Chicago "Meet the Senior Bachelor Event"- Here we go!!!
Announcing the Second "Meet the Senior Bachelor Event" at the terrific Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago! The official dates are Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1. The Palmer House Hilton Hotel- undoubtedly one of the finest hotels in downtown Chicago- has given us an unbeatable rate of $159 per night- single or double! (This is from $40- $60 off their best rate.) Please call 1-877- 865-5321 to make your reservations and ask for the Senior Bachelor Rate. For information about the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, click here. Just like Manhattan Beach, we are going to plan an evening outing for the early arrivals for Thursday, September 29, and I'll stay over on Sunday, October 2, until noon to continue more informal meetings. We wanted a major downtown location so you would have easy access to all that Chicago has to offer. Like the Ayres Hotel, the Palmer House Hilton Hotel is also a first class hotel and you will be very comfortable and secure. I encourage you to make your reservations early and, perhaps, find a roommate on the Blog.
Submission Deadline: The deadline for submissions for the Perfect Traveling Companion is this Friday, September 16. Your package must be post-marked by that date for consideration. As I have stated before, I will be spending the next several weeks making my final selections. The opportunity to meet in Chicago is mostly for those women who have submitted materials on time to meet me and for me to meet them. Priority for smaller group meetings will always be for women who have submitted materials. We have a master list of everyone who has submitted the materials on time. If you have not submitted materials by September 16, but would like to say hello, we will, of course, try our best to accommodate you.
Daily Agenda: In Chicago we will have a similar set up to the Manhattan Beach Event. However, we will start the Event at 9:00AM Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1 and go through to 6:00PM. At 9:00AM each morning we will open for registration. At about 9:30AM we will have a large group meeting for about 20 minutes where I will discuss the Senior Bachelor Search and Journey and answer your questions. Then we will break into small group meetings. When you sign in for the Event at the Registration table, you will be given an estimated time for your small group meeting. The number of women in the small group meetings will depend on how many women show up for the event and the number of times available. Every effort will be made to make the small groups as small as possible and they should never be larger than five women. Priority for the small group meetings will be given to women who have submitted materials by the September 16 deadline (we will have a Master List to verify receipt of your submission materials.) Then, about every two hours, I will address a larger group again. We'll continue like this for the rest of the day (with a lunch break at 12:00) until 6:00PM.
Starting at 6:00PM both evenings (Friday and Saturday) we will have some sort of cocktail party or dinner event. These details have not been worked out yet. What I want to do is have a setting where we can spend even more time visiting with one another. After 9:00PM-- let's see, Chicago on a Friday or Saturday night?!
In the next section I have provided many comments from the wonderful Ladies who attended the Manhattan Beach Event below. Like early explorers, they have paved the way for events to follow! I applaud their "couer"-age, energy, warm spirit and their readiness to party!! We all enjoyed the event and I look forward to many fond memories from Chicago- as should you.
So many of you wrote such lovely notes, emails and blogs about the first "Meet the Senior Bachelor Event" in Manhattan Beach earlier this month. I want to extend a special Thank You to all the lovely Ladies who attended the first "Meet the Senior Bachelor Event." I know it took a lot of courage to do so because of the unknown. It showed me you are all enthusiastic for Adventure. "Brava" to all you wonderful women! And, please, click here to go to the Blog to see photos from the MB Event and continue to write your impressions, comments and suggestions. And, now, your words...
"Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time and I feel the time I spent with Richard was quality time. He's everything I thought he would be and so much compassion. The Group pic with all the ladies should be called "Sea of beautiful Women."
"Manhattan Beach was better than an "E" ticket ride at Disneyland. I loved every minute of it, including finding the local Chico's and swimming in the flat ocean at the crack of dawn. It was great to meet so many incredible ladies, many of which I felt I knew from this blog. We all had something in common besides meeting "the man." We are seniors, love to travel, have a heart full of dreams, are bright, intelligent, adventurous, passionate and make life happen (as opposed to just letting it pass us by)."
"I was so happy with the outcome of the "Quest for Adventure and Romance!" May I please make my strong recommendation that you ALL GO TO CHICAGO. This has become NOT all about Richard. In addition to Richard, there are other WONDERFUL amenities- like SO MUCH FUN! Not only the camaraderie of other adventuresome, independent, beautiful women, but also, people watching, hen clucking and ribbing- each other AND Richard! Keep a positive attitude and GOFORIT!!"
"I met women who would be good mentors for me- I felt very blessed to be in the company of such accomplished women and giving women. Richard, the couple of minutes I spent with you privately were very special. You said something to me that I will always keep in my heart, it was empowering and I am very grateful."
"I am definitely enjoying the new friendships and camaraderie that have been developing on the blog and furthered by the meeting of everyone at MB."
"The most amazing thing happened at the event that was beyond even Richards dream for us and that was the bonding that we women experienced while at the event. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!! I made new friends that I intend to cherish forever. There was talk of getting together in the Bahamas, Mexico, East Coast and West Coast. Traveling together, traveling to see one another. I can't tell you how great it felt to know that we all came away winners in our hearts. The picture of all of us on the stairs was not about Richard but about all of us willing to step out of the box and smile because we were having a great time. Go to Chicago, you will come back a happier person for all the wonderful people you will meet and like the rest of us a hope that you will be seeing more of Richard."
Just a quick review of what you will find on the Senior Bachelor Website. We added a whole lot of new information and reorganized it recently, so if you haven't seen it in a while or are new to Senior Bachelor, it's worth revisiting.

"Meet the Senior Bachelor Events": September 1 and 2, the first "Meet The Senior Bachelor Event" was held in Manhattan Beach, California. It was Fantastic! On September 30 and October 1, the next "Meet The Senior Bachelor Event" will be held in Chicago. Click here for all of the details. Remember, the deadline for submission of materials for the Senior Bachelor Search and Journey is September 16, 2005.
Senior Bachelor Cruises: The response to the idea of taking cruises together was beyond a smash!! So we set up a new page on the Senior Bachelor Website just for cruisers and are working on a special Senior Bachelor Cruise Newsletter. Click here to check it out.
Get yourself in this picture with me! You remember awhile back I said I was evaluating various online relationship sites. I wanted to see how well they responded to the mature audience. You may have noticed that I have put up banner ads for PerfectMatch.com on the website. Their FREE compatibility profile is much easier and faster to fill out and they seem to pay more attention to us older folks-- look at the faces (and hair!!) of the models they use in their ads.
Their compatibility profile is FREE and they have a database of over 2 million members from which they will search for a compatible match. Please give them a try by clicking on this link and report back to me how you like them.
Hope to see you in Chicago! Be sure you add my email address, Richard@seniorBachelor.com to your list of allowable emails to ensure delivery of the Senior Bachelor Newsletters. And please forward this Newsletter on to your friends and family and ask them to sign up to so they can catch all the Fun and Excitement!
Please remember that when you submit tapes or any other materials, you agree that they may be used in any manner or media worldwide as determined solely by me, including, but not limited to a future episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show and its promotion.
