Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I write to you somewhere in the Caribbean Sea just
after going through the Panama Canal. The Canal is
about 50 miles long, and to get from one side to the
other takes about 8 hours. I am aboard a Crystal
Cruise Line ship, the Symphony. Crystal has been
voted the # 1 cruise line for many years in a row,
and they have lived up to their reputation!
There are 16 terrific people in our group, and I think I
can speak for all of them to say we feel this has
been a most FUN and worthwhile cruise!
As you have read in past Newsletters, we have 2
Senior Bachelor activities planned for 2007.
The first
will be from February 16-18 in Manhattan Beach.
The other activity is the 10 day Roman Empire cruise.

ITALY and "The Journey"
I have received quite a few e-mails about my move
to Italy as of March 1. I'll try to sum up the answers.
1) I am not permanently moving to Italy. I plan to
spend from March-November in this lovely part of the
world, and then back in Manhattan Beach to see my
family (and play volleyball!!) the rest of the months. I
may do this for 1 year, or forever, depending on how
things go.
2) The Senior Bachelor Journey remains "on hold."
I suspect that I will have a clear direction, one way
or another, sometime before the end of this year.
3) I will continue to act as a "social coordinator"
(for lack of a better word) for our group for as long
as "you" would like me to do so and I enjoy doing
this.
Please stay in touch. I have received so many
inspirational letters of support like the one below
from so many of you that are following along on this
journey- this Journey is for ALL of us.

I have been sick with asthma related issues for 6
weeks and my computer crashed too. I just got
finished kicking the machine and got it to work after
a month. Thank you for the fun stories about your
trips. I rarely travel anywhere beyond my city but
love seeing all the pictures of people my age having
fun in far away places. I would love to see Italy one
day since I got hooked after reading John Grisham's
book THE BROKER when I was a patient in the
emergency room. The Italian references to food,
places, etc made it wonderful. Take care and thanks
again for this public "mission" to keep us "on board"
for a journey that never ends.........Nurse Judy

CRUISE UPDATE: Many of you have signed up for the Empire Cruise, noted below, embarking from Rome on September 25, 2007. This is shaping up to be as big as the Alaska Cruises this past summer. Be sure to take a look for this FUN cruise!
Here is the information about the cruise to the Greek Isles with Holland America on the Westerdam. This 10 day cruise starts and ends in glorious Rome (where I happen to be as I write this.) Embarkation is September 25, 2007. I will plan really fun sightseeing activities a few days before and after the cruise for those who would like to experience The Eternal City in the early fall without lots of crowds.
