My name is Carol and I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and moved to Phoenix, AZ last November to be closer to my children. My 36 year old daughter and son-in-law live close to my home and my 37 year old son lives in San Francisco, CA.
I grew up in a coal mining town called Bairdford, Pennsylvania where my 88 year old Mother has lived for the past 66 years. I am about to reach a milestone birthday in February, and all I can tell you is the number "6" will be in my age. :)
There have been so many special moments in my life. One of the highlights was having the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of finding my family roots in Italy....thanks to my late husband and his Italian colleague, Vitorio. Also never to be forgotten is the memory of my Father building me a gym set so I would have the opportunity to become physically fit and practice gymnastics. Isn't it funny what we remember about growing up---that rusty old orange gym set! Because of my Father’s efforts, I am who I am today and continue to incorporate sports into my life on a daily basis. I enjoy the way I feel both physically, mentally and spiritually when I spend part of each day working out. I lift weights, walk, hike, golf, snow shoe and lightly jog.
I have been fortunate enough to see many different countries, experience many cultures, and meet very interesting people, which I love. I get excited thinking about what we might experience if I am one of the chosen "women" to accompany Richard on his journey. During one of my work-related trips, when I worked for “Pittsburgh Style” magazine in a sales role, the opportunity presented itself for me to travel, interview, and write. I jumped on it! I had the pleasure of interviewing Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Estee Lauders’s son, who, at the time, was the President of “Origins.”
I am so excited about being a part of the "Senior Bachelor" adventure. The entire experience has given me the opportunity to meet people and form new friendships. What else is life all about?
An old friend from Pittsburgh has described me as "...a lot of fun, adventurous, with an insane enthusiasm and appreciation for life and living". The same friend says, "...also, as long as she lives there will be that smile.” (Quote from MG)
