 + with very high humidity. Just melted poor Taylor Dent. But what gentlemen he & Robby Ginepsi both were about it all.
So meanwhile I'm watching some beach VB and feeling like a dermatologist...worrying :)
Hi Happy,
Unfortunaely I did not get the Volleyball nor the Tennis. I hear you when you say you worry like a dermatologist.
I have tremendous admiration for all ahtletes. My youngest was on the Provincial Downhill Ski team and faced many challenges, as do all comptetitive athletes, however the the challenge of the sun's UV rays for tennis competitors could ultimately prove to be a life threatening challenge. Lets hope they have SPF +400 on all over their bodies!

since I'm still at the computer we'll have our own little chat.
You're talking to one who actually does say y'all, but I'm surprised to hear it from you. :)
Certainly admire athletes, including, also, a field hockey-playing, sun-loving daughter - who at long last respects the sun's ferocity. Even though she ignored mom, she finally listened to the dermatologist.------ SPF + 400 is about right!
Too much..Happy!

Howdy Richard! Yep....it's a wrap for today, enjoyed my daughter's arrival home from Israel, Lance Armstrong winning the Tour de France for the seventh year and the Hermosa Beach Women's Volleyball Competition. Nice to see the ocean and almost feel the warmth of that California sunshine, reminds me of the Summers in Cape Town South Africa.
The ocean was a 15 minute walk from where I lived, favourite time to walk at the waters edge was towards the end of the day, loved watching the sun set over the sea!

Would love to visit Quebec some day, but I'm determined to head West on my next car jaunt to see Oregon, Washington & take in Vancouver BC too. Then I'll "need" to go to Florida & Hawaii to complete the 50 states. Then Canadian spots: Quebec, the Laurentians, PE Island, Nova Scotia - then Iceland.
I've lived in UT, PA, MD, OK & W. Ger.--- in 2 of those places, they say 'y'all' in their "hour to hour" dialogue! Couldn't wait all day! :)

Hello Richard and other Bloggers!
I missed Volleyball on T.V. today. I’m not much for watching on T.V. – prefer ‘live’ better. Though, I have to admit, I love Keri Walsh and Misty May – and was hooked on watching them during the Olympics. Amazing – what they did for Volleyball! : ) Very cool!
In the past, I was on different Volleyball teams. Beach Volleyball is the hardest though – because of the sand. Especially on our Clearwater Beach – which has fluffy, thick white sand … which makes it very hard to remain ‘stable’ and on your feet. But at least there is cushioning … when you fall. : )
Hey CJ - I cracked up with your comment about AC and Hot Flashes. Too Funny! But I am like Richard – except that I don’t have a cool ocean breeze … just lots of ceiling fans. I haven’t had my AC on yet this summer – even though it was 83 degrees this morning at 8:30 a.m. I grew up in Miami and The Keys – and I have grown accustomed to the weather. And I am fortunate – because I don’t suffer any longer from Hot Flashes. That is one of the few benefits of going through Chemo. : ) Ya’ gotta look for the good in every situation (Ha Ha).
To Canadian Bloggette:
I got your request for help about posting Photos … and responded to you on my Blog. Hope the info helps!
To Wanda:
So sorry to hear that you are leaving this Blog. I’ve written a message to you on your Blog. Hope to hear back from you. If not – please Take Care.
Well, our afternoon thunderstorms are here … so I better get ‘unplugged’. We are 'The Lightening Capital of the World' ... and 5 people were hit yesterday at one of our beaches. So … have to take precautions. : ) Hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Just a quickie to say Hi :). I don't blog here anymore ... not into the censorship thing but was just having a little tiny look to see what was happening and saw you too online so a quick one.
To hell with the blog police. Yeah I'm sure they're at the game or whatever.
Hope you're both well.

Happy,
Should you get to Vancouver, you absolutely MUST go to Vancouver Island and check out Wickaninnish Inn, actually you should Google it and take a quick peek! One of the most spectacular, romantic, peaceful places in the entire world! A little piece of heaven!
Also in Canada (Quebec) you should drive up the south shore of the St Lawrence River to the Gaspe ( I was just there) breath takingingly beautiful, then head SE to PEI, then on to Cape Breton .....all along you can whale watch til your heart's content, explore vistas that are unimaginable, meet fascinating people even if you don't speak french (I just peeked at your blog, you DO speak french??) eat great food, drink great wine and basically soak up our Joie de Vivre and culture!! Should you need an itinerary planner and someone to show you around Montreal... you are on!
It was a trick question!
Personally.......I would take my 3 daughters!!
KIDDING!!!!
I am still pondering.... but am on board with your picks, perhaps would replace the compass ( I figure on an island you can watch the sun set and get a pretty good idea where West is, unless of course it is storming the entire time!) with fleece blanket, great to sleep and snuggle on, wear as a sarong, use as a towel, use as a jacket, hat, pashmina, evening wear etc protecting against the elements...there is no limit! And perhaps would replace the hat (as I could wear the fleece blanket as a hat)with a keg of wine to rehydrate!
Cheers

I did think of blankety thingy--but as I said, decided it would be a deserty island & sunscreen was a must!
Hmmm--so my blog's up, huh? Thought I'd put a "don't share yet" on it. It's really only 1/2 finished.
My French is very very rusty...I listen to the French broadcast of CCTV in an effort to keep my ear trained, but it was only college French without the benefit of "living" it, as I did with my German, which is better, but also rusty. It's so hard for me to hold the vocab unless I'm using it daily! :( But if I get to Montreal--voila! mon chance! :) & I'll definitely keep you in mind. Thanks for the travel tips!
Hey Phyll,
Welcome back!!
Hey hey hey......nice try.....3 NOT 5!!!
So..........all said......what 3 items would you take?? eh?

HI! And Ireland's on my travel list too!!
I totally missed the bruhaha about blogging rules. Seems I've already gotten myself accidentally in trouble & been deleted once. I understand decorum and I suppose I WAS past that point, but I also can't imagine that ANYthing I've read thus far today should qualify as "deletable"! If so I could follow... I'm also not into unwarranted, unadulterated adulation of much of anyone! :) so ciao...p - hope we meet one day.
Wanda - admire your convictions
la belle cb - "Spice is the variety of life!" That's MY version, & I'm stickin' to it!
*LOL* ..... well I like to cheat a little ....*LOL* so its hard to narrow it down.
Still stick with the sunscreen, lip balm, mascara (smouldering eye thingy ;)).... I'd smuggle a sarong also.
Would hope whatever 'man' I'd be with would bring his 3 i.e. keg of wine ... soft blanket ... hairbrush and we could share.... how's that *LOL*.
Incidentally, saw your blog to Happy re Vancouver Island. When I was flying from Jo'burg to Sydney I met a guy in the airport who had lived on V. Island for 20 years. We travelled up to Barrier Reef together for a few weeks. He loved the island. Funny seeing it being spoken about here.

Hey Happy
Thank you. I know you're not into the adoration stuff. Very surprised you got deleted too (although I shouldn't be cause if I did .... well I suppose you would). I just gave my opinion which obviously for some reason upset the blog people!! I know your style and you do not upset anyone. Sense of humour is a must in this beautiful Universe of ours.
Love to you too .... Phyl x
happy - if you come up to Vancouver, I'd love to meet you and give you a tour. Lots of things to do around here, and I love to play tour guide. Contact me at seafairwest@hotmail.com
Canadian Bloggette is coming out in September and we hope to meet up, too.
Oh yeah, my three things would be lipstick, sunglasses, and writing materials.
Hey Phyll and Happy,
Who'd of thunk??? 6 degrees of seperation via Blog!!! Who knew?? eh??

And #2.......Oh quelle horreur!!
Pyhll........I forgot about mascara............up the creek without a paddle...bada bing!!..now I will spend the entire evening trying to eliminate one of my previous 3!!! ( kidding again!)

Hi Richard and all Ladies out there,
I am usually not a hot tub girl. I like salt water verses clorine. But from over 11,000 miles of driving in 2 months, my knee hurts tonight (traffic and too many trucks in TN) and my right shoulder needs some soaking and a really good masssage. (to many hours working in my job at Disney). To many miles behind the wheel.
I hope all is well in the world tonight. Grams and I are looking at maybe a Wednesday arrival back in Cape Cod. Our time has finally caught up with us. But we are back in Eastern standard time for the first time in almost 2 months.
So God bless, have some fun and I get to see my youngest next Monday. He is flying in to bring his Mom home.
And to aubernmichelle, god bless, hugs and kisses. Just keep blogging, we will keep you in our prayers.
Good Evening Richard..Ladies,
To Michele,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss...my prayers have been with you.
To the rest of the bloggers: I, too watched the volleyball tourney, think I saw Richard in the audience..did you have a white hat on Richard? Great game!
I have also decided not to blog any more with this site, I have said pretty much all that I wanted to say to Richard, and it all came from the heart. My question still has not been answered regarding the ladies being invited to said cities that you will be visiting. I will only be available on the 27th (of August) and only in the afternoon/evening, if this is not doable, then I wish you all the
best in your search. It has been a pleasure chatting with you and the rest of the bloggers. I will miss you Happy and Phyl.. :)
As to the island..lol, I'm afraid 3 things just wont do..lol, sunscreen, matches, good scotch and dental floss..no clothing necessary..lol However, the online store is very innovative, must add, I do wear thong underwear every day and when on the beaches of Rio..a thong suit, because I can.. :) To the blog police..sue me!
Good evening everyone,
All my best to you Richard,
Marlyn

Hi Marlyn, Phyl and Wanda
I hope you will stay in touch with us on this Blog! If not, please feel free to come over to my Blog at: http://clickgirlsblog.blogspot.com/
It's a good place to communicate - and there are no Blog Police. (Ha Ha). Seriously - it is just a spot to discuss things that Richard has requested we not discuss on this Blog - and allows us all to still have contact.
In the meantime ... best wishes to all of you!

Checked out the Wick-thanks--waay to cher for my blood!!--but gorgeous--maybe in Winter--I'd never get tired of watching the waves!
to ciao...P enj:oy your company.
to marlyn from michigan
miss your input too. Thanks for the 'vote'. I agree it's about all been said, and the blog's a tad tedious at times. & BTW..No thankyou to the thongythangy. :)
Happy - there are all sorts of B&Bs in and near Victoria,BC so don't give up on the area. I even have a guest room (small) that you can use. I agree Wickanninish is trop cher pour moi aussi, but would be lovely for a romantic getaway with "someone."
Klew - any chance of getting together when Happy and Canadian Bloggette come West? That would be 4 of us who'd get a chance to meet.
Leslie in VanCan
Hi Ladies,
Happy: languages are like all
else: "use it or loose it".
What to take for THAT island
trip: Think about all you can do
with a sarong, especially if
wide enough to wrap around 2.
Sunscreen does not protect
you from skin cancer, it protects
you from sunburn only. People
that never spent much time in
the sun get skin cancer, just
less frequent than the ones
that have had a lot of lengthy
sun exposure. Northern Europe
has so much less sun & heat than
here, that is why they invade
the sunny countries all they
can....
OK, back to RR related blogging.
With him starting a new one
more often that has been easier.

Apologies, but missed your piece about your mom earlier.
Sunrise,sunset...a lovely song to leave on. With friends and family around. What peace. And may it fill you with wonderful memories.
Hi Richard! Thank you for sharing your volleyball experience with us. Your weekend activities keeps it real for those of us who are beginning to have a few uncertainties about ever getting the chance to meet you in person.
It also shows your sensitivity to all these ladies spending thier time trying to communicate under these circumstances. This is a good indicator of what you will do
when it's just a one on one relationship. I continue to reserve
a place for you among my future encounters. M.M. Corbett
Hello Richard
Maya Angelou, what a wonderful person, so in tuned with the truth
I could sit for hours listening to her profound wisdom, thank you Maya for sharing with us all.
I love rainy days, the sound, the smell, the feeling on my skin as Mother Nature gentle carresses and refreshes me. People take showers or baths hours on end, they will even spend the day at the beach but as soon as the rain starts to trickle down they run for cover.....try this at least once, stay out in the rain get yourself soaked, feel it run down your skin, relax and enjoy it, be one with this part of nature also.
LOST LUGGAGE
Well for me anything LOST is at the same time FOUND by someone else, so what ever I have lost, I think right away someone is going to find this, be happy and its going to make their day.Even if the luggage items are sold at that store we saw on the Oprah show.....still someone gets a bargain and is happy! How do you feel when you find something or get a bargain.
Oh and if its money I loose then I like to think that someone who really needed it found it.
Hmmmmm....tangled christmas lights eh......well to tell the truth... if I can, I will pass them to someone else and take on another task that maybe others dont want to do. Believe it or not I know someone that will sit there for hours just untangling those long strings of lights and looking like they dont have a worry in the world. Oh but if I have to I will do it myself and remain calm....yeah sure.
Have a Great Day
I wonder what your answer would be Richard...
