Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm sure you know the feeling of something being soooooooo far away, and then all of a sudden, it's on your doorstep. That's how I feel as the Journey is starting in less than one week, on Monday, November 28. Umberto and I will leave Los Angeles in the morning and meet Vicki in Atlanta and will arrive in Rio de Janeiro November 29.
The original itinerary included Brazil, Ecuador, and
Peru, for the first month. However as I was putting
the Journey together, I realized Brazil is so big and
there are so many different places to see, the entire
month should be there. I checked this out with Vicki
and she was thrilled! I enlisted the help of a
fabulous Brazil Specialist, Jill Siegel, and she has
been of enormous assistance in planning everything.
One of the highlights will be a 4-day stay at the
Ariau Amazon Towers in Manaus, right in the heart of
the Amazon Jungle. My words cannot properly

I must admit to some nervousness. Even though this is my third trip around the world, I still worry. I worry about everything and anything. I worry a lot about how I will get along with the six Traveling Partners, and how they will get along with me. I worry about my health traveling in rugged areas for six months. And on and on. But I don't worry about the rooms here at the hotel!!
I also will try to devote one hour a day to work with Joe on advancing the "greater cause" (Incidentally, does anyone have any suggestions for a name for the greater cause??) via e-mails and telephone calls. I am 100% committed to Promoting Romance, Adventure, and Recognition for People 45 and Over and especially 50 and over.
