Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, The weather has been great here in Manhattan Beach for the first of (2) four day meetings with the Fabulous Finalists, as 10 of the Finalists arrived from different parts of the country. My eldest sister, Connie, was happy to escape from Hurricane Wilma as she lives in the Florida Keys, and my former wife's best friend and teaching partner, Kim Auch, arrived from Philadelphia, and they were on hand to give the finalists the "real scoop" and also to give me their feedback as to whom they felt would make for the best traveling partners. We milled round the Hotel until 4 o'clock and then walked around lovely downtown Manhattan Beach until 5:30, and then took off our shoes and walked along the water's edge for 30 minutes watching the sunset.
Our destination
was a friend's beach house, and upon arrival the
wine was uncorked and we grazed for hours on
assorted antipasto delights, salads, Joe's "famous"
shrimp (very good!!!) and our host's specialty-grilled
chicken. We played some funny games sitting around
the living room, and this was a great icebreaker as
most everyone was meeting for the first time.
Sunday morning we drove 20 minutes to Venice
Beach, and if you have not been there you might
describe it as "Greenwich Village by The Sea." All
kinds of funky stands selling funky stuff, street
performers, and just plain people-watching makes for
an interesting 2 hour stroll. Then a few minute drive
to the Santa Monica Pier to see the sights, and the
Ladies were turned loose for shopping and lunch on
the Third Street Promenade. Back to the Hotel at 4
and off to a great restaurant, Fonz' in Manhattan
Beach at 6 0'clock. After walking around the beach
we returned to the Hotel and had a fantastic time all
sitting around a fireplace and talking-about
EVERYTHING for two hours.
Monday we were up early for a bike ride from
Manhattan Beach to Hermosa Beach to Redondo
Beach on a brilliant fall day. The Ladies stopped
along the way to watch a pod of dolphins surfing in
the waves!
Later that afternoon,
before going to dinner at Club Sushi in Hermosa
Beach, we made an unannounced stop-after all it
was Halloween night. Joe was hiding
inside a coffin and leaped out scaring the bejeebers
out of the Ladies! "Trick or treat!"
After dinner back to the Hotel for another very stimulating two hour conversation around the fireplace. Even though we are doing FUN things together, the main purpose is to spend time together getting to know each other. To see more photos of the Fabulous Finalists on their outings, click here! The Ladies are getting all gussied up for our trip to Rodeo Drive this morning (Tuesday.) We will have a private showing at Harry Winston's of their finest jewelry. I was told when they bring out the "big stuff" the Salon is sealed off for security reasons. We are being treated like Arab sheiks!!! I sure hope the Finalists are not getting any funny ideas!!!!! After Harry Winston's the Ladies will be on their own for lunch and shopping on Rodeo Drive. (Note: The Senior Bachelor doesn't "do" shopping!!) I will send an updated Newsletter out in two days (Thursday) with how the Harry Winston showing went!! Tomorrow afternoon twelve other Ladies come in, and I get to do this all over again. Whew-ha ha. The irony in all of this (and I'll try to say this as delicately as possible) is that all of my volleyball buddies, and other male friends, all believe (or fantasize) that I am well, having LOTS of fun, if you get what I mean-and I am sure you do!! Well, it isn't that way, ergo the irony. I'll leave these thoughts up to your imagination.
It's all about YOU!!
So many of us are trying to find our soulmates out
there. I am so blessed by spending time with ten
fantastic women any one of which would make
my "Wildest Dreams Come True." And I'm doubly
blessed because I get to spend time with fourteen
more later this week. Yes, it's going to be a very
difficult decision for all of us- trust me, they are all
asking me very deep and probing questions because
they, too, are searching for their soulmate. It's not
all FUN!!!
But, I have not forgotten about all the wonderful
women who brought me to this point in my Search.
That's all of YOU. All of you who sent in materials
and all of you who have been following along and
sending me such inspirational messages about how
the Senior Bachelor endeavor has touched you.
So now is the time for you to prepare and send in
your photos and biographies so we can help you find
your soulmate. Posting your photo and
biography on the Senior Bachelor website only
increases your chances of finding a soulmate as we
have tens of thousands of unique visitors per month
to our website combined with the many thousands
and thousands
who receive the Senior Bachelor Newsletter and
forward it even many more thousands!

the following in the Subject line of your email:
YOUR NAME- PHOTO AND BIO. (If you do not
have a digitial photo or you have only a printed
photo, email Joe and he will make arrangements to
scan it for you at no charge. It is best to write your
bio in WORD and attach it to your email. If you
cannot, then simply write your bio in an email and
send it to Joe. Please refrain from using special
backgrounds and emoticons (smiley faces, etc.).
May I suggest you take some time and study the
bios
the Fabulous Finalists have provided. They all speak
from the heart. I don't want to say there are any
limits but anything more than a page in length is
probably too long.
To assist you with writing your bio, think of
answering these three questions:
Who am I?
What do I like to do?
What am I looking for?
At this point, we are going to post the photos
and bios exactly like we posted the photos
and bios of the finalists. Please refer to the Fabulous Finalists Page
by clicking here. We will post your photo and
then display your biography below your photo. At
first, your photos will appear in alphabetical order by
the first initial in your first name. WE WILL NOT
SHOW YOUR LAST NAME.

ARE SENT IN FROM THIS POINT FOWARD. WE WILL
NOT POST ANY MATERIALS YOU HAVE SENT IN PRIOR
TO THIS DATE. And here is our release statement:

may be used in any manner or media worldwide as
determined solely by me, including, but not limited to,
a future episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show and its
promotion. If you are not comfortable with having
your photo and bio on our website, please do not
submit them.
Posting of your photo and biography on the Senior
Bachelor website in the manner described above will
be totally free of charge for you
to use.
The overriding concern so many expressed to us was
safety in providing contact information. We are still
working on setting up the secure
communication service with PerfectMatch. This will
give you total control of how people will contact you.
In order to use the communication tool, you will
need to have a current PerfectMatch membership.
Thousands of you have already taken the free
Compatibility Profile offered by PerfectMatch and
hundreds and hundreds of you have already signed
up for a membership. For more information about PerfectMatch
and to take the FREE Compatibility Profile, click
here. We know there are a lot of men who receive this Newsletter and who visit the website. "Richard's Rangers" and so many of you have are continuously telling men you know about Senior Bachelor. And many of you have written telling of men you have met by just talking about the Senior Bachelor events and things. It requires "stepping outside the box!" It will be a slow but steady process but they will come. And Gentlemen, the offer of posting your photos and bios applies to you as well! (The only requirement for men to post photos and biographies at this point is they must be referred by a Bachelorette and they must be single, of course.) Someone wrote to me once with a great motto that is made up of all two-letter words: "If it is to be it is up to me." Well, it is now up to you! Get yourself out there and let the world know you are a woman who seeks Romance and Adventure!!
I remain in negotiations for the cruise(s) to Alaska next summer. In all likelihood I will be on 2 separate Alaskan cruises as early indications from people who would like to go on these cruises is huge, so that 2 ships is more practical. As soon as I have the information I will send it out to all of the people who signed up to receive the Cruise Newsletter. Ladies, start thinking of some eligible men that you know for these cruises. If you have not signed up for the Cruise Newsletters, simply hit reply on this Newsletter and in the subject bar write CRUISES and I will add you to the list. Think of the Odyssey Cruise in Chicago times seven (seven days)! Please hop on aboard-these trips will be FANTASTIC!!!!! (Photo- Me and the 135 Ladies who joined me on our inaugural cruise on the ship Odyssey in Chicago! To see more photos from the Cruise, click here!)
Gentlemen, many of the Ladies have taken the free PerfectMatch Compatibility profile to learn more about themselves to get better prepared to meet and date. You should try it out, too. I did take the Free PerfectMatch Compatibility Profile, and it described me to a "T." It was simple and took less than 15 minutes. Of course, the proof is in the pudding, and only time will tell how this service works for you. My recommendation is to take the Free Compatibility Profile (click here to try it), and if you like what you see with the Profile results, and your budget can afford it, give it a try, and then later tell me your feelings. Good luck. We all are looking for our Perfect Match!!! Many people have asked about our association with PerfectMatch. After seeing Duane Dahl, the founder of PerfectMatch on Dr. Phil this past June, and doing some research, we felt this was a company we would like to start an association with to see what kind of results they might provide. I know from working with the Oprah folks how careful they are to research their guests, as does Dr. Phil, and this encouraged me. (Photo courtesy of "Merry Mary".) From Linda- "You asked for feedback regarding PerfectMatch. I have subscribed to several online relationship sites with varying amounts of success. However, I believe PerfectMatch has combined the most succinct and efficient program available for those of us with the mature status. Not only is help readily available if needed, the site navigation is seamless. I believe the questionnaires are very well done and if participants answer truthfully, the potential for finding the "perfect match" is excellent." From a reader in Georgia- "I never desired nor felt the need to join a dating service. On a lark, I decided to try the free personality profile with PerfectMatch. I was floored and amazed how right on they were on about me."
