    Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

    Richard- "Tarzan" of the Jungle!

As all followers of this Search For Romance and Adventure know, the ultimate goal of mine was to find a soul mate. So, how are Vicki and I REALLY getting along???

Of course I can only speak with authority from my point of view, bit I feel, very well. Vicki is very attractive, remarkably fit (and that's an understatement!!) and loads of fun to be around. She is a really devoted mother to her two daughters and two sons and two grandchildren, which speaks volumes to me.

But-- (isn't there always a but) I am in an awkward position, and yes, so is Vicki. We have had a few conversations about this, and the bottom line. (again just from my point of view) is that I have found a potential partner, or at least someone I would like to get to know a lot better. Hopefully, Vicki would feel the same way. And here comes the- but- but I have an obligation and a responsibility to be equally fair with all six of the wonderful Ladies involved in this endeavor. To attempt to move the relationship beyond, shall I say, a first date is not appropriate, so I feel a little hindered in showing all my emotions. And that goes for all of the other women involved as well. Vicki has told me she would like to scale this wall I have surrounded myself with, (emotions-wise) but it's a tough climb. Vicki has been very clear in stating that even if we progressed to the "second date" stage, she would not get near the "third date" stage. As I have stated in previous Newsletters, and Vicki and I have agreed, we will be traveling partners and in six months we'll see what the status is.

Having given all of these disclaimers, I will promise to be on my best behavior, with all six of the courageous women who have decided to take a chance to see how this all will work out. And how do I think it will turn out?? I have no earthly idea. Please stay tuned!!!

    Vicki- "Jane" of the Jungle!

The four days in the Amazon at the Ariau Amazon Towers were INCREDIBLE but by day two something was missing and we ALL knew it. We were having internet withdrawal symptoms!! It was frustrating not being able to daily share any of the fabulous stories and pictures of this magnificent, outrageous journey with all our friends, families and bloggers!!

For photos of our time in the jungle, please click here to go to the "Journey Photos" page for December 8.

At first I thought it would be great to have Richard all to myself all of the time, just sharing, playing, enjoying and "chilling out." However, unbeknownst to me I quickly discovered how complicated the logistics of the trips are and also how demanding the business end of this entire journey can be. Add that to his dedication to all the readers who are following along and you have one busy man!! Many things require lots of his attention!! So, I've decided to be the "perfect traveling partner" and just go ahead and SHARE him with everyone!!

And now .........THE AMAZON!!!!!! My tree house (with a toilet) was fabulous!!! The surrounding deck, the swimming pool and the jacuzzi that came with it wasn't bad either!! All three of us had our own honeymoon suite all to ourselves. What's wrong with THAT picture????? Yes, this is all still very "above board" and a real "class act."

Here's GOOD news and BAD news........

The GOOD news is: Day one I was eating grubs in the forest (and liking it!!) and now I only want bugs for dinner!! Day two I was holding an alligator and wrapping anacondas around my neck while frogs played in my bedroom! Remember I was in THEIR home!! Day three I felt frisky and let the piranha nibble on my limbs. They're fast....I only lost one arm and one leg! Day four I swam with the dolphins and one of them bit me. The trainers said that they are not yet quite acclimated to humans!!! Duh-- Nevertheless, I should have done the dolphins BEFORE the piranha. Less damage to the body!!

The extreme jungle hike was just that-- EXTREME!! We coaxed tarantula out of their homes and listened to our guide tell stories of being bitten and coming close to death. What were we thinking poking at them and then letting them climb down a stick towards our faces???? Nightmares that night!!!!! Later we climbed trees and vines, and then we swung from then like little kids!! That whole Tarzan/Jane thing really went to our heads! My "swinging" went really well.....Richard's on the other hand....well, let's just say he nearly lost his pants!! Now he has "air-conditioning" in the front from the giant rip! Hope it's not an "X" rated jungle!! Do I score points for seeing him go native????

The BAD news: I got attacked by five; I repeat FIVE, goofy little monkeys trying to steal my snacks. A native came to my rescue, ran four of them off and then began untangling the last one from my hair!! Code Red!!! None of those horrid little terrorists are allowed in America!! I was off on my own at this time and didn't even have an opportunity for my "Tarzan" to come save me. So much for the "damsel in distress" tactic!

The jungle hikes far exceeded all my expectations. The "natural" cures for everything lie deep in the rain forests and we learned about ALL of them. Even "Mr. Encyclopedia" didn't know all THIS stuff!! Our visit with the medicine woman was over the top! Some of the things she had in jars you don't even want to know about because they're too disgusting! And you certainly don't want to know what they are used for!!!

Several of the natives allowed us to visit their tribes. They entertained us, prepared food for us, demonstrated their trades and craft-making, danced and sang for us and even shared their children with us-- my FAVORITE part! They LOVED having their pictures take with Richard and me and then "instantly" seeing the digital playback! Everywhere we went the kids went crazy for Richard's disappearing handkerchief act! In fact word spread so fast throughout the community about his magical talents that he was once again elevated to celebrity status!! Watch out Oprah! We had so much fun the whole week we didn't even notice the light rain, the mosquitos and the mud-- (just those nasty little monkeys!!!)

Enjoy Umberto's pictures. I think they're INCREDIBLE!!! Watch out Time Magazine and Newsweek!! Here comes nature boy!!!

So glad to be "hooked up" again with all of you! My only regret is that Richard doesn't type faster so we can get back sooner to having some more FUN!!!

    Queen of the Jungle,

    As always, safe travels.

    Ciao for now,

    From Peggy:

"To the rest of the SB hopefuls-I joined Perfect Match about 10 days ago, and am overwhelmed-I have had two dates with the same man, a brunch date this Sunday, and so many e-mails, I am having trouble keeping track-it does wonderful things for the ego! So.....if you haven't joined, you might give it a try!"

Ladies and Gentlemen, many of you have taken the free PerfectMatch Compatibility Profile to learn more about themselves to get better prepared to meet and date. You should try it out, too.

One of the criteria for the 22 Finalists was to take the Free Compatibility Profile and I used the results in making my decisions.

I did take the Free PerfectMatch Compatibility Profile, and it described me to a "T." It was simple and took less than 15 minutes. Of course, the proof is in the pudding, and only time will tell how this service works for you. My recommendation is to take the Free Compatibility Profile (click here to try it), and if you like what you see with the Profile results, and your budget can afford it, give it a try, and then later tell me your feelings. Good luck. We all are looking for our Perfect Match!!!

Many people have asked about our association with PerfectMatch. After seeing Duane Dahl, the founder of PerfectMatch on Dr. Phil this past June, and doing some research, we felt this was a company we would like to start an association with to see what kind of results they might provide. I know from working with the Oprah folks how careful they are to research their guests, as does Dr. Phil, and this encouraged me. (Photo courtesy of "Merry Mary".)

From Linda- "You asked for feedback regarding PerfectMatch. I have subscribed to several online relationship sites with varying amounts of success. However, I believe PerfectMatch has combined the most succinct and efficient program available for those of us with the mature status. Not only is help readily available if needed, the site navigation is seamless. I believe the questionnaires are very well done and if participants answer truthfully, the potential for finding the "perfect match" is excellent."

From a reader in Georgia- "I never desired nor felt the need to join a dating service. On a lark, I decided to try the free personality profile with PerfectMatch. I was floored and amazed how right on they were on about me."
